Anyone willing to explain to me what the Gridiron Draft is about and how it works ?
Here the Football Transfer Window consists of: Window opens TEAM A wants player. TEAM A agrees price with his current club TEAM B. They sign the contract, player is transferred. Money exchanged. A complete free-for-all.- Show previous comments 6 more

The players are typically rated based on their performance in amateur competition. In general, the best players are picked first, but of course it doesn't always work that way. Many teams will pick based on their most pressing needs in regards to positions, which means that a player who is considered among the best may not get picked early if the drafting teams have more pressing needs at other positions. As to how they come up with the list of picks, it comes down to the college players meeting requirements and submitting themselves as available for the draft. Regarding money, most drafted players are given a base starting salary. After 4 seasons of professional play, they can declare themselves free agents unless they signed a contract with the team that drafted them. Players who haven't reached 4 years of experience and who are cut from a team are put on the "waiver wire", allows other teams to claim them, again with priority given to the teams with the worst records.

That is very interesting. Thanks for the clarification. I like how it tries to shuffle the pack to give the lesser teams a chance.
So in season 2 or 3 If the player has done well, the team can up his salary to get him to stay or in year 4 he is what we would call a free agent, meaning he can go where he wants?
The thing about this is, like in English Football, you could find a player who hasn't been regarded very highly suddenly starts to break ground and become a great player.
I suppose in this case that would only benefit the bigger teams ironically.
Here in our Football, a team of plucky hard working team built of less regarded players, Leicester City, won the top (Premier) League in 2015-16, and they did it convincingly. No-one, absolutely no-one in the world gave them any hope of doing it and they did.
So the Super Bowl is your cup competition. How do they decide who plays in the final ? Does everyone enter or just the top teams in the league?

Yes, teams can sign players to a longer contract within the first 4 years if they want to secure their rights to the player. And yes, being a free agent means the player can sign with whatever team offers him the best contract.
That happens in the NFL too. Just look at Tom Brady, a Quarterback who was selected in the 6th round of the draft, yet went on to become what many consider to be the best QB in NFL history. Of course, the opposite happens too, where a player drafted early who is expected to be good ends up being a bust.
Regarding the Super Bowl, at the end of the regular season, the teams go through a tournament called the playoffs, which ends up deciding which two teams will play in the Super Bowl.
