Still plugging away on these- separating into individual pages at the moment (the slow, tedious portion). Managed to pick up a 4th(!) scanner so I knocked out ~5000 pages this last week, but now I'm back to the editing stage to take a break- whatever that is.

Still on the lookout for Atlantis, Demon Attack, the Nimble Numbers Ned Math Book, and possibly Power Lords.

Besides these forum pages, I will get them uploaded to my evilbadman.com site (Under Kirkland's Manual Labor-not yet public) when I am closer to completion.

It's ongoing- down two merchandisers at work and I had to cover for a salesman vacation. I've scanned all of my remaining manuals in the meantime, now it's just a matter of finding time to clean them up..

Okay, so I know a bunch of you are just along for the ride (and manuals), but my angle is the preservation side of things. Now of course that makes for some ridiculously large filesizes, so just so you know the editing is all done at 600-1600 dpi before being resized down to manageable chunks. I like 48bit RAWs at 800dpi, but in the case of Computer Intro I take resolution over color depth and went with [email protected]

Anyways, up next is Smithereens! (compliments of Pickaxe Brad), since this Computer Intro manual is kicking my ass.

Question for people with Computer Intro-

I currently plan on putting the gatefold sheets (foldouts front and back of manual, and the goofy Glossary pages) right into the pdf manual where they are. Should I also put them in a separate, printable pdf set so they can be the "handy reference" it's supposed to be?

Trust me, I growled a bit when I first popped the first few pages into Photoshop, then I mumbled, "something about a gift horse" and got to work.

I wasn't planning on making a project out of this one, but here we are. 2nd to last submission from bah.

Game board isn't perfect (didn't stitch together as well as I'd like), but it is better than what is currently available *cough*... anyways, 300dpi for printing.

Not entirely sure how I feel about the main manual and its default facing pages. I work with/optimize for a 4K monitor, so it might not be great as facing pages on other resolutions? Dunno- open to opinions.

So I did a poll yesterday to determine which manual to do next and the winner was.......

A couple pages in it dawned on me that it was April Fool's day and people suck
Anyways, preservation is all about the obscure and the odd, because mainstream games will get lovin' for a generation, while these gems(?) will slowly get forever lost from the public eye, and what few copies remain will sit gathering dust in some hoarder's basement. (Like mine- I'm not judging)

bah is just dominating with scan submissions! Awesome!!

Also, a shout out to whoever dumped a bunch of manuals on ebay yesterday- the covers look better than some of mine so upgrades=good.

So bah did have a concern about the scruffiness of his Attack of the Timelords! cover, while the rest of the manual cleaned up quite nicely. If anyone would like to submit a cleaner copy of the cover, I will update.

I keep eyeballing that sealed NIB Wall Street Fortune Hunt on EBay for $115. Would anyone be interested in an unsealed, NIB that had only it's contents scanned- never used? Not really in a position to throw away $115 for a game I can't play..

Would anyone who has this be able to scan the manual? It's one of the few missing manuals for this system which have yet to be preserved.
