OMFG - "Mr. Don't you f'ing dare modify the epitome of Atari Awesomeness" can't accept an internal mod which is both invisible AND reversible, but is OK with drilling a hole in the case. I'm amazed. Typical #management_bullshit though - do what I say, not what I do.

Wow - that's impressive. The sounds and speech are crystal clear!

The only thing I notice that is different in my setup, is I have the CON.SYS (the latest fixed one, which was initially named VCON.SYS) directly below the S_VBXE.SYS driver. Maybe try moving that up before you issue any ECHO commands. Purely speculation at this point.

Can you please post your config.sys (and autoexec.bat if you're using it).

Pretty certain the fill routines are the slow OS provided ones (as in the one that can be called from BASIC). I agree - the computer version of Qix is unplayable. 5200 version is great - I love the sound effects as well.

Look into the mind's eye That's an awesome visual effect as well as a cool way to show what is happening during move evaluation. I love it.

I can confirm everything is working on real hardware with the latest 4.49 code.

Lame. Some people may think the game has crashed when the display goes black and remains off. Can't please everyone it seems.

Winning - I see a future millionaire here. I think I'll cash out my 401ks and IRAs and dump everything in this new token. I certainly can't lose.

Hopefully some debugging without finger pointing can go on here. I know recently an issue with Incognito was brought up, and subsequently fixed. I have no dog in this fight other than respecting all parties involved. Please guys, let's just see if we can get some proper debugging going on here. There's obviously a hardware issue somewhere in the chain.

It really is worth it though - I absolutely adore my 1088XLD with the VBXE. It truly makes the machine feel next-gen.
-
Beat me to it - that was my 1st thought too!

I don't know what's more epic. The P.o.P game we are witnessing being ported, or the fact that emkay earned himself a forum-wide topic ban. Epic skills.

Update that damn SDX

*Atari* 8-bit sightings (movies, videos, and more)
Stephen replied to Larry's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Was watching Inside the Factory, Season 04, Episode 08 - Pencils. Spotted this (it was only on screen for maybe 3 seconds). -
I seem to recall having a similar issue - sorry I cannot provide any help, but watching the thread with interest.
-
That's normal - it happens because the luma bits go from 0111 to 1000 for that brightness. The UAV video mod prevents this, but almost all stock Ataris will exhibit that line.

*Atari* 8-bit sightings (movies, videos, and more)
Stephen replied to Larry's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Holy crap - had to look several times before I saw it. Crazy how our brains pick up immediately on such things. My 1st car was a 76 Cordoba and it only takes me about .05 seconds to spot them in any TV show or movie -
All good points DJay, but you'll get more results talking to a brick wall. Shit's been hashed and re-hashed more times than I can count the past 20 years. It seems that everyone in this tiny hobby of ours is doing stuff for fun, and Video 61 and the 2 people that still work with him seem to think it is a job that will pay their bills. Even more sad is the fact, that I would pretty much guarantee that people that are offering their stuff for free get more via donations (solicited or otherwise) than the people screaming piracy and "we have to protect our stuff". Oh well - I already have more HDD interfaces for the 8-bit than I need, and the Supra will not be one of them. In the end, when (not if) the design gets lost as it will, it's just another piece of Atari history.

You're like PKZIP for 6502 code

Impressive.
-
LMAO - why not ask for a digital download and see how that goes.

There's gold in them there hills! Gotta protect what is "mine" else it is no longer valuable.

Brewing Academy (based in California) should have them. https://thebrewingacademy.com/ @MacRorie would be the person to ask.
