  1. I was looking at the first issue of Electronic Games, and I came across a piece where they were "comparing" Asteroids and Space Invaders. They tried to claim that Midway developed Galaxian and it was a successor to Space Invaders.

      Back in those days, a screenshot could just as likely be a hand-painted illustration as a photograph! Genre names were not yet established, either.

      I'm assuming Magma has never seen a Galaxian cabinet, since then he'd understand why they thought it was Midway developed. And it did build on the Space Invaders formula and was the next big game in that genre, so it's fair game to call it a successor since even though it's from a different company, that's exactly what it was.

      Information was low back then.   I'm sure it was not clear if Midway was making games or importing them from Japan at that point.
