That's an impressive stack of drives!

Holy shit dude! I'm sat here working on my VBXE picture viewer, and this is a jaw dropping effort! I'll say what has been repeated dozens of times in this thread. If I could have viewed these images back in my early 80s BBSing days! Just - wow.

Unicorns season: Prince of Persia for the A8!
Stephen replied to rensoup's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
@rensoup - keep on keeping on. I know I sort of got caught up in the bashing which started over the title screen. Although I tried to do it in a joking manner (the monochrome Graphics 2 intro), I apologize for piling on, it served no purpose other than me getting a laugh at someone else's expense. I work full-time as a coder, and even when my teammates shit on an idea I have, or do not implement it, or tear apart something I worked on (for pay mind you), it does hurt. I couldn't keep working on projects in my spare time, just for fun, with this level of bullshit so I applaud you. -
Digital archeology - I love this stuff! Have loved it most of my life, it's so fun to be able to find stuff, reverse engineer it, etc. Doubly so to watch the group of people on this forum do it, since I cannot.

Whoa - wonder if that could help make a better MIDI player? Although, I am sure anybody who is capable of such a task, already knows how to parse and send the MIDI stream.

I believe the error 130 is because no filename was specified for the S: (screen) device. Try this: c text.txt, s:text.txt

I always get looks when I mention being on the AA forum. I don't explain it, I just remind people we live in an age where "don't judge me bro" is the norm.

I downloaded a killer MIDI version of 2112 but sadly the player crashes on the 1st tune, not sure why. Most likely a memory issue. I have stereo pokey, covox, and MIDI board in my 1088XLD and the system is connected to my receiver with wall mounted speakers in my office. It really sounds good. Excuse the mess - I'm always moving stuff around. What's not shown here is my Panasonic dot matrix and 64 kB MPP print buffer now connected to the 1088. Oh yeah - different tape deck is now connected as well, recently repaired a nice Technics 3-head deck.

Sorry to derail - did you get my last email from almost a month ago now? I needed info on where and how much cash to send your way.

How do you manage a project of this scale on this machine? Sorry if it's been asked before, SO much info in this thread. What are your dev tools, are you using something like GIT for source control?
-
Awesome! Thanks - I sure hope I can get in on this run.

<jaguar rage mode on>Well sell it to us already damn it. You owe us. Show me the box art so I can nitpick it too.</jaguar rage mode off> Hope people still recognize sarcasm!

I'm not so sure 1.5A at 9VAC is enough to power the 800. What would that be - only 13.5 watts, I think the higher output Atari power supply was 31 watts, which would be 3.5A.
-
Can we see the power brick?

Looks interesting. If this is the pre-order list, please put me down for one. If not, please don't just put me down.
-
Or drink it - sniffing is ok though.

I'm pretty sure it was a feature borrowed from many 2600 games. The starfield screensaver in Star Raiders is super cool for the time as well.
-
Neat idea but that is a massive case to print!

How different things were. I miss the old computing magazines with type-ins and the fact that there were so many different computers to choose from, all with their own "personality". Fun times indeed. I've mentioned many times before, but it was Caves of Ice that my dad & I typed in on my 400 (fortunately it had a b-key installed) only to find out 16kB was not enough, so we had it upgraded to 48kB.
-
Interesting. The new features sound nice, but there's no way I'd give up CP/M, it's the only reason I still have the drive connected.

Which 9VAC C017945 is preferred (Japan or Taiwan)?
Stephen replied to ACML's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
What a tough decision! Made in Japan Made in China -
Ping me if you need some tips for getting this set up. I have a nicely configured full-time 80 col setup I can share with you.
-
Oh wow - sorry if I offended anyone? I merely pointed out I liked a song remake from the 80s.

Unicorns season: Prince of Persia for the A8!
Stephen replied to rensoup's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
How do you do that with a strip of 8 pixels? I don't mean technical details - just fantastic art skills!
