The case of Mika73.

They hate Player Two! I can't believe you would even bring that up!

My other Coleco is RGB Scart and other is F18a VGA. I don’t think I wanna use composite..
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkYou could go HDMI to VGA or HDMI to SCART if you planned on hooking the Phoenix to the same monitors you currently hook your ColecoVision to. I agree that would not be an ideal state though, as it shouldn't be necessary to have any other hardware or adapters to have the unit work via HDMI like it is supposed to.

How serious is that HDMI problem? People have told that it won’t work all TV? Maybe you should fix this before make more of these?
Because it would be real bummer if buy one and it won’t work with tv.

There is still an issue with it and certain TV's yes. For example on my Samsung Q70 it will only work for me if I turn on my OSSC (with no signals going to the OSSC) which currently shares the same unpowered HDMI switch as the Phoenix. That leads me to believe if I just used a powered USB switch it would likely also work.
It worked on my 10 year old Samsung TV with no problems.
On my Toshiba tv there was a sound issue.
With the TV issue aside I have been very happy with how it handles Colecovision gaming and ColecoVision games look spectacular on it. The Atari 2600 core feels like it still needs some polish and I have had an issue with getting games to run at times. It seems for some reason that if I don't immediately click on "Start Game" after I load an Atari 2600 ROM then it won't start the game for me it will just be stuck on the Phoenix's 2600 menu.

5th attempt. Released the dog and was 1 block away from twice.
Changing colors is a little annoying at first, but not as much as the music.
The game played a dirty trick on me! That moving bumper in the middle of the screen started flashing and it paused the gameplay right as I was hitting the button to change colors of my flippers, canceling the effect of my button. So this only gave me a split second to react whenever gameplay resumed, which was not enough time to change my flipper. It's like when the guy holds a $20 bill between your fingers and bets you can't grab it when he lets go. Dirty.
That happened to me too

It's in the 2020 club. I didn't think they were adding anything into the 2019 club other than the mystery game

They should but unfortunately with the Phoenix there are some quirks that some TV's do not seem to like. Like on my Samsung Q70 it will be recognized by the tv if I turn my OSSC on, which shares the same HDMI hub.

I'm looking forward to another Colecovision High Score Club season so let's get the wheels turning shall we? What games would you folks like to play? Include the Skill or game level too please. I would like to get started soon. Perhaps we will do a preseason round this weekend. All suggestions and comments are welcome!
I am so ready for this to begin again! My Phoenix hasn't been getting the work out it deserves!

Was going to try and reach out to him, but haven't yet. Mostly because I know he's a hard guy to get a hold of. But maybe now it's worth it considering it's more than one issue to look at.
This is what Pixelboy said in his Christmas post regarding the Ghostbusters ROM and the AtarimaxSD

I just found this topic while searching a way to modify my Colecovision.
I got the console when it came out it france in 1983. So it is a PAL RGB / SCART version
It was still working on my 2013 Samsung 55" smart TV, as there were a SCART connector on it, but I just replaced my TV for a Philips 65", and no more SCART on it.
I bought an OSSC 1.6, which works perfectly with RGB SNES (after I modified the AV cable to use Luma sync )
But when I connect the Coleco, I can get sound, the OSSC shows a sync but I can't get an image.
It seems the Coleco only has C-sync which is not compatible with OSSC.
Has someone already faced that case?
https://www.retrorgb.com/frenchrgbconsoles.html This might help you out a bit and is what the people on the OSSC board were talking about (I think) in regards to it might not be true RGB out of the console and just composite converted to RGB, which the OSSC does not like

It is a steel enclosure from Saginaw...its 20" wide (like my other Experience Controllers), at the peaks approximately 8" tall and 8" deep, and weighs about 11 lbs empty. Depending on what surface you use as the back and/or the bottom, it can feature a 60 degree slope, or a 30 degree slope. I plan to use it with the 60 degree slope as it sits in the above pictures. If you laid it down as a 30 degree slope it would be like driving a bus, or using the Coleco Expansion Module #2...which I never cared for due to its angle although they made it like that to use in your lap.
So now I can take some final measurements and check for clearances, then I'll be able to get the modifications done so that I can mount all of the components. It will of course get painted black, but I'll do all the machining first, so that I don't have to worry about scratching the paint when I'm working with it. Won't be much longer now!
Have you completed this one yet? Really want to see the final result

8 hours ago, jblenkle said:I was wondering about that too as I am fairly sure Collectorvision said on several occasions that more roms would be added to the vault, but none were ever added.
They did say it multiple times but them finally in late November or early December they said that they were no longer going to release the additional ROMs as part of the 2019 club but were adding them to 2020
-
3 hours ago, Special Teams said:Sorry if I missed this - were any additional ROMs added after the initial batch? I went back into the ColecoVision ROM Vault for the first time since last February using the original link sent with the welcome email and I don't see any new ones.
There was a minor modification at one point where a single new ROM was added but nothing after that

Is the 2020 closed yet? I know I am being impatient but I am just excited to get the extended ROM vault and then of course the secret game.

I definitely recommend trying the powered HDMI switch. My current one is unpowered and my phoenix will only work if I turn on my OSSC which is hooked to the same switch but don't turn on anything with a signal on the OSSC

Ghost n zombies
Smurf challenge
The way of exploding Foot.
Only GameSter 81:The video game. Could be released, if John Lester agreed.
They had stated before that John Lester had agreed to having it in the vault for the update that was supposed to happen this year, hope it happens

Interesting update. If I turn my OSSC on which is hooked to same HDMI switch as Phoenix the tv will recognize the phoenix.
Didnt try any games yet but think it will work

I wondered if I would get more points from the tanks being on the bridge! I did after reading manual again realize that I needed to blow up the fuel stations after getting fuel but haven't had chance to try again.
