  1. If you have a RetroTink2X these are essential items because of the dinky buttons and fiddly nature of the RetroTink2X

New PSU with on/off switch for switch between HDMI/DVI modes https://castlemaniagames.com/products/retrotink-ac-adapter-with-on-off-switch

New case so you don't have too mess with dinky buttons when you have giant fingers  https://laserbear.net/shop?olsPage=products%2Fretrotink2x-case

And it's my freedom to write opinion about some members here. And I really do it only when someone gone too far with bad behavior, or just forgetting self. Like guy couple years ago, who got sufficient help, then started to ask for something what everyone can do self.  Help means not that others should do everything instead you.

Like i said if you don't like it ignore it what bad behavior like me trolling you prove it

You got images - then completely unnecessary question. And other, long post, what held even clear lie - about what was told here about STX images.

    Nobody cares about your dribble

That I done with you means not that I will remain silent after your shallowness and lies. Your experience with TV-s ? Seriously ? You can not perform simple thing with floppies, directories and so on - but you can judge which TV is good for retro computing ? You should really look in self . It's not freedom of choice, that's rather elementary culture in communication.  You are who is not polite. I saw many people like you at diverse forums. Just because you have right to write means not that you are right.

    shallowness and lies

I never said once i was right about anything

Shallowness and lies again prove it

And, if you care about your reputation, pls. change thread title.

You don't get too tell me anything what i should do like a demand or a stated fact even with pretty please

Care to explain to us why it's only you with the attitude problem here

I asked about formatting blank ST images in this thread and snarkdluG repiled without getting angry upset or feeling insulted so the problem is with your attitude plain for everybody to see

Anybody else i asked or requested help from as no problem even 6BQ5 offered to format the USB  key for me totally unexpected and i'm very grateful

I'm not surprised you have user name ParanoidLittleMan when you act like a pedantic king dick creep

You did not thank really. You took arrogant and ridiculous attitude about modern TVs - based on what ? On some silly writings, and maybe that some TVs are real crap. Well, I never buy cheap, untrusted HW, Flash cards and like. And I have positive experiences with 95% of it.

My opinions on some modern TV'S monitors is based on my own user experience with brands and research and feedback from the internet

In no way was my so called arrogant and ridiculous attitude personally directed at you as you have done before towards me

Most of what you ask could find answer after 50 sec googling and little experimenting by need.

I posted you ST images - just need to unpack them to your Atari folder and copy files on them - via emulator or some disk utility SW or whatever. But no, you come with really insulting question - insulted my helpfulness and your own intelligence.

That's my freedom of choice as the same for others here

I choose to use Google for my questions or forums if have a problem with this or find it insulting ether ignore it or we can contact the moderation team here and have your attitude problem adjusted

Whilst i appreciate you are very talented in your software works and projects good manners and politeness cost nothing you shown very little so far

You once stated "your done with me" so give it a rest a stop contradicting your self

  4. People are not blind here they can see your super arrogant rude and sarcastic attitude when help is asked for

So just clear things up any newbies new to all Atari ST topics should be embarassed  to ask for help nice piss poor attitude

As for me being a  ungrateful man i have thanked you and others on more then one occasion nice short memory you have

Shame you can't cover your tracks because plain for all too see also have fun wiping egg of your face concerning STX files

  5. Well that's a few things worked out in Steem SSE 3.9.4 i was able to create a blank ST file and format it okay

Next was to  place the blank formatted ST file in HXCFE_file_selector_V1_89 whist using using software HxCFloppyEmulator Manager v1.46 and  FlashFloppy firmware 2.13 on this GoTek drive

Next was to load Mercenary - Compendium Edition in STX file format using HxCFloppyEmulator v2.1.24.1 on to real hardware my Atari1040STE which was successful (supposedly i'm TOLD STX files emulators only and this can't be done)

Once in game using the drive select mod switching too GoTek drive and using slot were  blank formatted ST file is

I was then able to make a game save file in ST format on the GoTek drive slot using CRTL and S  perfect

Using the same game save file  on the GoTek drive i was able to load the file CRTL AND L perfect

In a nutshell it's sometimes possible to load STX  files on real hardware and make game save files in ST format that can be saved and loaded ?

  6. No  DVI-I connector on my display

Using the Framemeister gives me best possible quality picture but a huge price i can really noticed the latency delay with other config i get  good quality display output and less latency delay

The thing to remember is Framemeister is a upscaler both the RetroTink and OSSC  are line doublelers

  7. Thank's i didn't know about Atari 260/520 / 1040ST / MegaST VGA Adapter (HI-RES monochrome) i only have one monitor with VGA input and that's broken

So far as my Atari 8bit setup is concerned it's done in terms of what i want it to do output is S-VIDEO via RetroTink via 1080P HDMI to RGB Component 5 RCA YPbPr Video + R/L Audio Converter Adapter via OSSC 1.6 to HDMI

In terms of systems costing money yes that's the norm but i don't have unlimited cash for one system

As for 1.06 or 1.62  TOS for me that still mean a switch and some games and programs don't like big or small ram sizes

  8. If STX files are emulator only read only files care to explain how i can read from real hardware and HxC you read write those too with real hardware

Fact the market is awash with cheap junk TV'S and monitors you get what you pay for normally if it's cheap as chips then normally that's performance you will get too

If you think their are no latency issues on some modern displays care to explain us why people buy products as RetroTink or XRGB-mini Framemeister or OSSC 1.6 perhaps people like burning money for no reason

  9. No the NetUsBee was not free what gives you this idea

Theirs lots and lots of professional software that insist on high res monochrome output otherwise they just won't work Cubase and midi software are good examples

GoTek drive was already fitted with FlashFloppy that only supports ST files(we have had this discussion before)

CUSB - USB Floppy emulator cased only has read file support kinda fucked if you wanna make game save file in STX or MSA

I'm not interested in buying any old modern junk TV or monitor only to have hideous latency issues

  10. If i compare 8bit Atari 800XL

    £200 800XL

    £20 new PSU

    £10 correct video leads

    £60 modern loading device SIO2SD

    Done and all works

Now compare what STE has cost me

£300 STE with new PSU and recap

£400 XRGB-mini Framemeister with all the needed accessories (and i had sync issues)

    £20 for correct video cables

    £90 NetUSBee

    £10 USB KEY

£200 for the OSSC 1.6 with all the needed accessories

£130 for CUSB - USB Floppy emulator cased

£70 for CUSB - USB Floppy emulator cased to wired correctly as external drive and the drive select mod

If i want monochrome output that's more £££ for a new monitor

If i want better software then FlashFloppy firmware that can write to MSA/STX FORMAT more £££

If i want software just to partition NetUSBee USB more £££

If i wanted the UltraSatan that's more £££ for correct cables new PSU and pay for partitioning software apart from ICDPRO

If i wanted to play as many games as possible for STE that's mod for switching between multiple TOS versions and another mod switch for switching between ram sizes more and more £££

My STE is computer in my collection is only one that keeps bleeding me dry

At this rate should just built a high end PC and downloaded Hatari for free with out breaking the bank and all other bullshit

  11. Just looking at the HDDRIVER  homepage https://www.hddriver.net/ what on earth do i need it's anything but clear?

Do i have to pay for this software because i can't and won't keep throwing money at my Atari STE i don't have a unlimited pot of gold brimming with gemstones and gold coins that's madness

I'm poor as a church mouse

I also found out recently my STE  has a good DMA chip and ICD PRO software is free

More money i just don't have for UltraSatan cased/PSU/new card/DB19 ACSI Ultrasatan cable all this without any shipping costs or VAT yet

  12. Right to be sure i don't fuck up gonna double check some facts

I need 14 partitions each at 512mb each named as C to P using FAT not FAT16, not FAT32, not exFAT, to make 7GB total storage?

I will be using windows 10 (fucking shit OS) Disk Management. I have access to Windows Vista Disk Management would this be easier to use i ask coz windows 10 give me nothing but shit

  13. The drives do not exist when Click on icon to select it, then File, Show Info .

I have made no partitions yet wouldn't know how too

When i had a Atari STE back in 80's it was mainly used as a games machine i never got use it much for anything else because after month from new it got stolen

So in a way the Atari STE and everything else with it is a learning curve for me coz i never really got use to use it back in the day
