That helps a lot, I had a picture of one trying to match it perfectly so it was not a good quest but, now that I see it's fairly flexable, I should be able to find one a LOT easier I'm assuming it's not advised to use a not spec'd power supply for long term. It's going to go in a switched cabinet (so they are not always plugged in), I don't want to have it burn out the system 2-3 years from now.

Thanks for the info and help ! This has cleared up a lot of questions. Having a system in English is critical to me, I'll search around to see what is involved to install a Unibios and see how complex it is for the install. I guess if I find a Japanese model, I will have to figure the costs to buy/install of the Unibios. This is really good to know. I was avoiding Japanese models because of the language thing. Tried that about 10 different ways, cardboard in front, back, pushing back, pushing forward, 1/2 way out and pushing...every way I could think of, no change. I guess I'll add it to my list of consoles to open up tonight while watching the World Series (Go Sox !)

Hey all, I am working on getting my classic consoles back, I have about 20 boxed Odyssey 2 games that are in pretty good shape. I've been trying to find a matching powercord for my console. It got lost along the way. The only ones I can seem to find is on ebay and they want $35+ for them... I think that is 2x times I paid for the whole console Any other more "affordable" options for a powercord ? I just cant find anything affordable that hits the voltage needed. Thanks !

Anthony, Thanks ! Just a quick one on this. Is the AES system region locked ? Or can the play all games ? Even if I get the system up, will the menus be in japanese or can they be changed to English ? Are they fairly easy to repair ? I know Cart based systems very well, right now I am trying to get all my classic consoles back up. Going to buy a 6' X6' ikea cab and modifying it. Then I am going to setup 20 classic consoles. Wire them all up through a scaler to get to my 4K tv. Unless I my NeoGeo shows up, I will be leaving a shelf for it. I've been working over the last 2 months getting the systems back up and running, so far I have 16 consoles(not including anything from the last 8-10 years)

I pretty sure they that they are straight and level. As I said, I checked the pins and slot with a magnifying glass with great detail. If I had small tools I would polish each pin one by one. There is nothing sitting at the bottom of them. I'll pull it apart again and take a look over those pins to see if there is any issues. I am using a S-Video cable. It was a $35 cable because I wanted to get the right cable.

Was always wondering what they are worth. I have the Original Atari Pong and Super Pong.. I also have the Tele-Games Pong as well. With a quick look through ebay sold listings... Not worth that much. The Pong console sells for around $25-45 (complete or just console). There was a very minty one in the original box with all paperwork that went for $185...

Thanks for the reply. I had a NES cleaning kit... the one that cart slot cleaner, I cut it into pieces so I can use it on the Jag. I used 91% Isopropyl Alcohol (it's what I have), I used a Q-tips to apply it to the NES cleaner. I would clean the slot, see there was dirt on it, I would clean the connector then reapply with the Q-tip, I kept doing it, like 5-7 times till no signs of dirt. Should I be doing anything else to clean this correctly ? I've been using Brasso to clean my older carts (NES mainly or anything with brass connectors). I'd be tempted to use that but, it would make a big mess. The carts I tried both were cleaned on the edge and polished.. As for the power supply, I cant find the original JAG one but, I am using (suggested) Sega 1602-1 power cord. It's been confirmed that would work. I know it works perfectly on the Sega Genesis (was playing Sonic 2 with it the other day). I plan on buying a OEM style at some point. I tried with out a controller attached, same exact result. The other day troubleshooting it, I completely pulled it apart, blew everything out (it really does look new now, no more dust). I even polished the connectors to confirm there is no video connection issues. These are things I have tried already before posting. Any other thoughts to try ? I really want to get this back up and running.

Hi, I know the Red screen is a bad thing but, it's been packed away for 20 years, and now every game is getting a Red Screen. I even opened a brand new game (yea, it was a football game that was not high value) to try with the same result. I checked the pins with a magnifying glass and some lights, I assure you there are no bent pins or anything of the sort. I even took one of the NES cleaning kits and used parts of it to clean the pins on it to make sure they were getting a solid connection. I opened it and checked the shape of caps and other things on the motherboard, no signs of FAT caps or ones that leaked. What else can I try to fix this and if I am screwed, does anyone troubleshoot these for a "reasonable" price ?

Wana know what really sucks. I had a NeoGeo Gold system with Memory card back on release. So I am now trying to get my systems back, they were all in a box at my parents house. We cant find that box... So I have 2 Controllers, RF adapter, 8 Cart games for a NeoGeo (including some good ones like ViewPoint) but, No NeoGeo Even used ones are going for $400 plus... that really sucks... All I need is the system and a power cord and I'd be good. My mom is doing some big searches and clean up this week so she is keeping her eyes open...I even sent her pictures... CROSSING FINGERS (and toes)!

Wow, I know a LOT of history on Atari...been following Nolan Bushnell's story and everything that has happened at and to Atari over the years. This is one console I have HEARD of but, never even saw a picture of one of them. Thanks for the link but, over $10K...man, it would be cool to have but, way out of my budget..

Hey all, I've been trying to get my classic consoles up and running for a cabinet I trying to work with (against my wife's views). I have been working, upgrading and fixing consoles that I have. So, the problem with my Arcadia 2001, It powers on but, I get no RF out. Nothing changes on the TV. The light comes on like it is turning on. Assuming it's working fine besides the RF out, should I attempt a A/V out and see if it works, or where should I start with this one? I tried to pull it apart but, the entire head shield is soddered so I don't want to do it unless I have a plan. Thanks !

This is always a interesting discussion. Although on my Home Theater PC (based off Windows Media Center), I installed the Windows version of Emulation Station with pretty much everything from the 2600 to the Wii on it. ONLY about 15-20 titles for each console as thise are my favorates, I sitll love the orginal feel off playing off the origral cart/disc. I'm working on a project now getting all my old consoles tested and fixed where needed to setup in a large cabinet that will handle 20 consoles all connected and working. This is just for older consoles, as I will have another station for modern consoles (Xbox One X, PS4, Xbox 360, WiiU and swich (commning soon)). Never mind the all the games (in a closet) and my 5 full size arcade machines. I have been collecting from the 2600 days and have had almost every system from then to now. It's against my wife's wishes(the cabinet with 20 consoles) but, as it's in a basement living room, It's something that I will be doing. Yea, yea, yea, I know...Happy wife, Happy life but, This is one thing I am doing and she knows it.

So, I just pulled out by Atari 5200 from bubble wrap, this is the system I owned from brand new. Backstory, When living at my parents I only had space for 6 consoles (yes, I have always had more than one console setup from the time I was 12). So as the 5200 was older and had no more room for it, I would bubble wrap it, seal it up and put on it a shelf. So now 30 years later, I open it up and power it up. To my surprise, I dropped in a cart and hit the power button, she booted right up, video is fine, all is happy(I wish all of my 20ish consoles was this smooth). I open the back to pull out the controllers that were in the back of it. and BOTH don't work. They worked perfectly when they were packed up (I do remember it). So I guess I will try the eraser thing and a general cleanup to see if that fixes them. Dam I heard about these controllers failing but, never seen one.... Edit: Tried with the eraser (first video) then followed up with a little rubbing alcohol and they work PERFECT ! Thanks !

You want to talk about a game collector. I've been watching "last gamer" for a while (I own about 30 different consoles and maybe about 2500+ games so watch a lot of youtube at times). A TON of consoles is a understatement (or even arcade games for that matter) If you watch more videos of his, he expanded his home for this collection. His collection side of the home is LARGER than the living space, a LOT larger. Not sure my wife would let me do that one !
