1. Agreed, not surprising. It's the next step since printing "USPS" (or something like that) on the inside of their boxes so people don't turn them inside out. I would be interested in knowing where the line is drawn though considering it used to be called "book rate" right?
2. I'm not real sure where this thread is going (been through a few brandys) but I will try to answer the topic title. I think there comes a point where too much reality is more hinderance than good. Quite truthfully, there are games I'd rather play on an old NES or SNES than a newer system because of the simplicity factor. Too many buttions, etc, etc...
3. I can't vouch for accuracy but: http://allgame.com/cg/x.dll?p=agg&SQL=PIH|||||||45 http://www.emuunlim.com/doteaters/play3sta1.htm I recently acquired a Fairchild for the historic value but I can't imagine a homebrew for it. Good grief, are we going back to machine language?!
4. Kron, My biggest stress with the site is mainly one thing. In my brain, Europe=PAL. I don't have anything PAL that I can use here. I did take a look at it a few weeks ago. You're right though. Folks tend to "go with the flow." But if there's one place people should show their support for, it's the UK. And I'll stop there before my post becomes political in nature.
5. Yeah, they eventually released the crappy US model later in Japan, and it's probably more common there than the original one. This is the one you want, though: http://page13.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r11104945 http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f35137820 Or the friggin' ultimate Saturn stick, depending on your point of view: http://page13.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r15241924 http://page5.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e49182297 Unfortunately, nobody in Japan will ship internationally, even if you speak the language and have a Japanese bank account! I have never found an auction there that said the seller would actually ship internationally. Which is maybe just as well, because I'd have to have a warehouse to house all the stuff I'd buy on Japanese auctions. It's like a whole other world of collecting over there. 893463 Hmmm. I don't recall seeing the arcade stick here and I know I haven't seen that other one. I did pick up a 3 Axis controller though today.
6. I see these all the time here in Japan. I walked by two boxed ones for Y300 each today ($3).
7. Sorry, I ebay'd them. The Saturns go for $50 plus shipping and I started all the 3DO games at $9.99
8. May be the spindle motor itself as well.
9. It was for me, but only after the solid black version came out. I then later would up with an Atari Jr. for som reason aswell...
10. If they're the same as the ones here in Japan, that's about what I could buy it for. They're pretty common here.
11. I like Colecovision as well. When I got back into classic games about a month ago, I checked out colecovision.com. What a sad state of affairs. I remember that site had a small message board and stuff trying to ramp up. Coleco fans sure seems to be in minority compared to Atari fans.
12. I know this is "day late and dollar short" but I just discovered this tool. All this time I've been b**ching about having to load up all my auctions at around noon here in Japan to have them end in the evening back in the states. This is not easy because I'm usually working. Even though there is a charge to start auctions at a later time, I can just load up a bunch and click "upload" on a lunch break (for free). Damn, what a lifesaver... P.S. Have you seen those other new things they have out now? Color TVs!

16. Your description sounds to me like Bionic Commando. But BC is not underrated at all. 886573 That's it! Yeah, I couldn't remember the title. I don't follow NES but that was a great game. I think I'll look it up...
17. Man, that sucks. I'm out a Neo Geo Pocket and $30 cause of some crap like that...
18. What was that game that had some kind of text messages pop up on the screen. There was a helicoptor too. Something tells me you were hunting for someone. The person you find turns out to be bad... Oh boy, memory is failing. You were named "Super Joe" or something?
19. I would like one but I'm worried that the registration thing is going to come up in 30 days. Or, it won't work on my PCs (home built). Sweet deal though...
20. I think he is talking about Nathan's incredible find. http://www.cheeptech.com/kiosk/kiosk.html 885801 Yes! Thanks guys...
21. Can someone direct me to that post the had a big game kiosk setup for 2600 games? This guy had a bunch of pictures of it. It had a timer and everything. Held like 64 games or something. Where was that?

23. Update: Streets of Rage 3 is currently spoken for. I did some testing. The dog bone controller doesn't work (no start). Onslaught does not work. Populus does not work. One of the 3 button controllers may have a problem with the "c" button. One of the A/V switches also does not work. There is one complete genesis system that works and two controllers. The old larger genesis console was not tested, I can't find a simple A/V switch right now and most of my collection is boxed up. It did work last time (2 years?) I had it connected. Right now everything is padded up in a box. I left out the smaller Genesis console that I know doesn't work (doesn't fit). I also put that Sega Game gear lot I have in there too. The weight of the box is 20 pounds. Use 96319 as a zip in usps.com to figure your shipping if you want it. Use parcel post at your own risk, it can take up to 75 days from here. I would like some $$$ for testing and boxing it all up (or some pre NES trade stuff). Make me an offer.
24. I've been digging through my old stuff. I want to trim down on the post-atari stuff. I found two consoles. I believe they both work. One is an older (bigger style) and the other is the smaller one. I have a CD unit but it doesn't work (spindle motor?) and another smaller style genesis that doesn't work either (or at least it's in a box that says "broken consoles"). I have two A/V adapters and two power cords that I know work since the consoles power on. Also, a couple games. I'll try to get some pictures and post them soon. I'll entertain trades for pre NES stuff or paypal cash. I may lump in my Game Gear gear (no pun intended) as well. Pictures... Onslaught does NOT work. I do know that. It is, however, complete with a nice box and instructions and a blue advertisement card. Even the little plastic bag is still on the cart! I will try to test the rest I am uncertain on soon.
