Yes, I am still happy with mine as well
-
Yes, this was mentioned before. I have River Raid and Chopper Command. Both are doing this too
-
I agree. With the ROM limit removed, the device does everything I want it to do.
-
Probably a typo by someone
-
Yes, if you download the latest update, you are rid of the 18 ROM limit. I know zilch about this kinda stuff, and with several people on this thread answering my specific questions - it went smoothly. Get the new image for your SD card here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xb6Qo1785LWHtRgE9tNF41qqohqxGGoR/view?usp=sharing Then I followed these exact steps last night, and it worked fine (put the new image on top of the old one that comes with the Retron 77): 1. Download an unzip the .img file above. 2. I use etcher from https://etcher.io/ 3. Install etcher, run it, and select the.img file you downloaded for the first option. 4. Connect the Retron 77 SD card to your card reader, and select as the second option 5. Burn the file to your SD card. If all went well, you should get a confirmation notice 6. Copy your desired ROM files over to the 'Games' folder on the SD card 7. Play Atari. Note that there are no page transition animations. It works, but the UI is still basic. This will allow you to play 99% of the games the current Retron 77 cart dumper will not read.

I remember seeing that back in the day, but I don't think I ever tried one....
-
Well, this one is now gone....
-
What if you copied all the ROMs back to the computer in 1 folder - erased them off the card, and then put them all back again at ONE time. Would that solve it? I originally moved them over in different orders
-
Very cool!!!

Last night, I just sucked it up and used the factory card - but, those steps worked 100%. I dumped about 100 roms onto the card last night - now I don't have to worry about switching cartridges anymore. I do hope they change the menu, though. It is strange - it is not in complete alphabetical order. It's like some are, and then it starts back to "A" again. Then again. So, I have like 3 or 4 sets of games in alphabetical order, instead of ALL of them being in that order. I returned that $38 128gb card today. Apparently I never noticed it was MB and not GB
-
Thanks for the information
-
Well, I can take back that unopened 128 GB SD card I bought today - not realizing it was 128MB
-
Thanks a bunch. That did it!!!!
-
Ok. I don't have to erase the original card first, or reformat it?
-
Ok, I don't know where that old 2GB card is. So, I AM going to use the one included with the machine. Others have done it with no issues. So, do I need to format anything at all, or can I just erase all the folders and put the folders back with the new files. Or, do these: 1.

Is that free? Did you basically image the 2gb card as a 128mb card?
-
Care to explain step by step?
-
Well, I will try to image the 2 gb card I have like the other guy did. Otherwise I needa find a 128 mb card someplace
-
OK - looks like I will use the included factory card. So, IF I do that - THEN I reform at it, then do those steps, right?
-
Thanks for the help. I have an extra, old 2 GB card. So, how do I make this work with the 2GB card? Do the steps up above after I format? Or, some other step to make the 2 GB card work in the Retron?
-
Well, I went and exchanged it for a 128GB card. I don't wanna use the existing one for now - so I have a way to go back to at least what I had before, in case I screw something up. All this is new to me. I don't wanna turn my Retcon into a brick if I screw something up on the original card. When I get home, I will try those steps with the new card and see what happens. Thanks

I just bought a 64GB card to use, so I do not mess with the original card. If I do these steps mentioned by someone else, this will not work? It must be a 128GB card? If I format the card and THEN do these steps, will it work? Steps: 1.

Ok, thanks. I didn't know if downloaded a later fix would undo the fix that he released yesterday.

Any chance of fixing the ROM limit?
