Figured the issue out. The j204 wasn't making good connection to the cpu motherboard. Cleaned the connections with deoxit and it sprung back to life and without any buzzing! Woohoo!

I turned the knob both ways and there is no image on screen at all. Just sound. It was working perfectly until I installed the buzz off. This is a rare vectrex that has the soldered sound ship instead of being socketed so I had to cut a trace and run the 3 wires to the sound chip. Hello guys, I was doing a buzz off install for a customer and after the install, I get sounds, but no image. I checked the voltages from j204 and they look fine, didn't really touch anything on the crt side or power board. So I am kind of perplexed. If i turn the lights off, there is a faint glow of the filament. I do a ton of mods, but this is the first time I have worked on a vectrex. Any ideas would be great!

Just an update, Tim sent me another nesrgb board and that one worked perfect along with another I bought and put in a buddies NESRGB. That board must have been defective to begin with.

Really? I use that on every forum and it's just the same as my in game tag. They are that overly sensitive to that name? Wow.

So, I have been trying to get this nesrgb to work and it's driving me insane! I get no. video. no. sound. I pulled the ppu from my other nes and placed the ppu in the socket with the nes rgb installed and works perfect. unsoldered the ppu from the nesrgb and placed it in the socket without the nesrgb board, it works perfectly as well. Looks like something is wrong with the nesrgb board. I will look the board over again and see if something is unsoldered on the nesrgb somewhere..... If not, I hope I can get a replacement from tim, since I have to order 2 more for my other NES and Famicom. and the master system FM board.

I messaged him and that smd cap isnt necessary for the board to work. I checked continuity and there is continuity with all ppu pins except 2-9 and 14-17. This is normal I read. What was the issue you were having?

Hello Guys, I installed an NESRGB and I am getting no signal at all to the tv. I looked the board over and I saw that SMD cap had fallen off. I need to know what cap this is!
