Did you mess with the channel 3/4 output switch? Is it on the right channel? Sometime I would get a bad picture if I wasn't using a tv/game switch box it liked. The rf modulator may have drifted out of spec so that it's not completely tuned to channel 3 or 4. If you open it up there's a part to adjust it on top of the rf modulator box.

Go into the room with the giant smiling Otto and shoot to death one of the bouncing evil Otto's that enter the room. -

That's probably why you'll soon be the world record holder. you best recognize! One day when I get off my lazy ass I will hook up my VCR to my TV and buy a blank tape to record my high scores and take the record that is rightfully mine. But why do today what I can put off until tommorow. How can you be the world record holder? The score flips at 999,999 , IIRC. -
I wonder how the video out circuitry works and if it could be easily added to the GBA. No need to buy a GC/GB player to view it on the big screen TV.

If they had any sense they would buy up all the unsold stock from distributers and sell games for dirt cheap but at a profit. That's what Media Play used to do. They had all the cool smaller titles that were overlooked in favor of the latest Madden during the X-mas buying season, for PS, Saturn, DC, N64, at really good prices. I guess at one time Radio Shack served electronic hobbyists. They abandoned that market in favor of pushing cell phones and catering to retards who can't figure out how to hook their component video out DVD player up to their circa 1981 RF only Magnavox TV.

I think I've yet to ever see an arcade game that looks this good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAqYJP4Ni2E...ted&search= -
Could a Vectrex be modified to output to a non-integrated monitor?
Bill Brasky replied to missyrelm's topic in Vectrex
Yeah, I had seen that before but had forgotten. Pretty darn cool. Actually, assuming I could get my hands on a big b/w tv, it wouldn't bother me at all to rewind the yoke, and it would be TONS cheaper than buying an arcade vector monitor w power supply. A quick google search didn't tell me what the largest b/w tv ever made was, but it's GOTTA be bigger than 19", right? (the largest arcade b/w vector) May be time to hit the thrift stores... Why does it have to be an old B&W TV? -

I've seen huge b&w vector monitors used by computer draftsman in the 80's. If you could find one of those that would look great but it would still be flickery because the vectrex cpu is so slow when drawing vectors. -

Bill Brasky replied to missyrelm's topic in Vectrex
It could only output to another vector monitor. I've seen someone run Star Wars and Tempest arcade boards on a Vectrex monitor. I don't think I've ever seen someone try the reverse but I don't see why it couldn't be done. -
The real answer is to get a CV and a 800xl with multicart. Play all the 8bit and 5200 games without joystick headaches.

IIRC, you fly around and collect the 3 pieces that are scattered on different screens, then carefully swim down past the sharks and jellyfish, through the seaweed to the shipwreck. Avoid the giant octopuss and swim to the maiden on the front of the ship.

FRONTLINE on the COLECOVISION
Bill Brasky replied to CARTRIDGE STEALER's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I don't recall exactly what keypad button did what but I know you can jump into tanks/toss grenades by pressing 0 or something on the keypad. If I was just using the regular controller I used to just run like hell past the soldiers in the first part till I reach a tank and then hop in and kill, kill, KILL !!! -
How Frequently do y'all hit the thrift stores?
Bill Brasky replied to midnight magicman's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Never. -
I've got some really cool, violent 3-D adult comics with 3D glasses, Logan's Run movie comic, 3 Blade Runner comics, Gumby 3D, Voltron x2, GI Joe, The 'NAM, 3 Punisher , OZZY Osbourne Rock n Roll comics parts 1 & 2. I know some guy sells the Blade Runner Marvel special issue comic for $8.99 each on ebay and I've got two. Any reasonable offer accepted.

Montezuma's Revenge and the bottomless pit !
Bill Brasky replied to deadmeow's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Someone needs to make an extra complex, expansive sequel to this game ala Pitfall II. No, that crappy PC game doesn't count. -
No, I don't believe it. I've played the DC CV emu's and they're shitty. It might not bother someone who has no idea what the game actually plays/sounds/looks like on the original hardware.
-
Oh you've played them via a shitty CV emulator on the DC that doesn't properly emulate sound or even get the colors correct. Way to judge a system. WORD homey
-
So you've played the entire CV library or just the handful of carts you got with your system and based your judgement on that? Everyone on here who rags on the CV has never played most of the CV library.

Colecovision was carried into the market on the back of Donkey Kong. Barring a miracle of licensing, if it had survived the crash it would have been the first casualty of the next generation...assuming it could convince anyone to part with shelf space for a new console, following both the crash and the high rate of failure in their Adam computers. If in this alternate universe where CV could've survived the crash, they never would've developed the ADAM. The ADAM was reaction to the shift to computers. If they could survive off the CV, why make the ADAM?
