I've been trying some screens of some games.
What it's the major idea behind artifacting.
See this screen for example:
It's simple por to g2F and .XEX saved.
I now trying to put some DLIs and PMs. to enhance colours, but I can get more colours using artefacting. Taking this image as example, someone can give some ideas (Greens for Tree artifacting, Pf colour for Backgr. and so on.)

Yes,it was. And I think it was similar to that old unreleased "Simo..." but not the same game.
Many of the floor was ground and not buildings. Our Player ship, I don't remember if it was also an helicopter.
But for sure, it mixes 80 with 160 horizontal wide resoluition.

Hello people.
I have this idea for years. I never post here, because you could think it was silly!...
Here, in the center of Lisbon is a closed store (1200m2) for some months in front of one of the most knowning shopping centers. My idea is rent it to create a small museum with all the machines, posters and all kind of things. But with a two in store departments:
1 - Pins, t-shitrs, and sell of Atari modern games.
2 - Contact with Nolan Busnell to open the first of it Burguer's Shop outside U.S.A. as a franchising.
Get with Atari/Infogrames the rights to open more franchising stores like this in Europe/World.
Get you coders around there with a good payment, to do all that lost/unreleased games on A8. Create a virtual WEB place where we can play or download to mobile phones, them and all the others A8 games.
Dream does not cost anything.
But first I have to start gambling.

Hello.
I saw it on ATLANTIS GAMES GROUP page some months ago!... I think I'm not crazy.
I rememberer it was a vertical shooter with 160 and 80 resol. mixed, I think... (an helicopter, as the main player...)...

What about a look at NINJA? The game is somehow the best one , when it comes to asian art of fighting.Many moving objects are around and there is no limit at the overlay.
Not sure how it is done, but for sure, some graphics could been added where only some DLIs has been done.
The game is even outstanding by the usage of Shurikans and Daggers. When the dagger hits with the wrong end, it causes no damage... and so on.
err, Yeah, you obviously know best. Please tell me how to convert Fist and also please tell me how you'd enhance Ninja when you don't know how it works in the first place. You're starting to sound like José

I have Sife00.ARC to Load.
I get the super arc/anarc and load it on Atari800Win Plus. O.K.
Try to put sife0.0.arc on Disc Drive nº1 and unarc it, like if I done on the past with my real Atari800XL.
But I I get error 130.
Someone help?

I've been reading this one. So, I started thinking what was better in an A8 new model if I was on that time.
The most important thing it's 100% compability with the oldest models.
I started yesterday my Web finding to remember/learn all adresses from A8. Then, I join my ideas in some not used adresses.
And this new machine (VA8 - VIRTUAL ATARI 8BIT) could be like this:
1st - The same resolutions/PFs/DLIs./Overlaps/... Like older real ones.
2st - Improvement on PMs. The most important for me in a games machine.
A.) - FOUR NEW PMs.:
PM5/6/7/8
Find 5 unusued locations - 53261-PM4 / 53262-PM5 / 53263-PM6 / 52264-PM7 / 53276 - all this 4 missiles joined (I call it now P9) - Hardware COLOUR registers (read only).
The same oldest ones: 52266->53269 - PM0->PM3 Hardware COLOUR registers. P5 in PF3 colour (Now I call it P8) here 53275, and/or new adress 53275
53270->53273 - PF0->PF3 " " " . Backgr. Colour in 53274.
(16 colours registers)
53275/53276 - This 2 are free - I am thinking what to put here. No PF0/PF1 on Inverse because it will be impossible to maintain compability, as I will explain later.
53277 - 0 Disables all PMs and 3 enables them (for the oldest and the newest).
53278 - collision register cleanner (the same).
54279 High Bit of PMBASE here (the same).
B.) - PMs. SIZES:
53256 - P0 size and new P4 (same size as P0)

This could be done without any new chip?
And now, if this are unusued adresses, it will be possible to simply add to an emulator, and have a virtual new A8?

Emkay, as you can see this is from oldest 400/800 models that need BASIC cartridge.
On the end the author says to try in a XL (Basic inside) and now in a real machine.
Mine is broken. Who can try this?

I didn't say I will not use you or others help. I always say THANKS.
I only give an example of a simple picture with only 4colours, and don't understand why G2F don't simply port it straight away.
I just added some ideas of what it could be in a better G2F. I think I am free to put my ideas and feelings.
You probably have to read carefully my thoughts. If G2F ports direct that screen, I will not use more programs!
If G2F gives us the possibity to change pictures with 4/5 colours per line and with DLIs. only one program needed. I never said there I will not use your or any others help.
If all put their ideas, probably, future G2F enhancements or other programs may have best features. If I was a coder I would like to ear others, even if I think that their ideas doesn't work, I will probably stop some minutes and think!... His idea doesn't work on that way, but he is probably right and we could have that, but, I can do it on another way. same idea, but done with another way. The most important is getting the best results on the end.
And this take you 30seconds to convert... Probably if G2F have, just 1/2 seconds.
By the way, I've been trying G2F Creator, but version 1.4 and it automatically changes picture to 4colour(and save on .MIC extension), or in Grey colkours and unused colours, so you can have them side by side to better enhanced G2F screens. I also tried in the past the other one there, the EXTRACTOR, I think it's here that I can choose each 4/5 colours in each line. I will also try this one when return to my house.
This is not to say that I will not use your helps or not take on account your posts, it's just to say that I'm not, and never was, seat and wait to others helps and do nothing.

Even a simple screen with 4 colours and G2F do this:
I take this C64 screen from Lemon, just to show you:
C64 Screen
As you can see, it's only 4colours (3+1 black for Background)
And on direct port to G2F I get the above/1st one. And Smart Colours Disable.
How it is possible? Why G2F turn things so hard to us. This happens with me, many, many times.
Sometimes I feel that if I take hours changing a picture and then get it all messed, better do nothing.
Why they don't simple create a LOAD BMP without any changes. We start changing there on G2F to Atari format 4/5 colours, with colours according to our needs (PMs. prioritys, DLIs,...) by line, with DLI smart colours added.
G2F knows the DLIs changes, so, direct conversation to A8 format. And now it's time to just add PMs.
If this was created, we never need PAINT, PHOTOSHOPS, GIMPS,...

Could you put here some kind of a instructions mode by mode, registers, places on letters with correspondent colours? With some little basic programs, too?
Probably, in some way it will be possible to create a char editor.
I am trying to read all you say, but sometimes, probably my different language...

Probably this amy seem a little bit strange, but I think you can give me the answers.
- Create one charset in each line on ANTIC Mode4 - 128 chars with PF10 and another 128 with PF11. Screen with 25 lines, soo, 25 different charsets. How much memory takes this screen?
- 1Software sprite with 4chars(horiz.)x5(vert.) - same question?
- 1 Player (8x16) normal size - ?
- The same player but with size2 - ? and with size4 - ?
- The Player - size 0 - with 10 different shapes - ?
And how many different shapes could you do of the same Software Sprite?
The same for a Player?

Hello.
Some of you may be surprise or felt I was angry with you, because I didn't post anything yesterday.
(yes, I posted so many in past, probably it may seems a little bit strange)
But no, I've been trying to start a new way of doing things.
I started with a game map, static and dinamic objects, all sprites shapes (and their positions on the different screns), walktroughs,...
Then I beggining to see the best way to put on A8.
Because I need a Software Sprite Editor for some objects and Sprites and only 0/127 and inverse (128/255) in Antic4 mode. I would not have space to all of them in only one charset. I went to G2F, and learn how to create 1 charset in each line. In this way I can reserve 00/39 (PF10) and 128/167 to inverse ones (PF11). the free chars will be used to software sprites, and I also redesign all their shapes in A8 resol. with Paint program. I also done the same about PMs. and their priority mode.
About PMs. I have some programs around... Also about Software sprites...
But, the reason I am here know talking with you, it's because I need some help.
- Screen graphics in G2F, with each line=1 Charset. In wich name file (". ") will I save my screens to use them in future to put softsprites and PMs.?
- Which program is best to create all software sprites (I need one with Antic Mode 4, because I have some static objects that needs PF3 colour) and save them in the free char areas in each line (higher than 40 and 128 on inverse mode)? I need to join G2F screen with SoftSprites.
- The same thing about PMs.
When I have some screens and all shapes done it's the time to show you.
I thing I get somewhere now. If not, probably I am now learning new things. I'll try to do the many of the things myself, because I think it's the best way to learn. I'll try to put you questions, only when I cannot have the answers...

I only have ideas. But it's just because I like A8.
I always see people around express their ideas. And it's what I am trying to do.
When I say a name of a game, it's because I would like to see it on A8.
I don't want people do the things in the way I say.
When someone says it does no work on my way, I simply, start again. Spend hours of thinking, seeing screens, playing,...
Then, I send another post with my new ideas. All my ideas are only to have the best as possible on A8. I probably have some ilness
about almost all the A8 games on the past. Like they say in Atlantis Games Group: "We're here to change that".
I tried in the past, but no way. I didn't have any help about codding. I think it's to late to learn.
What I don't understand, it's why you don't like others opinions, probably, it's not this, but it's what I feel many times.
Another thing, it's that I also have the feeling that when you start to read my posts, you probably don't understand, or not read all.
I don't want that people do what I want. I don't think coders are silly ones, or don't know what they are doing. But, as like all in life, we are not alone. I only start trying to help PeteD about A8 things.
I have to admit that I probably said some things here today, that are not true, probably PeteD wants to do his best. But so am I.
I was very angry when TMR see TMR's post and start to read the programmer's post. I feel like stupid one around here and you all like dictators.
It's why I answer in that way to TMR. I have to give him an an apologize.
As, to PeteD, it's probably different ways of seeing things. I started to send here many post, because I want to be usefull to the A8 community. PeteD probably think it's better only to put things when they are 100% done and probably his right. An apologize To Pete too.
I only want one thing from you: Give me a chance, it's impossible that all I said here don't work. Some can work. Can I continue to give my ideas (O.K. without so many screens...)? But don't kill my A8 ideas. It's a way I feel I am ATARI ALIVE.

Hello to all.
I tried AIS and it is simple and great. A great thank to the authors!
I have some questions, if someone can help me, I aprecciate.
I mess with some pictures to test this program and save them in RAW, CIN,... Then I saw in the XEX folder all that program to use on A8 emulators.
I load them to my Atari800WinPlus. I think this are the programs to load this files created in AIS. Am I right? But in each of them I cannot discouver the keys to Load function. Can you help me, or say where I can get instructions to eachone of this programs?
Other question
I want to use my pictures in the future with other I have in .BMP format. For example join AIS pictures with others .BMP using PAINT or that I can send and freely see them without using A8 Emulators. The only possible away I see it is load AIS picture to A8 Emulator and then using SAVE SCREEN. But first I need the answers to my first question. But, without an Emulator what is the other ways to convert this AIS Images to .GIF,.BMP,.PNG?
Another question
AIS put a line with 4colours. I choose the four I want. I know they are PF0,1,2 and Backgr. But from the first to the 4th one, can you tell me wich are Backgr., PF0,1,2?
Last question
I put some images in .MIC format, then I tryed to see what I get if I use them on G2F, so that I can use DLIs. and PMGs. to enhance the no. of colours. I got a totally understanding screen, with all pixels mixed. I think it is because AIS is a bitmap mode
and G2f a char mode. But can I use this .MIC in G2F in some way?
