  1. Greetings Professor Falken... Recently, I have been enjoying my quest for the best ANSI terminal configuration. I would like to see an updated terminal emulator cartridge that includes an updated terminal emulator program that supports 40,80 column (native & F18A), ASCII & ANSI terminal emulation, Baud rates from 300 to 256000 bits per second, the TEII Speech GROM capability, and finally the ability to tap into the speech from the terminal program. I would like to see TI BBS's that are speech capable (like in the movie "War Games"). Not just reading text copied to a clipboard but an actual speech command that could be sent from the BBS which would contain the phonetic spelling of what is being displayed on the screen. I think this would set apart the TI from all other vintage computers giving another reason to continue to enjoy this hobby and community. Hopefully it would support configurations of just a sole stock console, to a TIPI configuration and other popular configurations in between.
  2. One thing I noticed after posting this and setting back down to troubleshoot some more is something that should have been obvious to me. If you look at my breakout box configuration settings from the picture, after trying a straight-thru 2-2,3-3 configuration that did not work, I tested 2-3, 3-2 by adding jumpers... BUT I forgot to turn off the bank switches!!! So it makes total sense now why I was getting the loop. I had configured 2-2&3, and 3-3&2. DOH!
  3. I am sorry if I was not clear, I am using a stock TI Peripheral Expansion Box not a Nano-PEB. Thank you and I am having so much fun playing around with and troubleshooting RS-232 terminal communications again. It has been a while!
  4. In reading through that topic, post #13 from InsaneMultitasker found the solution for me to get up and running once I receive my Telco disk via snail mail. Once received I will confirm his solution. His post is located here http://atariage.com/forums/topic/273732-telco-term80-and-modem-cable/?p=3934884 Thank you everyone for your input and willingness to help, what a great community!
  5. While I am waiting on the terminal disk to arrive, I wanted to confirm the communications cable configuration that I should be using. I am using a PEB with a TI RS232 Card (DB25F) to WiModem 232 oled (DB25F). I will be using the TELCO terminal emulator software. Is the proper configuration, a TI Modem Cable with a DB25M on both ends?
  6. I am eagerly awaiting the TIPI to be back in stock so that I can jump on the bandwagon! Until then, I am enjoying playing with and learning about the PEB which I have recently acquired. Quick question: When I turn off the PEB, the PHP 1250 SS/SD Floppy Drive makes a clunk sound like the head is parking. Is this normal?
  7. Thank you for posting this! It was fun watching the walkabout looking at all of the displays. I like watching the demos and hearing the conversations about the TI-99/4A! I appreciate it! TWoodland
  8. Although I am still drinking from the firehose concerning the incredible treasure of information and resources provided here, my current favorite is: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/243766-bin-repository-images-for-burning-cartridges/ But I have recently aquired a FGROM99 cart and having a blast!!!!! Thank you Omega! Keep truckin!
  9. Cool, I will locate and check out fastterm. Thank you!
  10. The floppy price is $2 w/$8 shipping. Even though it totals $10, it is telling me that there is a $10 min order, so I will wait until you get a TIPI and/or F18A in stock before placing the order. Thank you for having it available to order though! Nevermind, I saw that you had blank DS DD 5.25" disks for sale. I added 10 to the cart to be able to checkout! Thanks again, TWoodland (Tim Woodland)
  11. Thank you arcadeshopper! I am planning on getting a TIPI and F18A whenever they become available. Until then, unfortunately, I do not have a PC with a 5.25" floppy, I do have the XB27 cart, 32k RAM expansion, and the Telco.DSK file. I now need to figure out how to get it over to my TI or locate a BIN version that I can copy to the FGROM99. Thanks again! TWoodland
  12. Good afternoon everyone! I am requesting your input once again as I need to tap into your wisdom and experience of all things TI-99 related. Goal: I would like to utilize my PEB’s TI RS-232 board and WiModem 232 OLED to connect to Heatwave, FuSiON, 9640news, and other TI-99 BBS’s (Preferably with ANSI graphics). I would also like to have 80 column mode but do not have an F18A yet (Looking for one to become available). I have: PEB w/Flexcable Interface, TI Disk Controller, TI RS-232 Interface (DB25F), TI 32Kx8 Memory Expansion Board and PHP 1250 5.25” Full Height SS/DD Floppy Drive. WiModem 232 OLED (DB25F) Gender Changer Adapter (DB25M to DB25M) Break Out Box (DB25F to DB25M) FinalGROM 99 Cartridge Terminal Emulator II Cartridge Current Connection: TI RS-232 (DB25F) – (DB25M to DB25M) Gender Changer – (DB25F to DB25M) Break Out Box (Wired – 1-1, 2-3, 3-2,7-7,6-20,20-6) – (DB25F) WiModem 232 OLED (Connected to WoodlandNET Home WiFi). Using TEII Cartridge – Selecting 300 baud, Even Parity, Full Duplex, Port #1, 40 Columns Current Issue: Screen displays: Looking for router…, Connected to WoodlandNET, Filesystem Ready! (Looping). It will not accept any AT commands (+++, ATH etc.) What am I doing wrong? What is the best setup for what I want to accomplish? Thank you in advance for your time and input. TWoodland
  13. sparkdrummer, Yesterday's News is KILLER! It is VERY well done! Thank you so much for doing these. The retro look is so hip! Now that I have discovered this, I have a TON of reading to do! AWESOME!!! TWoodland
  14. Here is an updated photo since getting my first PEB!
  15. Thank you peterfleeman for the manual! Interestingly, as he was messaging me, I was browsing Ebay for TI-99 stuff and had found a PEB listed. I had always wanted one, they looked so cool and offered so much capability. I was looking over the listing when my computer notified me about peterfleeman's message. I read the message, replied, then switched back to the listing and was surprised to find that it was listed by pfleeman! How incredible was that! I promptly purchased the PEB! I received it last evening and it is awesome and incredible! Thank you again Peter, for everything!
  16. Schmitzi, Sorry for the confusion. I was looking for any copy (electronic or photocopied), then I was intending to say that if anyone had an original cassette version of the software, including manual and tapes, that I would be interested in purchasing it. I appreciate you reaching out and asking for clarification. Shortly after posting, I received a message from peterfleeman indicating that he had an extra copy of the manual and that he would send it to me, which he has graciously done. Again, I am sorry for the confusion, but really appreciate you reaching out to me about it. Thank you, Tim
  17. Here is a label for the FG99 that I modified from the one included. I added text for the reset buttons and SD card slot. Here is a pic of it on the 3D printed cart ( I need to get a smaller hole punch for the LED).
  18. Thank you so much for the update and good luck with your new role at work! I appreciate that you are supporting your users! I hope you get the issue resolved soon so you can take a break and relax. As for me, I really want one from you if at all possible, so I will be patient. Thank you so much for all of your talent, hard work and time spent!
  19. It looks like there are some options to print circuits using an inkjet printer: https://www.botfactory.co/page/print https://www.instructables.com/id/Print-Conductive-Circuits-With-An-Inkjet-Printer/ https://nirzaree.wordpress.com/2016/12/07/setting-up-conductive-inkjet-printing/
  20. That would be great if you can find replacement circuit strips! The conductive paint would be great for repainting the button contacts, but using a conductive pen would be difficult to retrace the circuit lines. There is just something about having the original joysticks that I used a lot when I was younger, functional again!
  21. I was just thinking about this. I wonder if you could refill an ink jet cartridge with conductive ink and print replacements on transparency film sheets or glossy photo paper.
  22. I am looking for a copy of the manual for "Music Skills Trainer" cassette tape version PHT-6009. Would anyone know where I can get it? I have made the cassettes from WAV files. If someone has an original copy that they are willing to part with, I would like to purchase one. Thank you, TWoodland
  23. While I wait for the TIPI interface board to be back in stock on ArcadeShopper, I thought I would go ahead, get the Raspberry Pi and prepare it. In looking at the various options that are compatible, I am leaning towards buying the Raspberry Pi Zero WH (wireless w/header). For those of you who have experience with running a TIPI, I have a some questions that I know will help me and maybe other future TIPI users: If I buy the Raspberry Pi Zero WH (I am guessing that having the header already soldered onto the board is a bonus) instead of the Pi Zero W, do you know if it would plug directly onto the TIPI interface board without interference or would I need to have a cable jumper? In looking at the Raspberry Pi comparison chart (http://socialcompare.com/en/comparison/raspberrypi-models-comparison) other than cost, size and the time it takes to update the TIPI software, is there a drawback to buying a Pi Zero with respect to using TIPI and it's features? Would I be limiting any foreseeable future expansion of features? I am asking because I would much rather spend more for a Pi 3 B+ if it would provide a better TIPI experience (speed, performance, expansion capability). It may be that the Pi Zero W or WH is suitable for current and near future TIPI requirements and that the Pi 3 B+ is overkill. Thank you in advance for your time and input.
  24. Sounds fun! Count me in! Hopefully I can get a TIPI before Field Day!
