They really should have let Dick/Muttley win at least once. They won a few times in Laff-A-Lympics under the guise of the Dread Baron/Mumbly.

Looks like CBS showed Trog a few times in the '73-'74 timeframe. That sort of fits. It also has a courtroom scene, but the creature isn't present in court.

The only thing I can recall that fits the description is Skullduggery:

Say I've played it 5 or 6 times already. Do I still need to reference the rule book and if so why? If it is to consult charts, then maybe they should be broken out into their own thing for easier access, or put on the back cover.
I would try to keep it from being overly complex if possible. There are way more people who like the idea of AD&D type games than people who actually play them. Going hardcore limits your overall potential audience.
Are there any tactical bits that could maybe be dumbed down for a 'Basic' & 'Advanced' game? Ideally, you'd want it to be playable by a 10-13 year old.

I still play TSR's Dungeon! with my son on a regular basis. Would love to see something new along those lines. I wish you luck!
I haven't used these guys, so I can't say what kind of work they do, but I did look into what it would cost to create boardgame components at one time. The nice thing about this site is they list prices :

Very cool!

Thanks guys. Going to take a little hiatus. May be back, may not - but it's been fun.

I'd buy this. It's addictive as hell.
Many thanks. It makes all the time spent on it worthwhile to know others are enjoying it.
I'm getting close to calling it finished. Another tweak or two perhaps.
Not sure about selling it. I kind of get the feeling the time for something like this may have passed. Most of the games are skewing 16-32k these days, and there's the Harmony and whatnot. We'll see.

The Floyd are still around, just not doing much together these days. Dave Gilmour and Roger Waters still tour from time to time (not together obviously). Search on either of those names and you might be surprised what you find.

If you like that, you might enjoy Opal / Mazzy Star.

It's a pretty cool comic as well.Wow, I really didn't imagine that this could've been based on a comic license
The idea for that probably came from this (not a direct license though):"Ninja Hamster"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolescent_Ra...k_Belt_Hamsters

As an alternative, I want to add that Williams Pinball Collection is probably the best Wii title out there.

I used to have a 1969 Gottlieb Airport. It was a great machine and lasted many years. I went through bouts of playing it all the time and ignoring it. They are unbelievably heavy. If you do get one, make sure you have somebody to help you move it. Keep in mind the more complex the machine, the more likely it is to have something break. My machine was older and mostly I just had to keep changing light bulbs in various locations. I would say it is worth it if you can stay within whatever your self imposed limit is. I wouldn't mind having another one, but space is a big issue for me at the moment.

Thanks for posting this. Did NET not broadcast in color TV in 1968? Sesame Street's first episode in 1969 was in color. Not sure. I was born in '69 and always remember it being in color. If you look at the first 5 episodes on that site, they are all in B&W. Probably the entire 1st season was B&W.
As far as other stuff goes, you can't go wrong with Captain Kangaroo.

Excellent!
Can't wait to see the final product! -
Telengard was the original inspiration for Dungeon:

Another good site (by the original author) can be found here:

Note his mention of the 400/800 being the most challenging port.

HiVersion 25a works great and i did it again.I got the sword, rescued the princess, found the holy grail and killed the demon.
Great game;greetings Walter
Thanks! I appreciate you guys taking the time to test it. I'll be doing a PAL60 version for everybody in the EU soon.

Ok. If you look back up in the top post you'll see dungeon_v25a which has the above requested changes. Give it a whirl and see if you think it works better.

I may change that to where you can use it no matter what. See manual for how it works now.I have 10 SP but it only gives me the Cure Light Wounds. I currently have 5 HP out of 9 Max. My next battle took me down to 1HP and I was able to then select Cure Heavy Wounds.
Hasn't & no it wasn't.Looks like Excalibur's pre-req changed.
Will give that a try (don't forget about run though).New monster is neat, but it really sucks down on your spell points. I'd recommend the lightning bolt be 2 SP instead of 4. If need be, lower the damage a 2SP lightning bolt does to the other monsters. -
Makes perfect sense. I tried to prevent that, but my logic was apparently off. I'll take a look at it.One possible bug: yesterday I was playing a game and the passage to the cave was on the same spot as the stairs going down to the next level. In this instance, I could not finish the game since I could only re-enter the cave and not descend to the next level (hope that makes sense!). Otherwise, the game played very well.
Possibly. I'm trying to hold back a little graphic space for the time being for other stuff. We'll see what's left over.- Any way you can put in a animated swing of you player's sword when you attack? (similar to the animated attacks of your foes)
Thanks again! That's all for now... great job!

One of the problems with these types of games is they are niche to begin with, and within that niche everybody has different tastes. You won't be able to get a solution that will please everybody, so I suggest going with whatever feels right to you. From a narrative perspective, my suggestion would be if you die, your fey companion can sacrifice themselves once and only once to resurrect you. You stay at the same location in the game, you keep everything you have accumulated, but you no longer have the companion going forward. If you die again, permadeath.
