  1. But it doesn't have the Atari logo on it. That made the 7800, Lynx, and Jaguar really outsell the competition.
  2. The logo means absolutely nothing. Just because I stick a Dodge Challenger and HEMI logo on a piece of shit Kia Rio, it doesn't make the car a Dodge.
  3. Been probably more than a decade since I did anything with it. You can find some info here http://www.nuon-dome.com/download.html
  4. So much sad news these past few days. I did not know him, but I'll listen to some of his music tonight in his memory.
  5. I thought States & Capitals was an official Atari release done by Rob Zdybel?
  6. Could it have been a Philly Classic? I met Curt at PC5. Sadly, I do not have have any photos of Curt from that event, but we discussed some of the really old Atari gear he had there, and if I had more cash on hand, I would have purchased a mint in box 800 from him. My pictures for this event (1st day) are dated 3-20-2004 is this helps.
  7. I have no idea - the RIOT served other purposes so was essentialy "free RAM". I can't imagine when the drive came out that a measly 128 bytes would have added much.
  8. Cheapness. It would have needed 256 bytes of RAM at least, to hold the sector. The only RAM in the drive was 128 bytes contained in the RIOT.
  9. Sounds like the classic symptoms of "cold" or broken solder joints under the key. Pretty sure most 800s had mechanical switch KBs.
  10. Guess the time away really helped - you got this nailed down pretty quickly! This is great news.
  11. Thanks for what you are doing. I do not envy you in the least, but I'm sure you know, all of your work will certainly be appreciated.
  12. I can dump them if you can't find anyone closer to you - not sure if shipping to USA would be cost effective (I'll pay shipping). I don't have a kryoflux type device, just regular drives but that shouldn't be an issue for these.
  13. I can still remember the various "Cracked by Kilroy" messages
  14. I'll second (3rd, 4th - whatever) the nod to the 2600-Daptor. I have a pair, they are fantastic. Makes the emulation experience so much more authentic when using the original controllers.
  15. Terrible news. RIP Curt - you gave it one hell of a fight these past 8 years. My heart goes out to his wife and young child. I really hope all the work Curt did and everything he procured can be saved so folks in the future can not only learn from his work, but keep his spirit alive as well.
  16. This is just terrible. I met Curt briefly one time I believe at Philly Classic 5 - he had a mint boxed 800 he was selling. Sadly I did not have the cash on hand. He loved talking all things Atari.
  17. By the time I was driving and collecting for systems, it was Jaguar games in the $5 bin. I do remember as a kid though, a huge glut of 2600 games going for next to nothing.
  18. 212 in front of you - I think I am down from 214. Poor SainT - I don't think he realized what he was starting with this project!
  19. Scary fact - time keeps moving (seemingly) faster the older I get. I assume this will continue.
  20. Awful situation. Hang in there, hopefully things will turn toe corner for you. Please don't feel ashamed - you obviously help everyone you can in many ways, and karma dictates that you deserve the same in return.
