Dave Prowse dead.
I suppose a West Country accent just wouldn't cut it for the menace they were looking for.
People from 'The West tend to sound more like Pirates than they do marauding space nazis.
I think it was from William Goodman's The Princess Bride, the bit about 'we don't last too long, the big and the small', but he doesn't seem to have done too bad at 85.

Goes without needing to say, but just had to :
Stevie Wonder is a songwriting genius. -
The ' Clown Prince of Cut and Paste ' has to be one of my favourite lines ever. @Landstalker. & Bub and Bob are 100% Dragons. Dinosaurs. Extra.
He's not the first to have said that, of course, because that was lifted from someone else who was wrong.

I really do hope that De La Soul were right ! ! !

Yeah! A classic. The laid back style very much in contrast to a lot of rap of the time. NWA's "Straight Outta Compton" had hit the year before. Public Enemy's "Nation" too- not that that was anywhere near has heavy but it was political and charged all the same.
I like the uplift Rap of the Golden Age and Slick Rick Jazzy Jeff and others as much as some of the more powerful and hardcore stuff.

is aware that in life there are 'things you know', 'things you thought you knew' and 'things you most certainly don't know'.
After many years I still don't know the difference between an Aardvark and an Ant Eater. Anyone care to enlighten me once and for all ?I used to do this joke:
Ant Eater bottled it in a pub fight. No so Aardvark. But it doesn't work if they are significantly different animals. -

Today, this afternoon, we had the most magnificent blue gradient sky. It reminded me of the 'copper' backgrounds you got on the Amiga. 🦊
Lotus II maybe but with a more forgiving time limit.
The other month it was red and purple.
One day I will have to go to the bother of finding out how all of it works, comes about, but perhaps that will destroy the magic of it all.

My Status Updates
Yes, hello. So. I had no idea that status posts I made went to the front of the site.
I will be the first to admit that I have struggled to get my head around the nuances of Atari Age and I sometimes get 'information overload'.
I couldn't find any kind of guide so just bumbled along.
I assumed that I had a wall like with Facebook, not that we had a sort of giant message board of Twatter style tweets. So apologies to those annoyed by what you might assume to be 'Spamming'.
I just thought I was posting my own little comments , jokes and opinions to my own wall and those who commented had come because they were curious.
I will endeavour to post less frequently in future.

I'm not "important" enough to warrant an opinion, but it doesn't bother me at all-there is plenty of game-specific stuff to find here, I don't mind someone..."babbling" about whatever is on their mind.
Something you might consider, if you are capable of being a little more wordy even, is starting a blog here, some of them are pretty good, and seem to have a pretty good following, that would give users the opportunity to tune in, or not, and would mebbe make you more comfortable just "letting it all hang out"(which, again, if it's entertaining, is fine by nobody me...).
-
@Rogerpoco who says ? Your opinion like any other opinion is as valid as the next.
Yeah, it is a good idea. A couple of people have suggested it and I was thinking maybe a diary of my battle with Coin-Op Bubble Bobble and people can take it or leave it.
Cool! Don't discount yourself, Rogerpoco, it was a good suggestion and I might well start a blog, if I can figure out which of the 40,000 menu selections it is! 😏 - Show next comments 6 more

Bubble Bobble again.
Does anyone know if the Original has any good conversions outside of The C64, Amiga and PC and Nes ?
I'm not really into any that go away from the Coin Op too much. I want the one screen all action.Cheers!

PEOPLE
Some people unintentionally meddle because they care for you and can be forgiven for their behaviour as they have your best interests at heart;
Other people stir the pot because they like to cause a ruckus and try to make themselves look better to other people.
One's a friend and one's a snake. One's got their eyes on your smile, the other's got their eyes on your cake.-
-
Nope. You are not, and good to talk about it. Another funny moment was when they said "I said that someone, totally not you but with a name that sounds like you, will be doing it. But hey we must know like five people with a name like yours right?"
Person is frantically trying to work out that "we are good" while saying "Yes I told this person this stuff". And I basically said "Well, you made a choice. Next time you want to keep friends, try not to meddle, and just be trustworthy. That is all I want in a friend."

LOCKDOWN 2. NOV 5 - DECEMBER 2nd. I DON'T WANT TO GO THROUGH IT, BUT I WANT THE COUNTRY TO BE SAFE.
LIKE SOMETHING THAT IS PAINFUL, BUT ESSENTIAL.
-

-
Yeah, there is truth is what some of you have put, though I would just point out that there are some very vulnerable people in all of this (for I am one) and that their chances are much slimmer than everyone else's.
They should have kept the pubs closed! If you think about all those knobheads that you know from the pub or see hugging people or the disgusting vermin that go to the toilet for a bowel movement, come out of the stall when you are washing your hands after a week, and just go back into the bar. THOSE PEOPLE those people are the super spreaders of all disease and Covid is having a field day with those arseholes! My hope is, we come out of this lockdown, and the Vaccine is ready. Or during this it becomes ready and they send people out to vaccinate the most vulnerable. Then we would be in a good place for a nice Christmas, and then a good new year.
I think this year, 2020, will in future be referred to as 'The Lost Year'.Of course you have to keep your chin up, the numbers as bad as they are are not as bad as they could be and we have to 'keep on keeping on'. We need to all come together to stay safe.
Stay positive but not for covid. That's my second time round this particular roundabout and although it was not as bad as the first time, I assure you, with 100% confidence that it is nothing like flu for some of us !

5 Competitive Football games in 13 days is too much.
-
Yes, that is too much. A league game, then a UCL or Europa league game, back to a league game, some random cup game no one cares about anymore, etc etc. There are going to be a lot more injuries this season. Don't know what the SPL did for subs, but EPL really shot itself in the foot by going back to three.
-
Yeah! SPL It's 5 players, 3 stops. So you have to do multiple swaps to take full advantage. Also prevents running the clock down just subbing people at the end.
My comment was about Reading. One draw 7 wins before tonight. Two away games in a row.
Sat, Tues, Sat, Tues, Fri. All in 13 days. Bound to lose today, though they played well. 3-2. The players were shattered.
And in the leagues below the Prem, they just don't have the size of squad either so it's playing the same players over and over, bound to result in injuries. All got messed up because of finishing the last season late due to 'This thing that is happening in the world that I am sick of talking about' happening.

|GoBaddie
What a joke.Go there, find a domain, ooh Buy Now no hassle from the Auction process.
|Pay.A week goes by|
Contact owner (as had previous dealings with him) and ask him why he's taking so long *previous to this domain transfers between us in 24-48 hrs.
| Never auctioned domain at GoBaddie. Has no relationship with them.
Trying to get a refund and they talk to me as if it was my huge mistake. Now I have to pay over the top for the domain because he knows how much I want it.
Needless to say I have made an official complaint to ICANN. That could be *any domain owned by anyone.
Shocking behaviour by the biggest *name.___________
* just because they are big does not mean to say I am saying they are good. In the 20 + years I have been buying domains I have only used them this one time because of the negative feedback I have had from others. I've transferred a few out from GoBaddie but that's it.

Why is it, the book I want, is the one I can't find.

Life is Shit Sometimes
Woman has fat children. She gets abused in the street because they are fat.
She is fat. She clearly doesn't give a fuck about her kids and is a bad mother.
Reality: Junk food, like big 24 multipacks of Crisps (£) / Chips ($) say cost £3/$4.
(probably cheaper in The States)
She feeds them junk because healthy food is expensive. Junk is all she can afford.
Takeaway: She got abused for not wanting her kids (or her) to starve.-
-
Ok so a lot of you made some good points but Chicken isn't cheap, Beef isn't cheap. Salmon isn't cheap.
Vegetables are cheap, it is true and soups and things. But here offers in the Supermarket seem only to ever be Chocolate Bars, Crisps and Junk foods.
Plus a busy single parent doesn't have much time either, and let's face it, time is also money.
My point was it is easy to judge people without having the full facts and people just trying to keep their head above water sometimes get the shitty end of the stick.
If a man gains 40 stone because he has an extreme eating disorder, a mental illness, when he dies people say 'Good Riddance - you gluttonous fuck!' but if someone dies of anorexia people are nothing but sympathetic and talk about 'the tragedy' of it all.
-
If I eat more than one banana in a week, I usually get headaches. I must be allergic to oatmeal because it gives me mental problems (depression-like symptoms and irritability). Granola is one of my favorite things in the world, but I have to avoid it. I eventually discovered that unfermented soy is really hard on my brain, so I have to check the ingredients religiously. Companies love shoving soy in everything.

I was a singer songwriter (Once)
-
No, no. I can barely play after 25 years of trying. I can string lyrics together and bang a few chords / basic melodies together.
I never said I was a pro mate, just a guy who wrote a few simple songs.
Just thinking of putting some more together.
I can sing a little. I think it is more about passion honesty and 'meaning it' than anything.
You sound like a good musician. I would be in awe of you.
What styles do you play ? What types of music are you into ? Outside of Jazz I like pretty much most styles of music even obscure and niche ones. With the 'fine' were they Americans or Brits ? If Americans likely they mean 'very good', like you might call a fine wine. If it was Brits, then you're not far off, they mean middling or lukewarm probably.
Meaning you can hold a tune but only just. Which isn't too bad, and you can always improve my training your ear.
If a Brit tells you your not bad or that's not bad, they mean really really good.
-
Haha-Well, I was a "metalhead" teen, Maiden, Metallica, etc, then started doing "wussy music", Matchbox 20, etc, and then I started playing Vince Guaraldi on the keyboards(Charlie Brown Jazz, haha!!!).
The keyboards accidentally led to Eddie Van Halen, so I got into his guitar playing then.
I'm actually left-handed, but have just always played(self taught)right handed.
Thanks very much BTW-and Americans, yes, lol, cynical barstids!
Actually, the song that "popped up" when you wondered that difference(USA/British)was what made me decide to throw a "full answer" out there, lol(I am kinda full of myself, but in an honestly Friendly way), hope you enjoy!!!
(There's other "crap" all over the page, but it's on you to dig for it, if interested!!!)
Thanks, made me feel good, Man, Cheers!!!
-
Full of yourself? You're a virtuoso and claimed you could play a bit. Van Halen that's top of the league mate!
Always loved metal. Brits really took it to a new level which gives me a lot of pride and EVH Rip was Dutch, but Metallica are great too!I am not into the Korn and Death/Grind Metal type stuff. Amazing musicians but I am old fashioned I still want to be able to hear what the words are !
Cool I'll check this out later.

SCRABBLE
Any love for Scrabble / Words with Friends here ?
If so give this a like or thanks. I'm looking to chat to people who love
word games with a vie to developing my own.

An incredible game for Axel Tuanzebe.
I rated him before but that was stellar. True PSG were well off their best, but in their own back garden, a fine fine performance and considering our injury list, I am a very happy fan!
-
I know that drops from Belladonna is used to dilate pupils and at least in ancient times was sometimes used by young women to enhance their appearance (but possibly damaging in continuous use). Whether it prevents the eyelids from dropping, I'm not sure. I believe more in cognitive behavioral therapy here.
-
Victor Lindelof. Yeah I agree 100|% with you Anders. He had a brilliant game, but can 'go missing' during games. If he were the player he sometimes is more often he would be a first choice selection. Saying that, he is not the only one. United has a problem with consistence. De Gae had his best game for 18 months or more.
-
On the eye front. Scott McTominay lost his contact lens early on in the first half so he couldn't see very well at all for half the game. Another of the occasionally brilliant players.
I can't help feeling that Pogba's laziness is infiltrating the whole group. His slack I don't care Laissez-faire approach is no good. He should be out the door. - Show next comments 6 more

Question Everything
You should question your ideas, your thoughts, your beliefs, and those of others and the things people say and tell you. What the news and media tell you, the mental stimuli your senses tell you. Ask yourself what you hate, what you love, what you are passionate about what is important and what doesn't matter. You can only know who you are when you figure out who you aren't.

Golden Axed.

Hmmm. Coder claims they did it in 2 weeks.
Even at 14 hour days it looks too 'polished'* for 196 hours of work.___________________
When will these publishers realise? There is absolutely nothing of 'Golden Axe' in it, It could be any old generic game. Reminds me of a 2D version of Lord of the Rings from 2002?
*I didn't say it looks good, I think it looks pretty rough, I just think some of the background stuff has had time for tinkering.
-
-
-
In my 100% unvarnished opinion - it looks like a very generic load of old bollocks.
^ This was unfair. I don't know the conditions the team were working under.
I won't remove my comment but acknowledge that it was unfair.
The Engine might have been good, and with better graphics that actually look like GA's and appropriate sounds it might have been half decent. Given time.
__________
Ps Sega have apologised to Tim Dawson who put it together (with others) and I think that is right as the original strap on the Steam demo seemed to be having a pop at the team behind it.
