  1. It seems like an even trade My cart's in good condition. Contacts have been cleaned. If you got a Rockman 2 cart up for trade, don't hesitate to message me.
  2. Uh-huh. Apparently, Mario 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy are supposed to be released as a collection for Mario's 35th anniversary.
  3. Do you think it will happen? I mean, surely Nintendo would've mentioned something about it earlier. Supposedly it was supposed to be released around now, but the leakers are now saying it's been delayed. What do you think?
  4. I was looking at the first issue of Electronic Games, and I came across a piece where they were "comparing" Asteroids and Space Invaders. They tried to claim that Midway developed Galaxian and it was a successor to Space Invaders.

    1. masschamber

considering space invaders and galaxian both say by midway on the cabinet, it isn't that far of a stretch to assume it was a sequel.  Like has been said before, this was before you could pop out your phone and find a misleading article on the internet in seconds, then find a more accurate one with a few minutes of searching.

Yeah, at that time the Katz/Kunkel/Worley were some of the only people who even took video games seriously as a wave of the future.

    3. GoldLeader

At the time,  and like others have said, with the word Midway right on the cabinet, Galaxian was considered the spiritual successor to Space Invaders though there was a direct sequel in the  form of the Deluxe machine...

  5. I'd like to nominate Return of the Jedi: Death Star Battle as one of the weirder 2600 games. The game itself isn't that weird, it's your run of the mill 2600 shooter, but the sounds are otherworldly. There's also Atari Video Cube where you play as an elf who's only purpose in life is to change the color on a cube. As you can tell, I don't know of a lot of weird games.
  6. Fun Fact: In the late '80s, for a very short time, Pepsi had the 6th largest navy in the world since the USSR traded them billions of dollars worth of ships for Pepsi.

Look it up if you don't believe me.

    1. GoldLeader

Yep!  17 submarines and 3 warships,  which Pepsico acted as a middleman to scrap them...Rubles were not used as currency since the Russian Govt controlled them, (and a Russian Vodka deal fell apart after the Soviets invaded Afghanistan) so this was a deal for payment...HMMMmmm   Ya know Magmavision,   I don't even know if I would have believed this story without looking it up!

Should've traded New Coke for a bear.

Yeah it's a reminder that corporations are not like a mom and pop business. It's all about assets, cash flow, etc..

  7. I just woke up with a bad stiff neck, what can I do besides scream in agony?

    1. GoldLeader

Take an Ibuprofen, with a bit of food ideally...

    2. BydoEmpire

Alternate hot and cold packs?  At the very least a hot pack might help the area relax.

Oh also, try taking a warm bath.

  8. According to science, Chickens, as well as ostriches, are closely related to the Tyrannosaurus Rex. And since Ostrich eggs are basically just really big Chicken eggs, it's safe to assume that Ostrich meat tastes like Chicken. Therefore, is it safe to say that T-Rex meat also tasted like Chicken?

Well, Mary Schweitzer found soft T.Rex tissue. Perhaps she and her lab.staff enjoyed a good fried and spiced T.Rex in secret...?

  9. I must've eaten something bad, because I contracted the 2600 bug!

    1. joeatari1

I've got the Jaguar bug and man is it expensive to treat!🤮

  10. That sounds like a good deal. PM sent
  11. It seems that most 2600 games don't have music. But a small percentage of them actually do have music, and some of them aren't that bad. The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are: Gyruss Dig Dug Tunnel Runner Mountain King Pitfall 2 And that's all I can think of right now. What are some games that I'm missing? The only rules are 1. It has to have been released 2. It can't be homebrew.
  12. What was the first piece of optical media you ever bought?

  13. Actually, this port's based on an MSX port which was recently ported to the Colecovision.
  14. It's grown on me. It's not as good as the arcade version, but if you think of it as it's own game and not a port, and remember this came out before SMB, it's not terrible.
  15. I think it is. The only way I could think of getting past it is by using exploits.
  16. 174,900 Okay, I think I can't get any better. And I lost at the same place as I did in the cartridge version.
  17. You might want to try replacing the belt. Those things are known to break over the years.
  18. Has anyone here had good luck with Nintendo stock?

    1. joeatari1

I have not tried making Nintendo broth lately.  The last time I did, I mixed it with SEGA noodles and it turned out poorly.

    2. GoldLeader

I have in the past but not currently,  though that rumor of a Switch 2 might have given them a boost..

    3. ZippyRedPlumber

Not in my neck of the woods, which makes me lucky that I got mine back in 2017.

  19. I use punch when I absolutely have no other choice (which is rare). Punching is also great for the bonus rounds (I think it's the only way you can destroy the flying swords).
  20. I think Berzerk and Battlezone are good training programs, it's 2020, the robot overlords could try to enslave us at any time!
