  1. Zaku or Toki. (Although I'm a bit biased toward one of those.) If you're a masochist, I'd say Ninja Gaiden III.
  2. Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I'll make a separate announcement here once those two games start shipping.
  3. Yo, Atarians! How's tricks? So we have this new website up over @ www.superfighter.com for you to take a gander at. Yeah, it was a long time coming. Sorry about that. Life tends to get in the way of these things, y'know? But anyway, there it is. In reflection, I actually couldn't remember how many different revisions of the website there have been, over the years. I did remember working up the second revision during an exhibition at the Classic Geek Expo (err, Classic GAMING Expo) back in '05 -- from the relative comfort of my hotel room -- using an HP Omnibook 900 (Ad Lib compatible!). But anyway, I looked into it and the answer was 4. 4 revisions, ah ah ah. So this would technically be version 5.0 of the whole Super Fighter Team online experience. And as usual it's been beautifully hand-coded by yours truly using the "MS-DOS Editor" ... because that's how I roll. Aaaaaaand, you'll either like it or you won't. Either way if you've got a couple seconds you can shoot me an e-mail with your comments. I'll appreciate that. Note however I don't make it by these forums much any more (or most any other forums for that matter), so if you PM me I may not get it for, like, eons. ENJOY!!
  4. Hey! We @ Super Fighter Team have begun shipping our latest game: BEGGAR PRINCE. This RPG was our first commercial product back in 2006. Based on popular demand it has returned, this time as a Special 20th Anniversary Edition, to commemorate the game's initial release in Taiwan in 1996. Full details and ordering options can be found on our website... www.beggarprince.com Thanks for your interest!
  5. That's caused by the game's copy protection. You need to find a game binary that's had the copy protection disabled.
  6. Please don't discuss piracy of our games. We place no limits on per-person orders. We want as many people to enjoy the game as possible. Zaku sold 600 units in total already, and I'm confident there's still ample demand. The only question is: how ample?
  7. Oh, hello. We've been getting a lot of e-mails about Zaku lately. We were getting quite a few before the recent mailing list updates, but lately they've been coming in left and right. It's really cool! Zaku is one of my favorite games that we've published here at Super Fighter Team, and I'd really like to put it back into production. Buuuuut... if we did that, it would be on two conditions: 1). We would need to receive at least 400 pre-orders to justify the basic production amount, and cover expenses 2). Due to our high production backlog, the game wouldn't ship until 2018 If either or both of these conditions are major dealbreakers for the majority of people interested in the game, then we just won't be able to do it. Sorry. If not, then we'll strongly consider opening up a pre-order option in the near future. Please weigh in on the subject at your earliest convenience -- here in the forums or directly by e-mail -- so I can get a general feel of the situation. Thanks!
  8. Hello, all. I've purchased a Diamond Trackstar 128 but the utility disk wasn't included. Sadly this disk is needed in order to actually use the hardware. A Teledisk disk image is available from the asimov FTP, but it doesn't work... because the original disk is copy-protected. Software for the later Trackstar models is also available for download -- and by this time the company learned that copy-protecting the disks made no sense -- but these don't work with the 128. If someone has an extra working utility disk available for the Trackstar 128 I'd like to arrange to either buy it, or borrow it for proper disk imaging using special hardware. Thanks. Please contact me here or by e-mail (e-mail preferred) if you can help... [email protected]
  9. Well hello...! So we @ Super Fighter Team did the whole launch announcement for Cascade and Magic Girl some time ago, but haven't really been by the forums since. Time flies, schedules bloat up, yadda yadda yadda. Well the games are still in stock -- albeit in low numbers -- so if you haven't snagged 'em yet, come by our website & have a look. In the mean time, scope out these screenshots... CASCADE for Sega Genesis & Mega Drive MAGIC GIRL for Sega Genesis & Mega Drive Also we've got our Genesis / Mega Drive three RPGs back on pre-order: Beggar Prince, Legend of Wukong and Star Odyssey <-- in case you missed out on any of them the first time. If you have any questions about anything, please contact me by e-mail for the quickest response time... [email protected] I'll get back to you lickety-split. And that's about it. Thanks for reading, folks.
  10. Hello! Here is the latest news from Super Fighter Team: CASCADE and MAGIC GIRL are coming to the Genesis / Mega Drive! Is your favorite 16-bit game system shaking in nervous anticipation? Ah, well that must be because we've got two great new games waiting to fill its slot! CASCADE is a dice-based puzzler set in space, where your skill will be judged by wacky aliens. MAGIC GIRL is a vertical shooter that puts you in the role of a young girl fighting to save her entire planet from certain doom. Both games are now available for pre-order for only $40 each, from their respective websites... www.playcascade.com www.magicgirlgame.com CASCADE was originally developed by Epyx, and initially slated for release only in Japan. This never before seen game will amuse you with its quirky aliens that welcome you with silly spoken lines such as, "Oh no, a human!" and "May the dice be with you." It also features a two player mode. MAGIC GIRL was developed by Gamtec in Taiwan. In addition to translating the game into English, we at Super Fighter Team have also fixed a few bugs that plagued the Chinese original.
  11. Hello, all. Long time, no post. I'm Brandon Cobb of Super Fighter Team, whom you may remember from Beggar Prince / Legend of Wukong / Star Odyssey for the Genesis / Mega Drive, and Zaku for the Lynx. How y'all been? I'm here today with news of our two newest free games [!], for Windows... Sango Fighter 2 lets you choose from 16 different generals in China's Eastern Han Dynasty, fighting it out to see who will control the entire country. Originally developed by Panda Entertainment in Taiwan, it is now available in English for the first time, with new features and enhancements. Try it out @ www.sangofighter2.com Super Fighter Special Edition is a new version of our company's namesake, built from the ground up in honor of the game's 20th anniversary. It features a new soundtrack, new attacks for each character, nearly 100 new frames of character animation, and more. Try it out @ www.superfighter.net Thanks for your interest. Have a nice day.
  12. Hello, all. Just dropping in to let everyone know that Commander Keen in Keen Dreams (classic PC game for MS-DOS) is now available for Android enabled devices, under official license. We adapted the game directly from the original source code, and the sound effects were digitally recorded from the YM3812 chip of the Ad Lib sound card to ensure they were perfectly preserved. The game can be played using the touch screen or a gamepad. Check it out at Google Play... http://play.google.c...=com.keendreams Thanks for your attention. Have a nice day.
  13. That and other questions are answered in this recent interview... http://www.retrovide...php?topic=731.0 Thanks for sharing your feedback about the game, gents. We appreciate it.
  14. Hello, everyone. Pardon, I don't really have the free time to visit forums anymore -- but I wanted to swing by and thank y'all for your patience during the waiting period between production runs of Zaku. We had other professional commitments to fulfill, but now I'm happy to announce that orders started shipping this afternoon. This will continue through next week, until we have shipped all pending orders. Keep an eye on your mailbox for there will soon be a surprise inside! If you haven't ordered yet, and are still on the fence about it, please check out the game's official website (www.zaku-lynx.com) for heaps of information and screenshots, or the recently posted "complete playthrough" video on YouTube (warning: thar be spoilers): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrT-QHM3Ezk We look forward to hearing your first impressions of and feedback about the game, so please, don't be a stranger! Contact us by e-mail ([email protected]) and tell us what you think! Thanks again and have a nice day.
  15. Hello, everyone. Thanks for sharing the news of the release of Star Odyssey. There's nothing to worry about. Shipping of orders has just been slower than expected, due to my unpredictable schedule. Please excuse that inconvenience; I'll be catching up on it quickly. All waiting customers (including yourself) were sent an "order update" e-mail a few days ago; if you did not receive it, perhaps it ended up in your SPAM folder by mistake. Feel free to contact me directly via e-mail if you have any additional questions, for the quickest response time. Have a nice day.
  16. I realize it wasn't the answer you wanted, but I appreciate your patience and continued support. Thanks again.
  17. Please excuse me if I misinterpreted your meaning. Piracy is like a cancer for small companies like ours. For every respectful customer who appreciates the hard work that goes into these types of products (and all the costs associated with them), there's always a group of thieves slavering over the thought of getting something for nothing, without a care in the world to what new software may not appear in the future as a result of their selfish actions. As it's something I don't take lightly, you can understand why I get irritated when it's mentioned in regard to any of our titles. While we at Super Fighter Team are proud to distribute some of our games as free downloads (such as Sango Fighter and Super Fighter Block Battle), our commercial software represents our best effort to produce high-quality, authentic products for classic gaming fans to enjoy. We only ask that our right to do so be respected, so we can continue providing the same kind of software for many years to come. Thank you.
  18. I did respond to your e-mail, John; perhaps it ended up in your spam folder by accident? Please do not discuss the illegal distribution of our game products. Have some respect. Piracy is a sure-fire way to guarantee less new games appearing for everyone's favorite classic systems.
  19. Sorry I didn't get around to the forums quickly enough to answer this question here, but I did receive your e-mail about it and replied to that. Generally, e-mail is the best way to get ahold of me, as I check it every day and can get you a quick response.
  20. Despite its sub-sub-sub-par hardware, it would be possible to produce a decent game for the game.com, given the combination of a good designer and a (very) patient programmer. That's about as positive as I can think, in regard to this machine.
  21. The N-Gage was my first mobile phone. I bought it on the launch date because I was all amped up over the concept of a mobile phone that doubled as a handheld game system. Before getting the N-Gage I'd had ZERO interest in having a mobile phone; since buying it I've gone through a crazy succession of Nokia phones, each more impressive than the last: N-Gage -> 3650 -> 3230 -> N95 -> N8. However through it all, my original N-Gage has held up the best, and the longest. At one point, having sold my N95 to a good friend, I drilled a small hole in the speaker and back casing of the N-Gage, to put it back into active use for a short while. The N-Gage makes a decent phone when properly converted for "back talking." In addition, I also designed a new game for the N-Gage, which Super Fighter Team produced. It's called Super Fighter Block Battle, a fun action-puzzle game which is available as a free download -- so check it out!
  22. I put together a small but interesting website about the game.com which showcases the ending sequences of several games, and features interviews with a couple of developers. Anyone curious about the system is sure to find it interesting... The end of the game.com @ gcom.oldergames.com The game screenshots on the website were taken using the official, software-based emulator / debugger, which is currently for sale along with the hardware portion of the kit.
  23. Hello, everyone. Thank you for your interest in and support of Star Odyssey. We appreciate it. This is true, and there's some fine work there. However unlike each release by Super Fighter Team, none of those projects are officially licensed from nor supported by the games' copyright holders. Star Odyssey was produced and will be released in partnership with Starfish-SD Inc., the company that acquired the assets of Hot-B Co., Ltd. following their closure. This partnership, in fact, is the first one with a company in Japan throughout the history of this niche market of classic gaming. Star Odyssey is indeed bug-free. In fact, we fixed several bugs and programming oversights from the original English prototype, as well as ones present in the original Japanese release version. A full list of programming changes can be found on the Star Odyssey development history page. Beggar Prince was our company's first commercial product, and at the time we simply did not have the budget necessary to get all of the game's bugs fixed up 100%. While this is something we regret, it inspired us to put forth a most brutal bug-screening and fixing process for each game that followed. This was made especially evident in our second commercial release, Legend of Wukong, for which we estimate around 30% of the game was reprogrammed during our development process. A complete list of programming changes can be found on the Legend of Wukong development history page. Also... A video of the world debut of Star Odyssey at last November's Retro-gaming Connexion event in Crégy-Lès-Meaux, France is now available for viewing on YouTube. Check it out -- World debut of Star Odyssey : new sci-fi RPG from Super Fighter Team for Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Have a nice day.
  24. Hello everyone. As many of you know, Star Odyssey made its world debut last November at the Retro-gaming Connexion event in Crégy-Lès-Meaux, France. What you may not know is that we recorded it. The entire presentation, in English and French, is now available for viewing on YouTube. Check it out -- World debut of Star Odyssey : new sci-fi RPG from Super Fighter Team for Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Thanks for your attention and interest.
  25. I'll make an official announcement here at the forums as soon as the game is back in stock. And of course, as a backorder customer, you'll be sent a shipping confirmation e-mail at that time. Thank you for your patience.
