  1. Wasn't there a Lucasfilm BB exclusive game? IIRC, Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine.
  2. It's very cool. It looks just like it does on the Neo Geo/Neo Rage. I believe the levels are original, not just lifted from previous Metal Slugs. There's no blood in the game. I didn't search to see if there's a code to turn on the blood. They give you a health bar that runs down instead of one shot kills like in the arcade. When your health bar gets to zero it's game over. I like this much better than how it is in the arcade.. I think picking up hidden food items raises it. There are continues and I think you can continue 3x. There's 3 game saves. It's pretty hard, at least for me it is. I only play it in short doses because I get frustrated with it. It's not so easy you'll blow through it in a couple days. It requires some finger dexterity to manipulate the tiny buttons on the SP when you need to jump and fire/throw grenades at the same time or fighting bosses. I got it on sale 1/2 off at Kmart for $15.
  3. I sure would hate to cannibalize an ADAM for this. Then I would have an ADAM and would be compelled to fix it . - Jason The four pins are: 1 .+5VDC .9A 2.-5VDC .1A 3.+12VDC .3A 4.Ground The CV plug shape is a non-issue. You could simply cut and splice a different shaped plug to the new PS or the CV itself. Atx PC power supplies can put out the same voltages. I don't know for sure that you even really need a PS that puts out exactly all those different voltages. It may only need a +5vDC to operate JUST the CV itself. The reason for the large, weird PS is because it was designed to not only power the CV but also the ADAM computer with dual tape drives and the 2600 adapter and whatever else you had plugged into the exp port. The exp modules receive their power from the CV ps. If you're not planning on plugging an ADAM or 2600 unit into your CV you may only need a simpler PS that doesn't have all those voltages. You don't have to cannibalize an ADAM for parts but it was just a suggestion for the cheapest, easiest way to find those parts. You know that all those bare, untested ADAMs without games or accessories that get listed on EBay for $5-$10 and don't get bids just go into the trash.
  4. I don't think it was. I've never seen or heard anything about the ADAM in Europe and I've been an off and on ADAM owner/user for 20 years. It likely would've been released by CBS in Europe, not Coleco, and I doubt CBS would've been too excited about it, at that stage in time. Plus, the MSX was already widely available in Europe, which is too similar and there's already a lot of overlapping software.
  5. You may really have a bad video RAM chip but I doubt it. 95% of CV video problems(garbled graphics, black screen, sound but no picture) are fixed by simply just changing the power supply to a different one(CV, ATx or generic). But don't throw out your old PS because often times it'll work fine with another CV. Probably the cheapest source of replacement chips for the CV is an ADAM. All the same chips are there and more and you can buy one for $5-$10 max.
  6. I just bought an Advent 2055 20" flat screen TV from Kmart for $109 on sale, normally $129. The picture quality is great and it has RF, composite, S-video and component video input. I had recently also bought a Philips 20" flat screen TV for $150, specifically for hooking game systems to. I was looking for the Advent TV before I ended up buying the Philips but I didn't know where to find one locally. The cool thing about the Advent TV, according to the specs, they are multisystem(PAL, NTSC, SECAM) on the A/V inputs, but not the tuner.
  7. AFAIK, the Intellivoice isn't actually voice synthesis, since no voices are being synthesized. It's just grainy, primitive sample playback. The Coleco ADAM also has a rare voice synth module called the EVE. I don't know why you would need it though since games like Squish Em Sam and Sewer Sam had voice synthesis done in the software without any hardware add-on.
