Using the XC-12 as an audio cassette player
Stephen replied to cgfatari79's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Oh yeah - I kept all mu albums and have never stopped collecting. I'm up to almost 390 titles now, with quite a few being double albums. -

Oh man - I can't remember all of them, but it was a large collection. Basically everything my dad collected post vinyl and before we went CD. I'm certainly not going to try to recreate the collection, I'm just mad I don't still have them. I normally don't throw away much and this is why. -

OK - no worries. I just repaired my 1st 3-head cassette deck and while I have all of my old tapes, like a dumb shit I threw away all the pre-recorded ones when I moved to this house 5 years ago thinking "I'll never listen to those again". -
Damn dude - that's terrible. I will drink a beer and play a game of Bruce Lee in your friend's honour.

Interesting question. I downloaded many standard CP/M disks, but I did write them all to floppy with my own Indus GT.

Far as I know, 3.0.14 is the latest.

What tapes do you have? Would you be interested in selling them? -
Good timing. When my dad graduated paramedic school (at 42 years old), he & his partner would JAM to Type O Negative when transporting patients Well, I just spent the last half hour trying to MIG weld stainless and not having good luck. Dad died 2.5 years ago so I can't ask him what I am doing wrong. Sat outside in my shop and cried for a while (feeling sorry for myself). This put a smile on my face (as I sit here smelling my burned arm from the failed welds). Trying to hide the tears from the wife. Funny how these "coincidences" work.

Yes - I love lists. I am on (not being sarcastic) I think 5 just on Atari Age. It's like Christmas year round when orders get fulfilled

Anymore on here, I don't even question it, if the necrobump is < 5 years old. I love the ones where the original poster hasn't logged in in over 8 years, and someone posts a question in reply.

Nuon Game System Talk & Discussion
Stephen replied to doctorclu's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Awesome! I'll try to check this out this evening. I tried this new version tonight. Only file I have on my PC is my shitty Breakout demo and it would not work. It seems if I repeatedly clicked the Display Status and MPE Status buttons it would "kick" the display window into updating, but I could not get any controller response. I reverted to my previous version 0.51 of Nuance and it worked, but the video was all screwed up (wrong colours). I will try to make time to diagnose some more this weekend. Work has been kicking my backside lately, and it's also my mom's b-day this weekend so I can't guarantee anything. System specs are fairly decent - Intel core i-7 4770k, 16GB RAM, NVidia GTX 1080 vid card, Windows 7. -
Can you possibly forward to me as well? I never was able to get a rotary from the original batch.

Unicorns season: Prince of Persia for the A8!
Stephen replied to rensoup's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I guess in this case, the best thing to do, is don't ask for feedback on, or dicsuss about something you're not willing to discuss. If the choice has been made, use it and move on. That's like asking my dog if he wants a piece of steak and then yelling at him for trying to take it. -

Wow - it's so realistic you can smell the skank through the screen and I think I now have an STD -
Any Screen Printing Programs for the Atari 1025 Printer?
Stephen replied to Skippy B. Coyote's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
It's ridiculous that in 2020 we can't just do this with any damn printer that takes in paper automatically (which is what - ALL of them). -
I loved that game. I sure wish I still had my notebook where I wrote down maps and spells. I never got that close to finishing the game - did you?

Definitely ordering one, if funds allow, two.
-
In for at least one.

Just because my OCD makes me want to collect "all the things", I'd buy at least a dozen or two even though I don't have an immediate need for them.

I've spent the evening working on 2 title screens that will match the intro. 1 video (flicker) 2 is non-flicker so just a screenshot Please let me know which you prefer - I can post a working XEX if desired. 1 - Here's the hi-res version with flicker 2 - Here's the hi-res without flicker -
Preach on - if we do it long enough, maybe we can stop this current craze!

Text Highlighting (selector) question
Stephen replied to Stephen's topic in Atari 5200 / 8-bit Programming
VERY EARLY WIP!! I'm happy with this for such an early attempt. Lower status line shows the commands (press ctrl+ highlighted letter to run the command). Currently only 160 and 320 pixel modes are supported, 640 mode is planned. Files are being read directly from my Windows box, the BMP images were downsized and converted to 8bpp using FastStone image viewer. -
What's the issue?
