Danke vielmals! I have a box protector waiting for it.

That's not normal either. I know several of the people who helped playtest used 7800's and nothing like that was ever reported. Sounds like the cart may have issues. You may want to PM Al. Nice to see a fully constructed one. Great work!

A link for those interested in the compo: http://www.minigamecomp.org.uk/

High praise indeed! Many thanks Stan. Glad you are enjoying it! That was the general idea. As well as being able to complete in a reasonable time frame for those of us who are a bit older and don't have the free time we did when we were younger. You don't HAVE to track down the princess, but it can be a bit of a downer if you don't. Unfortunately things work out that way some times. Roll of the dice. There is only 1 pair of boot, 1 shield, & 1 crown. There is also only 1 faerie, but she has a habit of getting around. There is a way to get her out of you life though (without flipping the difficulty switch) . Thanks again!

If you like that, you might enjoy Opal / Mazzy Star.

No harm. No foul. My early games were all bB, Dungeon is a hybrid, and now I've moved on to all asm. In the end though, it all about your creativity with what you have to work with. You may want to check this out, the latest versions of Bifrost (my blog has earlier versions)- http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/143125-bifroest-2k-2600-game/ Anyway, I wish you luck with your own bB game. I hope to see one of your carts in the Holiday Sale one day! - David

Not sure what your point is, but yes bB is credited in the manual.
-
Bifröst(2k) is 1580 lines of asm. And for those interested in such things, Dungeon (32k - although only actually 22k or so) is 5247 lines of bB code/inline asm, with a resulting asm file of 21802 lines.

Looks like the 1k vote pack is up. You have to e-mail your votes though - more problems with the site . Interesting looking 8-bit Yar's port in the 4k section. Haven't tried it yet.

My bB games. Phantom II/Pirate - My first released cart. Games written using one of the earliest versions of bB. http://www.atariage.com/software_page.html...areLabelID=2756 Star Hawk - Never released on cart (never completed). Took 2nd in the 2k category in the 2007 mini game compo. http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=112097 1775 - Never released on cart. Something I threw together for July 4th, 2007. http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=109605 Cold War - My game from the Stella's Stocking cart. The full cart bin has not been released. This is a bug fixed version. http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=136411 Phantasm - Bin for this will never be released. Sorry. http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=144272 Dungeon - Cart will be released soon. Has a little asm mixed in. http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=127378

Typically people post their game in the "Homebrew Discussion" forum when they get serious about a release. The following two games are scheduled to be released in the store when it comes back from "vacation". Dungeon http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=127378 Cave In http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=116030 Solar Plexus, Phantom II/Pirate, Gosub, & Stella's Stocking were all in the store previously. I think the ET Book Cart was also at least partially written in bB. There have also been several independent releases that were bB games (don't know them all off the top of my head - the most infamous being The Last Ninja & NERDS).

Nothing much. Still waiting for Dungeon to come out in the AA store. Also waiting for the mini game compo (up to 3 entries now in the 2k category!). Since I don't know if I'll do anything with Bifröst later, I went ahead and had a personal cart made of the compo version. Figured Al was busy enough, so I got CPUWIZ to do it. Just want to say he does quality work.

Got mine today. Here it is next to the autograph version.

It's a pretty cool comic as well. The idea for that probably came from this (not a direct license though):http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolescent_Ra...k_Belt_Hamsters

Yeah. A variation of this turned into the EE game on Phantom II/Pirate. It had some neat effects (the eyes in the wall followed you around), but the gameplay just never clicked. I can't remember which version of bB we were on back then (.35 maybe - possibly earlier). I'm sure I have a copy of it in a folder somewhere, but it's not that interesting.
-
Thanks John. I appreciate that. Any progress being made on STB? - David PS I had completely forgotten about the SE version of Pirate I did until I saw you mention it the other day. For those who like Pirate but missed it the first time around: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...t&p=1231667

Yep. It's in the queue with everything else (Juno First, Lead, etc.) When the sale kicks off is beyond our control. And yes, there will be a neat "extra" with the cart. Al sure has a cool avatar, don't cha think?
-
I'm hoping to play around a bit with the speech synthesis capabilities of the AVox.
-
The current version is going to be the final compo version. Whether or not I do anything else with it is going to depend on if the AtariVox is available again whenever the sale kicks off.

2600. This is very cool! I can see this being quite fun when you get it a bit further along. Score going to be in the box on the bottom?
