Humm... Is there anywhere a map with all the screens? It maybe all not difficult like Sabouteur, Manic Miner, Jet Set Willy 2019,... though not exactly but I certainly would go for hi-res.
Just think that first of all you take ZX version that all guys (hero and enemys) are white so other colour is black and you have your problem solved.
Don't worry has first you have it all black&white because then and after there maybe a solution using A8 PMGs to colour it. I don't know of Mariuszw lately but I, him and maybe Tezz can give you the colourings help you need.
Just convert, port whatever you wanna do in black&white hi-res that for sure on A8 will need to be better a Bitmap mode GR.8 320x then for sure colours will come...

How will you get Prince and enemys?
On ours team we have on all levels white one of the PFs then from Ste86 frames I could get things using Prior like:
-> Prince: PF0_white for clothes, and sword then PM0/PM1 for is skin that Oring PF0 gives his light brown/yellow hair;
-> Enemy: PF0_white for the tunic and sword, PM0 and PM1 for the trousers and shoes while Oring PF2 will get its skin;
If in levels you have carefully choose of the PF2 colour oring it can gives always a brown colour F for the skin the enemy's.

Humm... I'm the only one or perhaps not that thinks if a coder wants can be easilly ported to A8 in a Frogger way.
Different hardware scrolling zones on enemys and platforms PFs with DLIs for change their colours acrooss the screen while the guy will be made of the 4 A8's PMGs.
Only cannot have is GAME OVER while the crabs are under and bear at the top 3colours but there's also 2 at the ground
but we could also have it 48Bytes wide mode that, of course, the C64 can't have 😀...
But don't know if is really a game we need...

Having 2guys PMGs multicolour per line than other stuff moving around like it happens on certain screens as soft sprites (so have BAK_black, PF0_red and PF1_yellow common on all in-game scanlines):
(Total colours on-screen by now are 29)
The guys can have many colours across their bodies using DLIs (like are common on Activision old titles and in Callisto shoot'em'up game)...

Hi.
Sprites looking for those different possibilities later on... but for today here's the Loading screen in usual Bitmap mode and no DLIs but some more luminances using the PMGs (in a similar to what I already did and you can see on the A8 version of Skool Daze).

I'm here using blue colour_7 because is the one I like more (on skool Daze I choose a brown because it had more to do with the furniture and wood grounds old school idea me/we usually have) but there's a nice effect that could be done that is like many games did on the past is having a blinking effect while loading (just changing PF2 and PF3 more the 4Players though on the past were only the PFs on letters, that change).
This way it'll look like this (here not with the side borders just because on G2F and in 32Bytes wide mode we can't have them and didn't though at first to put screen is 40Bytes to at least have some part of them but you get the idea):

From ZX's version the game has 36screens more a text one so if isn't all that hard that if it'll make it possible on the Spectrum will also be on A8.
Also C64 on those soft sprites bouncing (maybe because of a slower machine it is...) only seems to have a maximum of 2 while ZX have 4 and maybe we also because we will not need our guys to be also soft sprites (though we have some cpu/cycles lost on the colours DLIs)?

Things solved seeing better a longplay video of the C64 version:
There's always a maximum of 2guys per line/screen so is simple as 1 is PM0/PM1 while the other is PM2/PM3 in Multicolour mode 3colours using Priority_1 always over all PFs.
Because I already said that I can, maybe sure, to have PF0 and PF1 (red and yellow) common for all in-game screens) then these can be used with no clashes (versus C64 that as you can see has) as soft sprites only 😉 on those other/enemys most of the times bouncing things so will be even better vs them 😁.
Also our guys like are on the CPC version (has 10pixels wide) is 'our friend' 🤩 that'll be exactly P+M that we can even improve adding DLIs to change the colours across the boddy like face, shirt, trousers,...
Also this way (this screen has 40chars) then adding some chars for the soft sprites a possible of 2screens per charset are possible.
P.s.- At the top, I forgot to say that those leftest side objects gfxs will be any colour because they'll be using PMGs (again in Multicolour mode) so all them are possible and even more colour on-screen.

So 'back on business' 😀
here's the definitive 1st screen looking but now with also a definitive solution for the status area and yes, Amstrad CPC 2:1 and using A8 2:1 ratio in Antic4/Gr.12 charmode seems the best and only possible way to go:
All screen have 24colours and about 16colours are on the playing area and is the base for the game all other screens.
Common colours on all screens will be:
-> BAK: black;
-> PF0: red;
-> PF1: yellow;
Then PF2 and PF3 changes their colours across the screen, for each screen and sort of gfxs/objects.
Having those 3 common they can be used on the guys with each one using a Player so 4 per line are possible but also PF2 and PF3 not beeing used on the guys there's not clashes.
This opens many possibilities:
-> If we want to have guys as PMGs only and using Priority_1 then we can have only 2 per line and if other(s) appear then there's a certain flicker;
-> If 4 per line and combined each with 1 PMG but still using Priority_1 is also possible;
-> Have the same 4 per line but using Priority_0 and Orings only 2 can be Ored (PMG_0 and PMG_1 with PF0 and PF1) or the other 2 Oring PF2 and PF3 is difficult because of the PF2/PF3 DLIs and the clashed that'll involve but also something be possible...;
Also the status area in a single charset that is for all in-game screens the same while the playing area can be (this one here has only about 40chars) one per in-game screen leaving lots of free chars if the guys will be soft sprites together with PMGs or 2 or 3screens can share 1charset.

Not wanting to polute this topic but is just a first idea is Antic4 (seems possible each screen a single charset for playing area and 1 for the status area per all screens). I also will hope to 1st go (not really 1st as I've been there on the past but weren't medical/teeth disponible) to the medical treatment for teeth will be on January for a 1st seeing and on other place another place is on March so there's a hope.

I worked for many years in supermakets stuff, started lowe and got up but then started personal life things with wife, family,... and one day maid the wrong decision and got out. teeeth wasn't already good back then and after it started the first without home with just the female dog, teeth went wrong day after day.
If it wasn't Atari and all these stuff I really don't know.
After the problems started it also started here that FMI/Troika situation, houses went hi and hi because suddenly we're invaded by tourists,...
Of course that after I could do some small tasks like helping on doing small arranjments on homes and some public courses payed.
I'm also and have to be signed at here the public employement office or I even didn't receive any goods even if small.
This is also because going out isn't really a solution so the VlarR offer will get me out of the small amount of public givings, no job, courses and what to do with my personal stuff?

I tried and tried and with some tears around, the two hands joined up and asking him some more days, showing him the mail from PayPal I could get at least untill next Thurday so lets wait and hope that it'll ends for good or all your help wasn't for nothing.
Sorry and hope that all, PayPal and my bank do the right job.
Of course that I'm still not ok and trying to not think in this but every minute, hour,... that passes makes me start thinking that at the end nothing. Hope that money comes untill then or it'll be on my account sfter and I'm on the streels leaving all stuff inside the room just because I don't have anyone to put things inside (including tv, computers, clothes,...).
Right after and if I do it giving him the keys nothing more I can do because I cannot more enter on the building, the step and room where I live and even on the next day money would come I would probably have all things out and probably they would call municipality truck to send them to a trash can.
I'll go now to the usual place to take the lunch help and will see at the bank again but because PayPal sent message on Saturday today sin't for sure and I hope those 1 or 2days be tomorrow or the best next day.

Thanks for your offer but perhaps that wouldn't solve things because I would lost the social public help here and when return I will then not have still a home, teeth, job and asking a renew it'll take around 2Months.
I never been out of here (Lisbon yes but not Portugal other than on old times to travel/vacations) so it'll not work beeing out if not to work like many here and all over the world did/do but thanks for your kind words.

Any you have/had these kind of problems.
Money is there and you guys helped me so much. But can you help me in saying if this is normal?
I never had a PayPal account so I just opened it for this...

Hi to you all and there's no thanks to what you did.
I already have almost all to pay for the rent,... though PayPal started to say that the transfer was beeing inspected and then will post me. That's maybe their way to reserve funds for some days.
But is ok as at least one day next week I have money on my account.
I think this should stop now and I never thought I have so much friends.

Found the map just need someone to cut me screen per screen 256x pixels ZX version:
Probably not all exactly but if Memory permits something sure would come in...
So that's it and now I have to agree with Emkay that is GR.8 Bitmap mode hi-res 256pixels/32Bytes wide Narrow screen mode and just get game working in black&white with the most Memory you can get free than give others to put there the best way PMGs for colourings.
