    here's a bunch for posterity... I said 3 colors but the light grey one is pretty much fixed... so you've only got 2 colors to play with!

    I have to agree with @Jacques because also don't like the purple/violet.

    Here's ours team back then Palace looking (adding just the vest from you):

    It's brown (16) or (F6) then a yellow but more sand like (EC) not real yellow (EE).

     

    Edited: Also please notice the difference on the windows, I think that is better looking ours having the brown around then inside light colours caming from the outiside (white and yellow) but also the [x] metalic lines inside. It makes much more sense and as in the reality...

    Of course that yours stones look much better though 😏.

    This is:

    BAK: Black;

    PF0: Light colour;

    PF1: Blue;

    PF2: Pink;

    PF3: Green / DLI / Blue;

    So this way there isn't PF2&PF3 clashes;

    All guys are software sprites and PMGs are on Mappy.

     

    Of course that this was just a 'quicky' so gfxs must be improved...

    It's better having it, like I said in a own charset but to also to save Memory it can be in GR.1 mode because 64chars are more than enough though it is redone to 7scanlines high instead of the original 6.

     

    On the game-playing area the windows on the roof are now redone and I think that's the best we can have.

     

    Now will go to other objects and then the guys sprites...

    Yes, first @Synthpopalooza then me but sadly no ones takes it 😞.

    It would be fairly simple as is described by me above with our guy PMGs then others soft sprites and using charmode on an Antic4 screen.

    Just to inform the all Team members are still alive and well.

    What we have and can be is DLIs of PFs colours across the screen so is BAK colour register on top roof black, then blue, next brown/orange and black lines on the floor and finaly again black.

    On that red and light brown and black (gfx chinese symbol) top will be PF0/PF1 and red & lightest around symbol as PF2/PF3.

    Enemys are also trivial: skin as PF0, purple (one of the clothes) as PF1 and then one have PF2 (cyan) while the other has PF3 (white)

    At least the PF2 and PF3 can change according to wich type of enemys are on screen (also one, like PF2, when shows the steps to go for the upper/next level/fllor).

    This way we can even try and have the game in 48Bytes wider Mode.

    Just a quick similar to A8 colours using P.C. program Paint but you get the idea.

    The top panel is also not difficult and can be done also with DLis with our guy and serpent maybe using just PMGs.

    And the 4Missiles are still left to use somewhere...

     

    P.s.- I'll leave the gfxs and sprites for @TIX 😁

    @Yaron Nir the way to go and follow what we're doing on Wonderboy is having it, like I posted, similar to NES so that enemys can use PFs/soft sprites.

    It can then/after maybe adding some things on walls, even the pillars.

    We can improve the roof and floors because they're on another lines as we can also have the left and right side end of the building like @pseudografx posted here.

    His screen looks good but from there we'll never get the guys because there's already the 4colours on wall and if this then there's no colour for guys skin, a 2nd colour of the clothe (and 2x because can be 2types of enemys each time on-screen). From him we'll only have white and black to use so it'll always be missing, at least the skin colour...

    Lets just think in WonderBoy by now 😉.

    The fire pits on different frames once is yellow and other is pink. As is, I think, form the conversation that their're Missiles 5th Player mode/PF3 it would be better always same colour, right? And yellow the best...

    And the bottle, why is it flickering? Is it same using Missiles 5th then maybe a DLI to set other colour(s)?

    No, the coder @PeteD did that and disapeared a long time ago...

     

    P.s.- Thanks to some 'haters around here'... And he was trying and maybe had some code as he said me for we have Exploding Fist. I tried back then to contact him but he didn't answered so I hope is still fine 👍.

  10. I didn't had web on the last days so I already contacted who was expecting.

    I also had been out of here for the Wonderboy port and only today posted the things people expecting from me.

    Yes I know that I've not been well to Fred_M but I'll pay probably it'll take Months but I will.

    And just for you all know there's all true in what I said and yes the teeth are in the situation they are but no I never take any drugs in my life bbut you can go inspecting why because here in Portugal there's many like me because the public medical care doesn't include mouth, teeth,...

    As for asking help yes I did and have but here rents are coming so high they are constantly dropping help.

    I've all in place as a citizen without any drugs, police, states all is clean and was never thinking in asking here.

    Yes, maybe life problems will continue but you can all believe or not but all this was just when I came into a situation that I really hadn't nothing more. It may sounds difficult to understand but is the true.

    To be here answering you and contacting team behind Wonderboy I had to go out and do some travel because I don't have Net at home nor I have IPhones, just and old mbile phone and a small payment of 3,30€ per week that is the least I could get for net on the phone.

    I know that I didn't do tjings the best way and it seems so but had been here for years so I wouldn't go away or had been for so long waiting yers after to take money from people.

    I need you much as A8 and things I do and/or try to do are what sometimes can keep me alive and having things to do, keeping me as is doing something.

    I just wanted to answer and help because if I'm not mistaken it was by @Creature XL that seems is out of here for some time May 31st last year and I hope he's fine (or @Eagle maybe not).

    It was the screen divided in 2 where one is using, I think said by him a hardware horizontal scrolling while the other is 'above this and scrolls in software.

    It was a nice effect and I think it was using Bitmap mode GR.15. Maybe if the two have a black 'over' division it could be using Char mode GR.12 or GR.13 because it'll prevent a PF2/PF3 clash, wouldn't it?

    So I'm used from Mariuszw,... conversions/ports that normally guys pixels (white) are bit_1 (ours PF1) and black/darker/sky colours are bit_0 (ours PF2) so just seeing that tiles of map1 in about 1hour I turned them all to black&white (PF2&PF1):

    That's because I just replaced ZX's .png using same name Tiled just automatically produced it for A8:

    The exactly objects, information, enemys,... on the .tmx(for also later turn into black&white) are there also.

    If you can use Tiled and port Z80 code directly (@Mariuszw, @Tezz, @shanti77 if have time can be a great help if you aren't used to) and we have already level1.

    In a couple of days I can do all the levels so after what it'll take more time is to PMGs colour each screen (like, for example, we did at Highway Encounter, Skool Daze,...) if there's enough Memory for it...

    P.s.- No scrolling and screen per screen like ZX and Bitmap mode GR.8 so no worries for the number of chars.

    @explorer how can I remove these colourings, anotations, etç... and just show the map as real looking screens that is using the tiles just like they are?

     

    P.s.- I'm used to create the chars/tiles using A8's G2F then with the .png I just simply build the map and coders so the rest:

    Why I'm asking is that I just wanna try to turn and post how it'll look in 2colours for a later possible or not see if the PMGs colourings could look anything good screen per screen...
