If you do not see it in PayPal, you have not received payment.  What makes you believe payment was received?

    Thanks

The eBay app showed the sold price on the balance page and I thought that would be trustworthy (I guess not).

Thanks for the quick response though!

  2. Sorry if this a stupid question but I have something sold on eBay and it seems the person has paid (or is paying) for it. Although when I look on at my Pay Pal, I don't have any evidence showing a transaction. (Also if this helps, I accidentally marked the item as paid). Thanks in advance.

Edit: I got the issue solved. Turns out their was a problem with my Email.

No; for now I'm planning on playing with what I have. I may buy more games, but I've got little  time to play them, so I'll probably only buy if it's very cheap.

Exceptions: If I see an Atari Cosmos, Casio PV-1000, or one of Entex's Video-Handheld things at a store near me, I'd probably try to get it. ;)

I think everyone on here would buy a Cosmos if they found one (I know I would). Also that Entex system looks awesome.

it's interesting that Japanese arcades just use plain white cabinets, wonder if they use them because boards get switched out all the time...

It's probably that. In Japan, arcades are still businesses instead of passion jobs. If a game isn't profiting they just take the board out and replace it. Much easier than hauling out a bunch of cabinets.

I also frequent the lost media wiki from time to time (the only article I ever wrote was about the original version of the film Game Of Death). Your article actually got me interested in Heavyweight Champ!

  5. Welcome to Atariage!

I can't tell you I this was shipped outside of Japan, but I can tell you that somebody bought the PCB and control panel for a little over ¥2 million (about 25 grand in USD).

You could try to track down the buyer and see if he would dump the rom, but that might be impossible since it was most likely bought by an arcade operator (in the listing, the seller says he/she was only selling the PCB and control panel even though they had the cabinet. Most arcades in Japan use generic white cabinets, so the original cabinet would most likely get thrown out, unfortunately. ).

Here's a Japanese Wikipedia article with the auction: https://ja.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ドラキュラハンター

Good luck with finding this gem! I'm currently looking for Heavyweight Champ 1976 (also lost) so I can relate in this situation.

  6. I'm typing up a little draft of a YouTube video I have been brewing in my mind for a while (it's about budget gaming), and I was wondering, how much the common compilation game was when it first came out (I was a wee bab when these were being released so I don't know a lot about the marketing for these)?  I'm not talking about collectors editions that had last year's game bundled with it. Think of games like Namco Museum and Sonic Gems Collection.

I can't read Japanese, but I used to do this kind of thing all the time, especially when other territories got stuff way earlier than we did.

Now most things seem to have global launches, or close to it, and I feel like I'm no longer missing out on most things.

What's in the Japanese store that makes it worth the hassle of maintaining the other account?

I honestly don't know. I know there's some games released in the rising sun that hasn't been released yet in North America (don't know what exactly). I only did this so I could have some Famicom games that aren't on the NES app (E.g. Fire Emblem, Disk System versions of Zelda and Metroid, Yie Ar Kung Fu etc etc.).

  8. I made a Japanese account for my Nintendo switch and set up a 7 day free trial. I was wondering, after the trial is over, will I be able to use the Famicom and Super Famicom apps with my US account or will I have to buy another switch online membership (the US account has switch online)?

  9. I think I saw one of these in a YouTube video talking about bootlegs, but I've never seen one on eBay. Still wouldn't buy it. They literally just took a remote controlled car gutted it and put a Famicom in it. Sounds cool, but it would probably overheat and melt the car.

  10. They could of released both SMB2J and SMB2USA in North America, but just called the Japanese version "Super Mario Plus" or something like that and say its for the people who mastered the first game.

I own the disk system version of SMB2J, and its as hard as people say it is. But there are other games that came out during that time which were way harder (Ghost and Goblins, Megaman, Legend of Zelda and Punchout).
