  1. The Cave of the Dead is neat, but it took the game from being quite hard to fairly easy.
Everything will be play balanced out eventually. I figured it would probably be too easy as it was, but I'm too familiar with the game and it is hard for me to judge. How does this sound - it maxes out your hp (to whatever you current max is) and only gives you 10 sp?

I was thinking that maybe you need a couple more chest items:
Hopefully there will be some in the next release.

Maybe Food would make more sense than Chest Heal?
No food. I always hated that in games that had it.

And speaking of spell points, the Cure Heavy Wounds doesn't seem to cure enough. It seems as if 4 Cure Light Wounds heals me the same amount or more than 1 Cure Heavy Wound.
There is a range it can be. And yes, that could happen. Again, I'll play balance it out soon. Everybody please feel free to make your suggestions now.

  2. I saw it with my 5 yr old. I think I enjoyed it more than him. I think the target age is people ~40 who used to watch it after school (I know I did - a block with Star Blazers & Battle of the Planets). There were a lot of the little things you had to know the cartoon to catch, like the Mammoth Car (that is what that's supposed to be). My son enjoyed the racing parts but lost interest during the plot driven parts. I thought there was a little too much of people scrolling left/right right/left across the screen. Yes that conveyed a lot of information quick, but it got kind of annoying after a while. It's a good film - a bit long for the younger set. I'll be getting the DVD. And I know they couldn't do it for plot reasons, but I really missed the "Racer X is actually..." speech that was in just about every episode.

  3. I saw some things with an arch across the top and a line at the bottom but don't see anything about them in the manual for V11.

Now that I think about the description, it may be an open door. Was it black? The 1st one you come across is on level 3 immediately to the left of the up stairs.

If you don't have the key for that level they show up as a wooden door (brownish) with a door knob and if you have the key they are the open doorway (black).

Hmm... Maybe a door (when you don't have the key to open it). Was it brownish/yellowish?

There was a couple screen jumps that occurred when I cast healing spells.

Thanks a lot! I'll jump on that.

Finally found the Princess! I think you should have her waiting at the castle(level 0) if you've found her.

As it stands, she's waiting for you if you win the game. I never thought about people going all the way back up after freeing her. I'll look into that.

  5. Agreed, this is pretty cool!

I did notice a number of screen jumps while playing on the Atari via the Krok Cart, mostly during battle sequences when I took damage.

Thanks as well! I haven't loaded it on my Krok yet (guess I need to quit procrastinating). I had a feeling there might be a few jumps here and there. I'm still in the process of going back and optimizing things (it's pretty ugly at the moment).

  6. Wow - this looks great! I've been playing for the last couple of days and must say I'm really impressed...

Coming from you that is high praise indeed! I really appreciate it! I am in awe of your stuff!

Thanks for all the suggestions as well. I'll see if I can't do something about the stairs (at the moment the only difference is the color). As for the rest, hopefully at least some of that may see the light of day. The Holy Grail and at least one more monster are on the current to-do list.

  7. Never knew the Connells also had a second song

That one would probably be considered the 1st. :)

(The Camper van Beethoven one is a Status Quo cover, no? Or is that the original?)

    Cover.

38 Special (one last Southern rock band)

And this doesn't fit into any of your categories, but I always thought it was funny:

  8. I started several, but only completely finished one. It was an environmental piece about a spotted owl and a lumberjack (played by a bear). The bear was destroying the owl's natural habitat. So of course, the owl's only recourse was to attack the bear.

    With a chainsaw.

    :)

That sounds hilarious! How long was it? If it's impractical to post, how did it turn out? The owl do away with the bear?
