  1. This is my best work yet. 1 iteration, normal distance 1. Stephen-White-Album.xex
  2. That looks VERY similar to Concrete Blonde's Bloodletting album. I just bought their entire collection reprinted on vinyl. Bit pissed off about the poor quality pressings, but that's not for this thread.
  3. Is SECAM really 128 colours? I thought I remember reading somewhere, that the SECAM 2600 could only do 8 colours. I assumed the computer line was the same.
  4. Me thinks perhaps you should whip up a small batch for sale.
  5. Well - perhaps try in an emulator the following: Latest SDX, with EDDY 2.05, SC 1.03, and Last Word 3.3. Full colour hi-res 80 column text is just an amazing experience on these old machines. If that doesn't sway you, then I am a poor salesman All said in jest, but that above setup just really showcases what can still be done on these old machines.
  6. Had to quote that again - those shells are absolutely gorgeous.
  7. You may want to ping @flashjazzcatabout any repairs or upgrades. He's UK based and does quite exceptional work.
  8. Here's some album covers I did a long time ago (I hate to be a jerk but I must say the forum search really sucks. Spent 10 minutes until I gave up, did a google search, and 3 seconds later, had them. 😞 I mean come on - can't even search the EXACT name of the attachment in the search this topic?!?)
  9. I swear they built that machine to withstand a nuclear EMP and still keep working.
  10. Sorry bob - finally catching up on emails and have responded.
  11. Amazaed Peach Tree did anything for A8. Also, not sure how I am just noticing, the InfoSoft menu using the VERY much underused ANTIC Mode 3 with descenders.
  12. Sparta DOS X will nicely use 1MB of RAM, as will "The Last Word" word processor. With such an expanded system, you can have up to 10 16kB documents open at one time, or even link them for a single 160kB document. I'm sorry - my machines max out at 1MB so I don't know anything that uses more than this.
  13. Nice! I really should get a 16kB CTIA 400 with original keyboard working at some point.
  14. It is quite hilarious thinking of 1MB in a machine which only came with 16kB when I bought it. I do see the 4MB upgrades as crazy insane. Even with my blazing fast 90k/sec HDD, that would take quote some time to fill. It's ok though, this is all in fun.
  15. You'll love the VBXE if you do install one! I can't believe I waited so long between purchasing my 1st one and installing it (over 8.5 years).
  16. It's good for Sparta DOS X, Last Word, several demos (PAL), etc.
  17. I believe that game used characters for the main formation, allowing for 5 colours per object.
  18. Cool to see these being preserved. I wish I had some old VHS recordings of my local cable provider using this system around the 1986 time period. I immediately knew they were using an 8-bit Atari for their display systems.
  19. I seem to recall a new version of APE was released which fixed a bug in the baud rate config. Perhaps you need the latest version to allow the slower connect speeds.
  20. This is why some of us push for only using SDX moving forward. These machines did not start out with 1990 technology and code. They started in 1979 with DOS 1.0. Be happy we evolved from that to SDX 4.49, but don't try to support DOS 1.0 and SDX 4.49 in the same package, and be upset when there are incompatibilities. We've all learned to write better code these past 30 or 40 years.
  21. Shit dude - I'm pulling for you on this one. If it makes you feel any better, I can tell you some awful tales of being a 13 year owner and a 4 year driver of a never-ending project car, 87 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z. PM me so I don't clog the thread, I know you're a fellow car guy.
  22. Can't answer this directly, but there are now timer techniques used (see Space Harrier), that allow full digi playback without blanking the screen, nor stopping the action.
  23. Isn't it funny how many memory locations and error codes we can still remember on these old machines?
  24. Replied on the BBS, but doing here for the benefit of other users. New alias is working fine, thanks for the change.
  25. Search back in the thread to Feb 1st of this year - I think 3 other versions were posted. Great picture!
