So only 12 were sold last night? Do you have an idea of when you will be offering up another batch from the remaining 108? My Atari 7800 has been lonely too long.
-
Dang I missed it too.

Yes get the UAV Boards from the Brewing Academy for S-VIDEO. I have done the mods to the Atari 2600, 5200, 7800 and XEGS. The power mod for the 5200 from Console5 was what I used as well. It is a very easy mod and well worth it. As for the Audio, you will only have mono but I always just add the stereo Jack's and tie left and right together inside the console. You then have mono stereo. When doing that mod do not leave out the 50uF cap or your sound will be way too high compared to your other systems. The hardest system to modify of the onles listed above was the 2600. So many different versions. I did my Heavy Sixer. Sorry purists! I never plan to sell so the new holes in the back don't bother me. The video out of all of them is fantastic. I only play on CRTs. R, Paul

Can you use this with the S-Video/ Composite UAV Board?
-
They do feel like they have more tactile feel but they do not take away from the original feel. The big and only difference being they work and work every time.
-
I bought two kits and rebuilt my own controllers.
-
Yes they are worth the Premium Price. They work flawlessly every time. Sent from my SM-G955U1 using Tapatalk

Separate Composite Luma/chroma to YPbPr
paulderr replied to Jeffrey Worley's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
If Component is what you are after I would do what Rybags suggests and get the Sopfia board. It will do RGB. Then you can use a converter to go to Component. If you are in the US, you will likely not have a TV with RGB unless you have a PVM or BVM. If you have one of those you can use S-Video now. I S-Video mod all my old game systems and computers if possible. I have put the UAV board in my Atari 2600, 5200 and 7800's. I plan to do the Atari 400, 800XL and 1200XL soon. All for using S-Video. Then I modded my Commodore 1702 to have a Standard S-Video plug along with the separate Chroma and Luma inputs. The video quality compared to RF is astounding. Also, if you are using an LCD or newer type TV I again highly suggest you find a good CRT. If you can get a good free or very cheap TV with S-video non-HD era that will be best for the 240p without lag. If you can find a Commadore 1702 or the 1802 get it and use that. They are freaking fantastic and will accept most of the signals you throw at them with ease. Plus is adjustable from the front controls like no other consumer TVs. Fantastic!!! -
Separate Composite Luma/chroma to YPbPr
paulderr replied to Jeffrey Worley's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
The 800XL has composite output already without the UAV board. However, the UAV board has a better Composite output. The S-Video is separate all together. If you are using a TV without S- video, get a TV with S-Video. Preferably a CRT. You can internally disconnect the Composite before it gets to the pins on the back of the standard video connector on the 800xl that way you don't have to cut new holes and can use original connector. Audio is pulled from a point right next to where you can tie into the line for Composite on the board. If you have audio on your S-Video line you have done something wrong. If you are not going to use a TV with S-video input then leave the S-Video outputs on the UAV alone. Again, get a TV with s-video. It is way better. Way way better. People will give you a free TV. My suggestion is a JVC D-Series if you see one pop up near you. Grab it. They are fantastic. -
They are a little different.

End of SIO chain : SIO2SD vs SDrive Max vs [ ... ] ?
paulderr replied to 6BQ5's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I power my SDrive-Max from the Atari XE. The system provides the 5V through the port and the Arduino has an onboard regulator. It works for me. I turn on the XE and the SDrive-Max turns on at same time. When I got my SDRIVE-Max it was wired up to require the outside power supply but it was annoying and took up an extra outlet. It does say it clearly on their website that it now comes as a Circuit board and you will need to put it in your own case or purchase it separately like Dragonstomper pointed out above. I have overlooked things like this before too. So I understand your frustration. But it is pretty easy to take a $1 crap game and swap out the circuit boards and then slap on the new label if you want it. There is always the option of using the 2600 label creator and making your own better looking label. I will probably do that in the near future.

I ordered mine a few weeks ago. The new way they are delivered is like you bought. It was cheaper than previously. You can use a duplicate or cheap Cartridge or 3D print one to put the circuit board in and then add the label. You will have to cut the usb and sd card slots. I got mine in the cart. During checkout there was an option to add a an instruction manual and or a case. The case would have been a $10 upgrade. I didn't feel like pulling apart an original game cart or 3D Printing one so I paid the $10. Maybe you can order just the case if you contact them.
