  1. That's a fair point. I couldn't think of anything else to compare it to. Since Arcade 1up did follow it up with an Atari 50 cabinet with similar controls, maybe that's a sign it did okay? There's no way to know I guess. In my opinion it'd be worth more than the paddle bundle, especially if the optional adapter is possible.
  2. Given how much the Couchcade costs, I think you could charge more for it than the paddles bundle. True it does have some other stuff on it, but the trackball on it seemed to get mixed reviews from what I remember anyway. Maybe you could offer an adapter with it for an additional price, that would allow it to work on PC, if latency wouldn't be an issue. It would be great to be able to use it on the trakball arcade games in Atari Vault and Atari 50, which seem to already have mouse support, so maybe it would work. There needs to be a brand new good quality trackball out there in general i think. Since Centipede 7800 has co-op play, I wonder how many people would by two?
  3. that is a nice collection. I wish Star Wars wouldn't be off limits, but know that it would be
  4. I know Atari would likely be limited to the 3 games that they have the rights to: Centipede, Millipede and Missile Command, unless they acquired the others, but even that would be pretty cool in my opinion, and the paddle cart they released only had 4 games, so why not. They could add a 4th if they could redo Crystal Castle. For the existing three, they'd need to come to an agreement with Thomas Jentzsch and Omegamatrix, but Atari is already working with homebrewers to release games on the VCS, so no reason they should be adverse to it here. Maybe they could get Marble Craze by Paul Slocum too. What do you all think? Maybe it wouldn't sell well, but the paddle bundle seems to have, so maybe it would as well. I think it would be great to have some brand new trakball controllers if made with quality.
  5. It's difficult for people to make comparisons I guess when the original example is 40 years old, unless one has some "new" old stock. Even then perhaps materials deteriorate some with age.
  6. I hope they restock the paddles soon, I want some of those as well. Many videos have mentioned the stiffness of the CX40+, but seem to speculate they will loosen a bit once broken in. I wonder if they will. Nice!!
  7. These replies were all helpful thank you. I've watched several video reviews were people say it feels about the same but maybe a bit stiffer than 40 year old hardware is now. I guess my real concern was whether or not they could take abuse. It's easy for me to be a little to over zealous with certain titles. The main one that comes to mind at the moment is the homebrew game Chase It. I like my Hyperkin Trooper joystick but I'd be afraid to play that game with it based on what I've heard. Sounds like I'm going to be picking a couple of these up, which now has me excited to get them.
  8. Do they feel 1-to-1 to the originals if used on the original hardware? Has anyone opened one of them to see if there are any important differences inside, such as weaker materials? Just curious. $25 is pretty good price. Same questions for the paddles.
  9. Would be a nice feature, either way I'll be excited to get one of these. Save states on the original hardware, will be the best of both worlds!
  10. @SainT, will it be possible to enter the save menu if you want to play with a CX40 joystick, perhaps with the Mega Drive controller in the right port and being used only for that purpose? This thing looks awesome.
  11. I suspect you are right. I asked on their contact page anyway but doubt they reply fast
  12. Looking at the cyber week sale on atari.com, the product photo for the Speaker Hat bundle has the lighter colored wood grain version of the VCS in the photo, and not the black walnut variety. I'm wondering if that was just a mistake and it really comes with the black walnut, since I thought only the collector's edition came with the lighter wood grain. Personally I've always thought this was the best looking version. Has anyone gotten this bundle who can confirm? https://atari.com/products/atari-vcs-speakerhat-bundle
  13. Hey, I'm one of those old emails, would still love to get a pair for Inty II. Sending PM.
  14. I need a couple of these. I have the sears super arcade, and two like-new flashback controllers I can't use on it. I'd be happy to purchase them thru kickstarter, or directly.
  15. Something I'd really like to explore more of in the future should time ever allow me to. I feel like I've really missed out on this genre, as the only system I ever had a gun for was the NES. I did get to play some great arcade examples though. I'm glad to see there are options out there for revisiting these beyond what was re-released on the Wii. Great video, I had no idea there were so many cradles and guns released for the Wii; I should have looked harder. I have that Nerf cradle you showed, in addition to the zapper. I like both of them, for different games.
  16. Nice! I don't think I see anything on here that I would care about, except for Skyward Sword, if I ever get around to that. Until then I think these things are off the list for me
  17. Hello everyone. Me and a friend of mine are going to be getting into some co-op lightguns games on his Wii. He has the standard Wiimotes. I'm wondering, Is there really much of a difference in accuracy/response between these and the motion plus wiimotes? Like would you be able to tell instantly if someone swapped it on you?
  18. Hi John, enjoyed your videos. I was wondering though, how close would you say the paddles feel/respond as compared to the original Atari paddles?
  19. In my opinion it doesn't really need to be remade to look more 2600ish. It feels like a natural evolution of Pitfall that a sequel might have been like. I look forward to checking out Akeni
  20. I'm glad you posted about this again, I played this game years ago and was trying to find it again just a couple months ago. Why not keep both versions up? I quite enjoyed the original. I will have to give the new version a try. Glad to see you are still working on it! It is a worthy sequel to Pitfall in my opinion
  21. Pong was the example where I thought latency would be mostly likely to cause problems and you have an exact example of where it's been done before already nicely done
