We all have the capacity to fall so far and yet retain much of who we are. 

I thought the two Alan Bennets would annoy me, but it actually felt like it gave it more veracity  

I'll keep it in mind.

Well worth your time. It plays out a bit like a murder mystery in that more and more is revealed, and, by the end you feel a great sympathy for her. I won't spoil it by saying anymore, but what looks to be a very simple story is far from it!
