That so? I coded that into both Spectar and Astro Invader. Try it out. Place a standard CV controller in port #2...and a 2600 (or 7800 compatible) in port #1. Select the options with CV controller and then use the 2600 (or 7800) joystick that is plugged into port #1 to actually play.
I think it helps a lot with playing that game.
I plaed Astro Invader and Search for Stolen Crown jewels
I thought I tried that with both, but maybe not
I will try it again
thanks

I am in belgium
and I went into the trouble of buying a 5200 and changing power supply and modding the console to A/V output
dont know how many european have a working 5200 but it is worth it
not just for Adventure II (I bought it too) but for all the other 5200 games...
so with all the changes (also a Redemption 5200), the console looks more like a "Frankenstein" monster but still

What I usually do is leave the stock controller w/keypad plugged into port #2 and plug a 7800 compatible controller in port #1, like the RSI:7800 stick. This will let me select the game I want and the 7800 controller will give me two button functionality w/out unplugging stuff all the time. Of course, if you play a two-player game the second player is forced to use the stock stick.Well I thought about doing that too, easiest solution, but I played 2 homebrew yesterday: Astro Invader and Search Jewel and none of them offer the option of selecting from the second controller keypad.

I am so fed up with the mushroomed joystick of the colecovision
anyone has another controller to propose...
I am of course not talking about inserting an atari joystick after selecting a game
I am looking for a joystick with keypad that can replace completely the original colevision handle

I was wondering who decides to put a homebrew on cart or not?
Is it you alone, Al or with a decision committee?

-
2 weeks ago, I picked up a "mystery" cart, unusual to find atari here in Belgium on fleamarkets and even more mystery carts...
well it was BOING, not bad...

working in the comic book business as a wholesaler, but being a comic book fan too, I am used to spoilers all the time, and normally it doesnt bother me to read about them...But with Adventure II, I dont know, I want to discover by my own...maybe it is childish...maybe I will be disappointed but I dont care
, got all excited for the moment....
-
that game NEEDS to be put on a cart
-
when is the voting starting?
after the deadline for the games is over?

Open question for Albert!

well I wont be able to help you completely as I didnt do the mod myself
he bought an A/V output here
http://www.8bitdomain.com/about5200.php?PH...34c884888e2d524
you still need to have a mutlistandard tv
and the power supply is an "ordinary" one at the goodl voltage of course that plug into the bizarre original
powersupply/video box
the redemption 5200, is a joystick interface that allows you to use both an 5200 controller (to use the keypad) and a sega genesis/megadrive or 2600 joystick
so you dont "destroy" your so fragile 5200 controller
I can send you pictures, if you want...
