  1. Atari could've killed Nintendo with the 7800 if they released it as an open system with no liscense fees like the 2600 was. I doubt many developers were happy with Nintendo cart manufacturing terms and huge chunk of each games profit they took.
  2. I'd like a boxing game like that Konami arcade 3D boxing game. It's exhausting to play though.
  3. EA also has a handicapped greeter at it's front door.
  4. Atari revenues halved, losses nearly double Getting Up pushed past holidays; Flashback 2 and upcoming Path of Neo provide something for execs to talk about in an otherwise dreary report. Atari today released earnings for the quarter ending September 30. The numbers were sharply off those reported a year ago. Net revenue for the quarter was $38.4 million, about $30 million less than the $68 million in revenues the company reported for the same quarter a year ago. The bottom line saw a loss of $25.2 million, almost doubling the $16.9 million loss reported a year ago. "As expected, through the first half of fiscal 2006, we have released fewer titles compared to previous years and as a result have reported financial results below historical levels," company CEO Bruno Bonnell said in a statement. Two games, Indigo Prophecy and Dragon Ball GT: Transformation, were called out as revenue drivers for the quarter. As was the stand-alone Flashback 2 game unit. The company's Atari Flashback 2, a plug-and-play console that features classic Atari games, shipped about 450,000 units in the US and accounted for almost a quarter of the company's revenues in the past quarter. Looking ahead, one product that was seen as a potential holiday hit, Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure, was hit with a delay. The multiplatform game, originally set for simultaneous release this November, is now due sometime during the company's fourth quarter, which runs January through March. Two games Bonnell repeatedly referenced during the conference call with analysts were TimeShift, the company's first next-gen game, due on the Xbox 360 and PC sometime during the January-March quarter, and Driver: Parallel Lines for the PS2 and Xbox, due the same period. Bonnell also hinted that the long-standing Alone in the Dark franchise would get an Xbox 360 release, though he declined to say when. With high hopes, Bonnell briefly addressed the company's upcoming release of The Matrix: Path of Neo. Due to retailers next week, the game will ship 1.5 million units worldwide, according to Bonnell. Commenting on the game, and reflecting on the post-movie trilogy world it will be released into, Bonnell still sees potential. "If you look at The Matrix, we did benefit at that time [from] a phenomena which was the movie release of The Matrix. We don't have this, but we have a much more sophisticated game, a much more polished game than we have seen." Other notable data points that haunt the company is a still-vacant CEO slot (empty since June when Jim Caparro resigned), two board of director chairs that need filling, and dwindling cash reserves of just $2.5 million. In after-hours trading, Atari stock was off about a dime to $1.19. In regular trading, Atari closed up a penny at $1.28. 5. This doesn't work. I read a webpage that detailed this exact mod and it displays the colors wrong or at least in very wrong shades. I had a Super Joy 3 famiclone that came in a N64 type joypad and it came with composite and S-video outputs.
  6. I've read that games or just certain games look/sound different on the NES on a chip/Famiclones compared to them running on original NES hardware. Is this true and if so which games and what are the differences?
  7. What is the minimum number you can order usually? Are colored or clear shells a big upcharge?
  8. I'd like to see a Bally Astrocade version considering it's hardware is similar to the arcade's. CV Gorf is only 16k so there's probably room to splice in code from Atarisoft Galaxian. It would be extra cool if voice synthesis could be added ala Squish'em Sam and Sewer Sam, requiring no extra hardware. The C-64 version looked like it had a squashed resolution, all the sprites were fat and squatty.
  9. I'm able to play disk games with BlueMSX. I could never figure out how to get disk games to work in MESS.
  10. I like the Jaguar (classic) version the best but it has a bug in it IIRC where if you use the reverse button, it'll get screwed up and you'll be flying in the opposite direction you're facing and shooting.
  11. The BIOS could be re-written so that level select could be done using a joypad instead of keypad input. The blue level select screen is in the system BIOS, not the game programs really. They could use most CV games unmodified if they just used a different BIOS. Most games only use the keypad to select the level when first starting the game and never use it in-game except maybe to pause. A pause button on a joypad could be wired to the old asterisk button.
  12. IIRC it's on the CV list of unreleased games. The company that made Motezumas was as of recently, still around. They made recent PC and GBC versions. Maybe you could call/email them directly and ask.
  13. A new, small CV using real hardware Z-80's, TI chips, with controller ports in the front, component video output, reliable power switch in the rear, small generic Genesis type power supply, increased RAM, cart slot. SEGA has a custom chip they used in their arcade machines and in the Genesis that combines the CV's TI graphics and sound chip into one chip. Saturn type joypads with long, straight cords. Maybe they can add a number pad in the center. Optional PAC MAN style red ball arcade joystick.
  14. I'm willing to fold the boxes flat so that they'll fit into one box or send them unflattened.
  15. I don't think they don't sell one exactly like yours. Like I said, there are different versions of it. It's on their site here: http://coleco.freeservers.com/proddes.htm "COLECO GRAPHICS DESIGN CART $20.00 - The original program used by Coleco Programmers to create the artwork in Cartridge and Super Games. Capable of capturing full screen s from other games and programs. Edit, draw, and much more. #474" I think ecoleco just copied the program rom and put it on a generic cart but I don't they're selling a big dev cart with switches and empty sockets.
  16. There were these development carts made by Coleco that allowed you to hook the CV or ADAM up to a VAX computer. I read these were also used for ADAM game development. I know that a number of these wound up in the hands of ADAM user group members after Coleco went bust and released all their unreleased ADAM software to the public domain. I was told that there are different versions of this cart. Some have built-in RAM and some don't and are smaller, regular CV size. The ones with the built in RAM allowed you to capture sprites/graphics from CV games to copy or edit. I've had the opportunity to possibly buy a real one in the past from an ADAM user but I read that it's basically useless nowadays unless you happen to also own a working VAX mainframe and the software to interface with it. If this is the same thing I've seen, ADAM's House at ecoleco.com sells a CV dev cart with this ROM on it. I've loaded it into an ADAM emulator and it comes up with different commands you can select with the roman numeral keys on the ADAM keyboard, one of them is 'connect to VAX' which obviously does nothing when used on it's own. CV development wasn't done in Pascal.

  20. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMESE%3AIT&rd=1 Samsung N-501 DVD player/Nuon game system. This was my personal machine and was well taken care of in a smoke free home. Works perfectly. Look at how sought after and collectable the rare LaserActive system and games have become. This is the LaserActive system of the future! The one elusive game system that every collector will want but not not be able to find. This is the only Nuon machine that will play ALL the games and demos. Iron soldier 3 will not play on all Nuon models, it will on this one. It has the most up to date version of the BIOS installed which corrected some audio sync problems. I have a backup copy of the BIOS on cd-r and will include it. I'm also including an early Nuon demo of the game DOOM that was used to demonstrate the Nuon dev kit at the CES and E3 shows, the game Ballistic, the game demo of Bombuzal, an Atari 800/C-64 jukebox songplayer program and the movie Bedazzled on DVD which is one of only about 3 movies that have Nuon features on them. It includes the remote control, a special Nuon gamepad controller, manual and the game Ballistic.
  21. It's based on the SNK/Rock-Ola game Fantasy, http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=&game_id=7754
