What kind of online games do you play?
missioncontrol replied to Rhindle The Red's topic in Poll Forum
We got a small group that plays UT 2004 or FlatOut2 about every Friday night... We all use teamspeak so we can bs with each other as we play. -
keep us updated on your results Allen. The card stock I used was the standard you pick up at wall-mart. Since mine are for display purposes they don't need to be perfect. I may play around with Photoshop and may even try to learn a little with Illustrator to make some more. I'm going for mostly common cart boxes first since they are the most recognizable. I am going to have to rummage through the box scans here and see what I should start out with.

So I made a Frogger box yesterday using the templates, I used standard card stock since I was just testing the waters with it. But overall I think it came out nicely. I hope the original poster hasn't lost interest and plans on upping more designs since my photoshop/gimp skills are lacking. Next I will make a combat box. These are going to be displayed nicely in my cubicle at work. I will make some nicer ones with proper materials to display in my gameroom.

Those pencils are really cool! Do you remember where you bought them? While Tempest was being developed for the Atari 2600, what I noticed is that each of your pencils corresponds exactly to the series of 10 double-sided cardboard flats/posters released by Atari (marketed by ArtFaire and sold for 79 cents each). Asteroids Battlezone Centipede Haunted House Missile Command Star Raiders Super Breakout Tempest Warlords Yars' Revenge Thanks for the list and pics. I did not know how many of these there are. I am missing Super Breakout, Asteroids and Centipede. I have seen Breakout and Asteroids on e-bay once, but was outbid on them. I have never seen an Centipede one either.... I have the rest of them

maybe, but SlikStik started taking orders and money from customers and failing to produce a product.

Since he requires arcade style controls have you considered building an arcade control panel and then hacking a joystick to get the functionality you need? The guys at arcadecontrols.com might be able to give you some pointers http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/

I hope you continue to do video reviews. You have inspired me to work on some video reviews. I currently am working on a Vanguard review. I have some footage already but need to decide what to say and figure out how to edit my footage together. I may be trying to hard, but just want it done right. anyways, I'm not sure the history behind this post and why you are seeking forgiveness. That's between you and whoever else is involved. I haven't been to active on this forum, but have noticed you are one of the guys who sticks out for keeping the memories of Atari alive. so yes, continue with the reviews.

The first game that allowed continues
missioncontrol replied to missioncontrol's topic in Atari 2600
Oh yeah: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?act=boardrules opps.. sorry I'm going to remove the small signature image. Didn't realize it wasn't allowed.... Thanks for pointing this out. -
I don't have any next gen consoles, but out of what I do have, my 2600 gets the most play

lmao, that's my friends biggest complaint too.....

I gave a friend a starter set last year for Christmas. I think I was just as excited about giving it to him as he was about getting it. I basically gave him a spare vader, some dupe games I had and a set of joysticks. It's awesome to spread the joy of Atari....
-
While testing and boxing a few dupes that I was selling, I found myself playing Vanguard quite a bit over the weekend. I must say it is an awesome game and loads of fun. What was really cool is after my game was over it allowed me to continue. My question is, what was the first 2600 that allowed continuing after the game was over?

lmao went from "going to sell it all" to "can't fight the addiction" can't wait for the reviews. Good luck dude

Received the video. Thanks man. This guy is an awesome person to deal with. Great communication and ships fast. I highly recommend him.

arcade goodness at Big Lots
missioncontrol replied to Atari5200's topic in Classic Console Discussion
The Retroblast link is fixed now. It's viewable with Firefox. I remember when they were out at Target. The controls really didn't feel all that sturdy. They also had the demo displayed on the botton shelf to raise it up to normal height. When I went back a month latter. It was pretty worn out and looked like it was ready to fall apart. -

The "Scathing" review link just produces a blank area where the text should be. I could not find it elsewhere on their site. I've heard that these units are quite cheaply constructed. Yeah, I got the same thing. I was looking forward to reading the review, as I've never seen one of these machines.. ..Al I got the same thing, because I was using Firefox. I then opened it using IE and was able to read it. Their loss if they want to alienate a good chunk of visitors. IE is not an option for me unless I want to fire up Windows in Fusion and browse the site that way. ..Al Sorry guys... I am one of the new contributers of the new Retroblast. We pretty much were given the site from Kev Steele. He gave it up to pursue a better Gameroom magazine. He also gave us all his old content so that the reviews wouldn't be lost. When we did the site make over, a few pages didn't transition well. We are still working out the bugs. If you do find other errors at Retroblast, please feel free to let me know or post them in the RB forums so that we can correct them. It isn't our intention to alienate anyone from reading the site. Unfortunately with the new format changes a few pages were overlooked. -
