Hello my friend, unfortunately I can't figure it out.. Probably I got this wrong I used bithacker and tried to rearrange the 4 segments but nothing remotely familiar was found.. I also looked around the same addresses with Omnivore with the same results. So do you have an extra (for idiots) suggestion for me ?? I'm looking for the following intermission:
-
Frankenstein's monster car for safe keeping..
-
thanks man ! uhhh this looks confusing.. I guess Its copy/paste and rearrange time
-
Hey guys, Back from a little adventure in ColecoVision land. I start looking for the intermission screens, I think there are two ? (the chase and the life up) So far I have found (in sprite format) only the attached clown, which I can easily edit, unfortunately all the others seems to be playfield graphics.. I'm currently searching the rom with Omnivore for something clown-like but no luck so far, maybe I'm looking in the wrong Antic mode ?!?!?

Scratch that.. it was never going to work with these colors.. Maybe I'll return to my original idea for arcade perfect sprites, but that have to wait. On to other things
-
..bummer well never mind I will rearrange the cars to fit the existing colors I guess then I must change the hero, can't have a red monster car.. but what you gonna do ? I hoped at least we could have black as the second color to all sprites, some of the combinations available, are really ugly
-
ok here is the closest I can get, reproducing the original 5 cars in glorious 16x16 pixels ! From left to right, we have: Lion, Machine Gun, Buzz Bomb, Bull, Monster ! I'm currently having problem changing the colors around.. but we'll come to that later.

interesting, I didn't know about Intellivision Death Race.. Back to the hack, since the movie cars are only five, I have to improvise for the remaining five ! One of them will definitely be a modified scull and crossbones truck from the original Bump 'n' Jump. So, four more to figure out.. any suggestions are welcomed. oh the protagonist will be Frankenstein's monster car

Hey guys, you can find my hack for the 8-bit here: http://atariage.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_id=608487 and the discussion thread here: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/284958-pole-position-modest-sprite-hack/ I'm, sure it'll be pretty easy for someone to port the changes to the 5200..

Hello, while scribbling away, I branched out to a different direction.. the game now is called "Death Race 2000" and it will feature all the old favorites (Frankenstein, Bull, Buzz Bomb, ...) I will also try to edit various aspects of the game to fit the mood of the movie ! It is a work in progress, we'll see..

How about Dig Dug 1.5 for the Atari 8-bit (ok it's a hack ) http://atariage.com/forums/topic/287731-mr-do-to-dig-dug-15/page-4

Just for fun, it's not easy to fit him in.. plus he needs a track to go into..

Hey guys ! Thinking about making an arcade makeover of Bump 'n' Jump.. By the way, when the buggy jumps was it always so glitchy ? or my memory fails ?
-
Thanks a lot guys ! I enjoyed every minute of it ! Of course artrag was a great help ! Now that we have double the rom size, I have to ask him if it is possible to have different halls per deck.. Also chuckH good call, we have a life-size Robbie in the entrance of the company I work :lolblue:
-
Hey guys, As far as I'm concerned this hack is complete ! The name Space Venture and the name of the robot (Robbie) are already fixed. Apart from the sound (over my abilities) and maybe multi-color sprites (just dreaming), I can't think of anything more I can do.. so consider version 3.1 the final one. Of course any suggestions are welcomed Thanks for the support.
-
not much.. I shaved a couple of pixels from the queen and the eye
-
Here is version 3.1 with some small tweaks here and there (plus mini Robbie).. Space_Venture_v3.1_(color).rom Space_Venture_v3.1(mono).rom
-
Great let me work on this.. I will gladly change that if someone helped me located it... (I always pictured the hero as a chubby knight) I still remember my disappointment when I first saw it.. but then eventually grew to love the game
-
I don't think it's editable, at least I didn't find it anywhere.. But I am with you there.. I initially started the hack because I never liked the smiley face as a hero, it's just lazy !
-
Hey guys ! Are you ready to help lowly service robot "Robbie" decontaminate the alien infestation on motheship Venture ? He can do that by collecting the access cards and lock the various halls on each deck. Robbie can defend himself using his welding laser to shoot the alien creepy crawlies.... but take to long and the Xenomorph Queen will come after him Enjoy. Space_Venture_v3_(color).rom Space_Venture_v3_(mono).rom

What have been done till now: completely redesigned hero and enemy sprites completely redesigned tile set, including fonts, treasures (access cards) and walls artrag expanded the size of the ROM and converted the tiles to screen 2 mode, this means multicolored tiles (see scr1), also added some missing tile pieces. he also created a script that makes hacking in and moving sprites around a breeze !! what remains to be done: I really need to decide which monsters stays and which goes (I have made more than enough ) change all the remaining texts artrag tries to fix a problem with the laser walls (first level), so that we can edit them too ! little bits and pieces here and there.. I want to release two versions, 1 with the new multicolored tiles and 1 with original monochrome ones !
-
Thanks guys, had a great deal of help by artrag ! he did wonders with the tiles, trying to fit in everything I throw at him.. More info and version 3 are coming
-
Ha I love the baddies sprites !!!
