Wow!  That is some good stuff!  Pretty intense.  Gotta love those run fast zombies FTW!

We considered exploring that story a bit more. It's not supposed to be a zombie; just a possessed person with no eyes. However, we didn't sell the idea that it was blind very well. Ends up coming across more of an exercise in visuals and editing. Shorts like Murder Virgin, Flicker, Skeletons and Art is Death are more fleshed out.

All of Reboot's games are well worth the price. If you walk into our gameroom, I can guarantee a reboot game is in the Jaguar.

Save me some time searching Andrew, where can I see your movies?

9 hours ago, The Helper said:

Yes Andrew please link your movies I would like to check them out as well!

Here's a link to the "Dark Current Cinema" playlist on YouTube. All these shorts, excluding the Halloween fan-films, were made available on our very first tape release. I say "our" because my wife and I collaborate on a few projects. We've done two more shorts that will be featured on our next tape release, though we're waiting to debut those at VHS Fest at the Mahoning Drive-in (PA). If you're curious as to how the tapes came out, I'll include a pic here.

Thanks for being so transparent. And thanks for Master-Cast TV too, really enjoyed it over the years. I wish you nothing but the best.

My pleasure. Thank you for enduring the foul mouth and weird sexual analogies. ? I may come back when things settle down at home. Just gonna' take awhile. At least I get to contribute through Reboot, writing mission briefings and spitballing with the crew. That, and getting to see what's in the pipe for upcoming projects is always a treat.

I am sad that you retired Master-Cast TV I definitely liked your content.

Thank you. I appreciate it. It may return here and there once my home life settles down. It's just that since this pandemic struck, the day job is way more demanding. That, and both my parents have serious health concerns in which both my wife and I are doing the best we can to help. I honestly can't remember the last time I was able to sit down and enjoy a video game. Whenever I get a little free time, I try and spend it with the wife, or work on movies. Still, one of these days, Master-Cast may return. Once I accept nobody likes my movies. ??

Reboot won't send review copies out to websites except for Andrew Rosa.  The Immortal John Hancock also will do them but them buy it himself.  I really think Reboot should change that policy and send out a few review copies what the hell there stuff is f - ing good you know!

Just to be clear, I don't receive review copies from Reboot or AtariAge. Rebooteroids was a gift, and I was a tester on Last Strike. Also, seeing as how I collaborate with CyranoJ now, I don't think potential consumers will fully trust any critique of Reboot's work done by me. I may be wrong, though I feel it's the fair thing to do.

In addition, I've retired Master-Cast TV indefinitely. Honestly, I wanna' be the guy making stuff; not critiquing it. So I'm concentrating on my movies - even releasing them on Betamax and VHS.

  6. Dude, that's progress right there. You'll find the sweet spot and persevere. It took me a hot minute and lots of cursing, but I did it. LOL! If my dumb ass can do it, you should be in like Flynn.

Didn't even notice that error with the manual. I just followed their placement on the screen. Where I sometimes screw up now is the smart laser. I get the buttons crossed in my head and I end pressing '5' instead of '6'. That killed me a couple times because my timing was on point, but I kept thinking '5'....

There are days in which I hate my brain.

  7. First of all, there's no shame in using the "Novice" setting. Remember, "Pride goeth before the fall." LOL!

Like you, I struggled with the first level. My greatest obstacle - no, my nemesis - was the red serpents at the very end. It releases a string of laser fire that can kill in a single blast. Doesn't help that it's built like a brick shit-house and hugs your craft like a clingy grandmother. My advice to you is collect all the power-ups, or as many as it takes to charge your shields and blaster. Remember, power-ups will charge whichever one is highlighted, so - once the selected power-up turns 'GREEN' - move onto the next as soon as possible. You want that shield maxed out by the time you reach the serpents.

You have the 'smart laser', in which you only get three per mission. Again, save 'em for the red serpent. It's a waste to use 'em elsewhere since every other enemy appears in the same numbers and position, and are considerably weaker. Even the blue serpents are chumps compared to the red. As soon as the red serpent appears, select the blaster charge and hit it like a high school kegger. Its attack pattern doesn't change, so memorize it. Once you have the timing down for when it unleashes its laser attack, hit your 'smart laser'. Just one! You'll need the other two (wait for it). Finish it off with your charged lasers and it should bust up at the seams....

Then, we get a SECOND RED SERPENT! Yes, another one. As if the first wasn't hard enough. However, you should still have two 'smart lasers' available to you. Feel free to use 'em here (the level ends with its destruction), though I suggest timing their use to coincide with its attack - just to save wear-and-tear on your thumbs trying to blast away its neon string of anal-bead like lasers.

With any luck, it goes boom, and you're off to Mission 2.

Good luck, sir. May the schwartz be with you!

  8. I'd argue the Jaguar was already saved; by its fans. The folks that continue to produce games for it, and the players that buy and share their experiences with others, they saved the Jaguar years ago. It's still alive. I mean, shit! I think folks show the console more respect now than when it was launched. That's saying something, considering we have numerous click-bait articles and YouTube programs that continue to push it as the punchline of retro gaming. The Jaguar died, only to be resurrected. IT LIVES, DAMN YOU! IT LIVES!

I just get so sick of hearing all the negatively surrounding the console by so many of the Johnny-come-latelys. I think their reference for info on the console is most likely the 10 year old AVGN episode. We get it, you think the console sucks, you think all the games suck, and you think it's entertaining just to talk about how much you think it sucks. Sorry, that's not entertaining. That's been done before. All the info on the console is readily available by now, so what are they evening bringing to the table? Just trying to get clicks?

The only recent Jag content I've liked is Andrew's.

Accurate. Unfrotunately, many of 'em tend to do well. Like you, I find them boring. I'll watch Stop Skeletons from Fighting, Southern Sega Gentleman, and Retro Gaming Arts. That, or Gamer Ahmer because her collection's positively insane (kiosks out the ass, and she enjoys SEGA and Atari). I dig the "Punching Weight" series on SSFF, and SSG is pretty fuckin' genuine and fair. Retro Gaming Arts focuses mainly on console repair, modification, etc. That got me into trying my hand at soldering. Those are good channels where I feel they actually care. They wanna' make content that has value beyond, "The CD-i is total fucking gar-bitch! Thank you so much for liking, commenting and subscribing. Be sure to check out my Patreon, and hit the gift shop for a hot beverage thermal mug and free balloons for the kids!"

Also, I'm glad you dig on the videos. I'm working on Hover Strike right now (cart only, for I don't have Jaguar CD), but I'm really wanting to see the final. The previous owner told me it's hard as fuck. LOL!

That's another thing I forgot to mention that I dislike about many YT videos, they often state a bunch of BS. I've seen many Neo Geo videos that are full of nonsense in that regard.

Well, that's certainly Nate the Gamer, though there's plenty more. I'd swear some of 'em don't even bother to skim Wikipedia. Instead, they're going completely off memory, or shit they heard in other videos. With Nate, considering what he recycled, pretty sure his "research" ended with the AVGN two-part episode.

Not sure I've watched him. I saw some new 32x vs genesis MK2 video this week, I've seen SO many of those over the years. There is some good content out there, I forget the series, but the guy who says he's broadcasting from space or whatever, classic game review? It's good for gameplay videos if I'm not familiar with a game. But then you've got 22 year olds reviewing Atari and NES games. Sorry, kid, I played that before you were even born. And then you've got some old timers clearly phoning it in just to rush out whatever garbage on Vita games or whatever they can.

He's fairly new. Only 119 subscribers and his views are in the toilet. Four months ago he reviewed the Jaguar and a few games. I think he falls in the "22-year old talkin' retro" category. If you wanna' face-palm harder than Ryan Reynolds after X-Men Origins, link below.

Yeah, the comparison videos are easy views. I'll touch on different versions in my shit - when available to me at least - though I rarely devote an entire video to it. Like you said, there's tons of 'em. Unless the host is going to do a deep dive into the 'how' and 'why', it's like, "Why bother? Watch VCDECIDE." They've made plenty of great side-by-side comparison videos spanning damn near every console. Unless they're sharing an opinion or preference, it's kinda' meh.

Andrew Rosa, well your videos are the best new stuff I've seen, and second opinion has always been a favorite.  3,500 followers of the right type, may be more of the "Jag" community than you think.  Your video's and "Sega Lord X" are some of the best reviews, so much I don't mind watching them after I already own the games myself.   Also don't forget, the Jaguar is currently at its highest selling point for now, even more that 2 years ago, so interested parties with "expendable" cash, will be watching your stuff, I'm sure.

Fair point, and thank you again. I'm fairly certain - at the very least - the last 1,500 subscribers have been due to my Jaguar videos, though many of them admit to already having the console. However, a lot of my fellow SEGA fans that subbed prior are now looking at the Jaguar with interest. That's kinda' cool. I feel the Jaguar deserves good attention.

No offense to anyone, but I'm pretty much over most of the video game videos that are out there. There are only so many "HIDDEN GEMS" or "SNES vs GENESIS versions of XYZ" comparison videos I can watch. Or gameplay with someone who played the game for 15 minutes total before making the next video for money.

Oh, so you've watched Nate the Gamer? Hahaha!

I feel ya' though. A lot of channels do that, and there's more and more popping up every day.

Andrew Rosa,  I watch your video's and was a fan of Second Opinion Games before.   I have to say here that I'm a huge fan and love the "Atari Jaguar Ad" intro you have on your video's.   Even though its boosting the cost of the hardware and games, your great reviews are bringing a new light to a dead console, and very informative on some crap games, even though I feel bad about Wave 1 games, I feel he really did try to improve some things in his last game, but I didn't buy it either.   But thanks for showing the Jaguar as the great console it actually is, as crazy as that sounds, your video's have highlighted how good the system can be if you have the right games, anyway, just had to say thanks for the great vids and re-defining Atari Jaguars history.

LOL! I appreciate the kind words, and I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. That, and it's nice to think they're helping shed a different light on a much-maligned console. I do question how much impact my videos have on the console/games monetary value, only because my channel's pretty small. 3,500 subscribers may sound like a lot, though it's insignificant when compared to those that regularly crap all over the console. If anything, Second Opinion Games is having more of an impact. He has more subscribers than me and - before I had a Jaguar in my hands - his videos pointed me to games like Iron Soldier, Super Burnout and Rebooteroids....

Still, I remember prices being terrible prior to receiving my console. Console bundles on eBay (system, hook-ups, controller, two games - often lower tier titles like Cybermorph and Checkered Flag) typically selling for $250-$300. If it had some sought-after releases (Alien vs. Predator, Tempest 2000, Doom, and so on), tack on another $150-$200. That was just two years ago. Prices are still pretty horrendous. Fuck! Have you seen the bundles Jaguar CD bundles there? It makes my wallet clench as if it just dropped the soap in a prison shower room. Awful. That being said, a lot of this stuff will only sell for however much people are willing to pay. Jaguar fans it would seem have disposable income. LOL!

I wouldn't feel too bad for Wave1Games. According to him, his game's are selling well. He has three positive reviews for Saucer Wars, thanks to far more prominent content creators, and there's plenty of projects in the pipeline. His business seems to be thriving in spite of my input.

  15. Speaking as a content creator that now focuses mainly on Jaguar and its respective games, it's not just to get 'clicks' and 'likes'. The system's always fascinated me, but I had been a SEGA whore since I was 6-years old. Always put SEGA - especially Saturn - above all else when collecting. Once I had an opportunity to get a Jaguar, thanks to my wife, I jumped on it. Since then, I've been a tad obsessed. Never would have dreamed I would end up buying another Jaguar for link-play purposes, or two IMAGIN shells for customization, or getting a Skunk to test upcoming home-brew titles, or losing many hours to Alien vs. Predator, Tempest 2000, Rebooteroids, Ultra Vortek, Defender 2000, Attack of the Mutant Penguins, and so on. Sure, it has some shit games, but that's one of the more fascinating things about this console; even its garbage is fascinating.

When making my videos, I try to be fair. I wanna' show newcomers the gems as well as the crap. With any console, I feel, you gotta' take the good with the bad. To be completely honest, I'm really tired of the more negative shit said about the Jaguar because so much of it is either misinformation for the sake of laughs, or sheer ignorance. I try to counteract that with my videos.

As for the trading of ROM files of home-brew titles, I feel toward that as I do with re-productions. So long as the game's still available, I'm all for supporting the developer and publisher. Skyhammer, Protector, Astrostorm, Rebooteroids, they're all still available. The folks that made 'em still see a return and they should receive compensation if you wanna' play their games. That being said, if it's something like BattleSphere where we may never see another run of carts and all sales are now secondhand - costing thousands of dollars - then I'm a bit more lenient. If they should ever announce another run and the carts are like $100, I'll happily pay it. It's well earned.

Wouldn't worry too much about how people perceive the insanity or drama within the community. Every scene has its share, from Saturn to Neo Geo.... Especially Neo Geo. LOL!

    Sigh.

I'm exhausted. I haven’t slept more than 3 hours at a stretch for 6 months.

See Kieren and Andrews know that I’m vulnerable because I was stupid enough to explain that to them. About my brain being obsessed with following truths and rules. About being honest and able to verify everything I do.

    so here are some truths:

    * never one was money discussed regarding Horace. Ever. In fact I have a DM from you stating that there was no money concerns over it.

    * I have all the emails saved from Andrews and I talking...4 of them.  Money, charities or anything like that where never discussed.

    * where you get the idea that I’ve somehow told Andrews about Sarah’s videos I’m not sure. Again, I have every single conversation with you and Andrews saved. And I’ve shared that with Sarah

    * your statement was very deliberately timed to coincide with Play Margate. We are both in attendance and you would know it would be hard for us both to attend even without that rot you published.

    * Andrews to this day still hasn’t shown me proof of IP ownership. I’ve never received a cease and desist

    * I couldn’t coerce a fruit fly to eat a banana.

    * the plushies at Blackpool belonged to the ZX Next team. I have receipts proving their purchase. They were used as photo props and for promotional purposes. I was assured that it was absolutely fine to do this. When this kicked off I asked Andrews to pass proof of ownership to them as I was under the impression that they were in discussions with him over it. At this point Andrews said that he hoped ZX Next would cover me legally because he was going to “assert his rights” or whatever. A senior member of that team then messaged me to tell me to stop making the toy. Since then I’ve had no contact with them at all and they chose to write out Horace from their game development.

    * for my part, I value Sarah’s friendship immensely. I have shared all my evidence with them. We are similar people in many respects and I would never ever betray her trust or do anything to bring her harm.

*Sarah actually supported me this week when I was at crisis point mentally. Very seriously making plans to die. That is what I’ve been pushed to through this. The mental strain is now manifesting physically. But for Kieren, it appears that it only matters it he feels suicidal. Anyone else must be making it up.

    * I need to get through this weekend he has deliberately made this harder for me with this ridiculous statement release. I’m trying to support myself with a tiny business that was almost wiped off the map with lies. And for what...I don’t even earn enough to fill out a tax return.

    * I’ve had a horrible 2 years of serious illness, bereavement, stress and upset. I hope you are really happy that you’ve added to that. It seems to bring you some sort of bizarre pleasure to lie and bring hurt.

This is the only comment I’m going to make and I’m not going to share the evidence here publicly because I’m exploring my legal rights at the moment.

I’m devastated by all this. I don’t have a huge amount going for me. I’m trying to honestly make my way in the world. I’m trying to support my family just like you Kieren. With mobility problems and MH problems and autism too.

But the difference is I would never EVER stoop to your kind of behaviour. I pity you for the very lonely life you will end up leading.

Bravo for trying to drag me down to your level with you..you failed.

I'm not laughing at your statement. In fact, I'm fucking thrilled to see you standing up for yourself and setting shit straight. Not that anyone was buying into Kieren's "alternative facts" one second, but you get what I mean....

However, I'm sorry, but "I couldn't coerce a fruit fly to eat a banana." ???? Crying. Dying. Now. Thank you for that bit of levity.

  19. I have my own guess. He'll run silent for two weeks, return with his account still set to 'private', though Kieren will claim that he took a break to receive treatment for self-harming and therapy. Then he'll soon launch into a series of Tweets promoting himself as an advocate for anti-bullying (maybe even try to ally himself with the Anti-Bullying Alliance), cut-and-paste inspirational quotes about strength, not giving up, etc. If he's really clever, Kieren will say that he forgives all those responsible for pushing him to the brink of self-destruction, trying to look enlightened and healed, which will last for - maybe - 15 days. Before you know it, Kieren will be "back to normal", robbing people of credit, stealing others work, occasionally extracting this episode from his ass whenever he feels threatened....

Second option? If his excuses are as lazy as his writing, "I was hacked! Obviously, it was AA trying to ruin me. Liard's Liar? Very funny. I assure you I never contemplated suicide for even a moment and I'm deeply disgusted with these tactics. Rest assured these incels will be reported to those with authority to rectify this situation and finally end this toxic environment they have created."

    Anyone wanna' place bets?
