Anyone willing to explain to me what the Gridiron Draft is about and how it works ?

Here the Football Transfer Window consists of: Window opens TEAM A wants player. TEAM A agrees price with his current club TEAM B. They sign the contract, player is transferred. Money exchanged. A complete free-for-all.

  The NFL draft is meant to give all teams a chance to acquire good players from the amateur (ie. university) ranks, with the picking order decided by the teams' standings from the previous season (the worst teams pick first). That way the richer clubs don't have an advantage in acquiring all of the best young talent. It's a way of trying to equal the playing field for all times.
