  1. Because if is going to be that 4:1 ratio using 16luminances black/grays&white then the guy and other choosed things to use PMGs can only be in 2:1 ratio.

  4. GR.15 Bitmap mode 4colours no 'Badlines' that was the way they got to have on the road each scanline freely turning using hardware horizontal scrolling in the 2directions. EDITED: So, from this you easilly get why they had to go for that solid side of the road signs and the constraints in trying to put something inside them.
  5. Yes, that is the reason for the solid signs. Whater you do or you even can't do anything on signs .

No way because the limit is a maximum of 2cars per line that is the 4A8 Players (2 in Multicolour mode on each) then remaining 4Missiles are all used on the road sides signs in 5th Player taking the PF3 colour so there's no way to have any gfxs inside them, at least without using the PFs that would need to do a big, if not all, redesign of the game.
  7. I would have to play to see wich or if all of the other colours 'pseudo blacks' are used in the different cars... EDIT: I also don't remember now if is [tires]_Oring_[back of the cars] = [front of the cars] OR [tires]_Oring_[front of the cars] = [back of the cars].
  8. For example: -> Player on the tires is (90) darkest cyan; -> Player in the back of the car is (2A) orange; Then Oring the two gives the front of the car as a green (BA).

Each car is made of quadruple width 2Players using PMGs Multicolour mode in this way: -> Tires is one Player in luminance 0; -> Other colour is the other Player; When these two overlap creates the Oring 3rd colour. The tires aren't black but indeed one colour from 1->F that Oring gives a 3rd colour. They seem black but they aren't black, they're some colours of (1->F) in luminance 0 that better can 'fool' people eyes on tv to seem a black that isn't/aren't .
  10. Not totally and I just tried from a picture and is: -> If at that top&right is BAK then that pixel is PF2; -> But if at that top&right is PF0 or PF1 it puts that pixel as BAK; -> And if is PF2 or PF3 then it doesn't put that pixel;
  11. Strangelly that for many years most (if not all) of the G2F versions that came up always put this pixel when you import a P.C. picture at this place over whatever colour is the BAK register. If I'm not wrong is always PF2. Solution: Just Zoom and change for BAK pixel or Bitmap Edit and FoodFill with BAK if you have good eyes ...
  12. @MaPa: It's direct port gfxs from C64 so on all outside levels over the ground black is always one of their Colourmap/Colouram that's similar to ours PF2 & PF3. Sn we could always set black as PF3 and then use 2Missiles in quadruple width on each side in 5th Player mode. Problem is that our Flimbo guy is using all them. I may have a solution for having the black sides borders but will leave the idea for explaining it to the coder(s) in privat then contact me.

  16. And wait untill next Saturday when in SillyVenture will be released a port of another old other 8bit machines game that also features some never seen on A8 things. I can't reveal its name now but though there will not be the final version is still playable and mostly done. You just have to wait less than 2days ...
  17. Just download it and I think there's a thing that we could do to improve it. On 1st (inside bar) black seems to be PF3 and also seems to be on the balloon outside. Is it also on the bartender screen? Why? Because it seems that our guy is only using the 4Players so maybe Missiles are free and these could be used (if in all screens black is PF3) to have the side borders in black puting one in ecah of the sides at full high to cover that BAK register colour (and what bad looking it's on the ballon screen because of that sky/ground DLI that cuts the sides beer machine and stairs): P.s.- If isn't black PF3 in the bartender it even looks good as a continuation of the wall like is now so on this one it could not be used the 2Missileson the sides as 5th Player.

  19. Yes guys are soft sprites while our guy is PMGs 1+1 Multicolour modes with oring gives him 3colours if I'm remembering it right...
