  1. Hey all, I've been looking for one of these boards for a while now. I know it's possible to build one As the board is here and there is BOM for all the parts https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/XKoWs6TP Was looking for an assembled one, depending on the price. If you have one for sale, drop me a PM ! Thanks !
  2. I say for people to grab the rom before it goes away... The original dev wont even say who he is... And people do this because they love the game. "Due to copyright reasons, the dev obviously doesnt want this shared under his name and won’t offer it for download in any official way." And yes, Nintendo will shut it down once they catch wind of it... but, I got a copy !
  3. Hey all, I just ran into this on my feed on Twitter, and WOW, I cant wait to be able to play it. It looks epic... Video/pics here... Some examples from above... It's a completely new game, all new levels, 4 player capable and stays faithful of the original. There is a rom out there for it, that I found, if you follow some of the messages on the above link, you should be able to find it. I have a Super Wild card but, the floppy drive is dead. I ordered a Floppy Emulator and it's due in tomorrow... This means I have the rom and I cant even play it tonight It really does look incredible and the dev put years of work into it..
  4. Phantasy Star is my favorite, I still play it every 5-6 years, I just played/finished the re translation version of it. Great game.. Back in the day, comparing the NES vs the Master system (I did have both of them), the master system games always looked better but, the NES had bigger titles... Did you know back in the day, If you had a Master System and got STUCK on a game, you could call them and they would MAIL you a cheat sheet/walk through? I have a few of them, including Phantasy Star...
  5. Hey all, Looking for some Orange OEM Game Cube controllers. Got kind of obsessed getting an Orange GameCube and grabbed one, so looking for a fair deal for some controllers. If they don't work, as long as they are not physically broken/smashed, as long as the deal is right, I might be interested BUT, I do want Original Nintendo ones. Thanks for your time ! -Dave
  6. I guess it depends on the type of kid you were, Some kids would just deal with it, others, like myself, would wait till the parents are out, pull out my Nintendo bits (as I had some back then) and pull apart the cart, get the board right in the slot(as you could go around that and use some needle nose pliers to get it in the slot) and play the game... If they came home, shut off the system and pop it back up, my parents would not even notice the little board in the bottom of the slot
  7. Funny story... I found my original one.... It was dusty as hell, and when I was about to wipe it down I thought, it looks cool and classic with the dust. It sits on my shelf full of dust..
  8. A bunch of things... A Vectrex with a bunch of games, a Virtual Boy fully working with like 6 games... I was a big Neo-Geo AES fan back in the day, I had one a few months after release. I have Viewpoint Neo-Geo cart (and about 6-7 others) and Lords of Thunder for the Duo... 2 of the more pricier games I have that come to mind right now. I collected back in the day 80's and 90's. Back in the mid 80's I took an ad out in the paper for buying games... I got lots of 2600, 5200, and even got an Arcadia 2001 with like 15 games, plus handfuls of other consoles for pennies on the dollars.
  9. Very cool...always wanted one of these... lol Classic stuff..
  10. Very cool.... Was trying to justify the cost of a 3-D printer... after the last few days, I think I can see the value in having one....
  11. I was thinking the same thing when I saw his video...
  12. I thought about it, and would of been interested but, I got enough projects right now!
  13. I did the retro gaming convention that came to Hartford, CT (I live in CT), I enjoyed it but, found a lot of prices were better on eBay. I was looking for some stuff but, as it's odd ball stuff, I could not find them there. I did score tickets for PAX East, that will be going to in February. Cant wait for that one...
  14. Not sure yet. I have a Xbox one X and a PS4... I am running the Xbox one X in 4K and HDR and it looks amazing (on selected titles of course). Still planning to get a Switch but, just never got one.. I do most of my modern gaming on my Xbox one or PC.. As for the Next Xbox, SSD would be nice but, I think I would be more interested in a 5tb storage option. With 4K games, the 1tb option fills up very quick. Deleting and moving games is just getting old... I already have a 1tb Xbox one X and a 5tb drive that is 85% full. It's going to come down to exclusives that will take me to buy a PS5, as it looks like "The Last Of Us 2" will be a PS4 title, and it's one I am waiting for...like losing sleep waiting for... The problem for me is my back log...so many games I got but, never finsihed, then a NEW game comes out and I must play it.... So the NEW Modern Warfare, Gear 5 and Forza Horizon 4... those are my CURRENT playing games... never mind my mountain of backlogs..
  15. Forza Horizon 4 is my kind of go to every once and a while game after putting like 30 hours into it... Also playing Modern Warfare (the 2019 one) and Gears 5 (waiting on my Brother as we are going thought it together) I maxed out my Xbox live for 3 years... then I paid the $1 to get game pass ultimate so I could have some games that I never picked up... Nice playing a few odd ball games on the PC too... Also did some achievement hunting... indy or $20-30 games...short ones... buzzed through 5 of them but, some really good, fun experiences...some games I would over never paid for but, if I knew what they were like, I would of... really great stuff that can be discovered by doing this. If you want to expand your Xbox live the longest for the cheapest... Try to get 1 month cards from someone ebay... Get a year of 1 month cards... If you put in a 1 month code, they will offer you another 14 days if you leave auto renew on. SO for every month, you get almost a month and 1/2... That is how I maxed out mine for like $75... Just remember to disable it before it ends, or you will pay $60 for a year (or even more for game pass)
  16. Odds are like 99% they will... The Xbox name came from Direct-X, it's where it came from. A dedicated box that supported Direct-X. If your familiar with it on a PC it's a nice tech, so the same game on a PC level will look very good at 480p, as it also would look better at 4K... It's the same game and textures that it scales accordingly. It's where Microsoft is going and where they have been with this. Xbox one games will going forward work on all systems going forward. So, you could take a game designed for Scarlet, drop the disc in a day one Xbox one (original) and it will play. Wont look as nice but, still will look good but, it will play just like it would on the 8K console... So, they worked so hard on Xbox 360 compatibly on the Xbox one.... I would be beyond shocked that they would just dump it because of a new console... They even are doing the ORIGNAL OG Xbox games on the Xbox one... OF course, they might not do compatibility on some non-popular or games that have issues. There is a few videos ( youtube) on hacking the Xbox one to enable it for all games, and it was shocking how many games not on the official list worked fine but, there was others that crashed a lot, or had other issues. I would love a PREVIEW type program where you can use any disc but, understanding it could crash and be as is... It appears that gamers LIKE compatibility with older consoles and see a value in having that feature... funny how that works... Seems like they are learning this all over..
  17. Take a step back, find a smother way to do things. Spending 12-15 hours a day on a project that does not make you a ton of money really puts a lot of stress on your life, never mind family. I've been there, done that. I very interested in one, I have not pre-ordered one YET, waiting for the main stream to drop a little, I got plenty of games to play now If there is any help I can provide, feel free to send me a message, willing to help with what I can...
  18. I did the same thing. I compared 3 super Nintendo's, an early, a mid and a 1-chip 02.... I posted it on Twitter... You can see the difference...
  19. I know it's not the easiest thing but, an OLD USED PSP that could be had for under $30, after it's hacked it can run MAME roms... as well as most other systems (N64 can get spotty on it). The controls are nice on the PSP, even the Vita can be hacked and do it...
  20. Check ebay, look over US sellers.. It's where I end up going when I need some.... It's cheaper to get 10 than just one... so keep them, just in case you get a bad one...
  21. Good luck with that one.... Never going to happen. I guess if you fight it, MAYBE. It would be mound of paper work that would net you $5 on a $500 item you sold because there would be a processing fee. Sigh.. It's like the States to double dip in taxes. It's like buying a used car. People who got the car new, paid a hefty tax on the car, and now that I am buying it, I still have to pay taxes on it. They have been doing that for a while now... It's something I need to figure out on a cost. So now, item cost+shipping+ taxes=actual cost of item. There has a few items I was looking at (over $100) that I passed on because the TAXES would put it over what I wanted to pay for the item.
  22. If you wanted to play ROMS... As it's not a emulation setup, I am sure the Everdrives would work. It's a neat device but, bringing 10 carts with me would be a pain, it's why I like the everdrives. Anyway about it, looks like a very cool device to play all old portables with a great screen...
  23. Yes, there was some, I have a few, not sure if they were OEM or 3rd party. I pulled my collection from my parents house and in a old milk crate was wires with controllers, power cords and extention cords. There was a few of them in there. I do remember using them back in the 80's because my consoles were always on one side of the room so we needed long cords to play 2 player games...
  24. If your OK playing them on your Original NES(I did a NESRGB in mine so it looks epic)... You can get a Everdrive N8 and they play back (it will play US and Japan/Japan disc games). I was playing Super Mario 2 (J) and I have Doki Doki Panic but, it appears to just be Super Mario 2 (J)...I'll look to see if I can find the original one.. I was also looking over the Twin Famicoms on ebay the other day, seem to go reasonably priced...if you don't mind the $70+ in shipping from Japan... Oh, I forgot, non-removable controllers, kind of a deal killer for me... As for A/V mods, I am sure there is one available for those systems, if not even a RGB option...
  25. I just did a NESRGB on my FRONT loader... just finished up last night. I did a Nintendo Multi-out connector, running RGB SCART to my Framemister. I also did the stereo mod. I want to give some advice before you start cutting into it. The audio mod "stereo", gives some cool affects but, USE A POT ! and Mix in the mono... and by pass the NESRGB for the audio (it does nothing, they only put it there to make it easier) Take my advice here for a better experience. This is what I followed...(a single dual gang pot) http://www.retrofixes.com/2013/09/nes-stereo-modifications-with-easy.html There is too much separation and some games sound bad with it, so with a pot you can adjust the amount of mono you mix in. For Example on some "shooting" games, the sound affects will come from one speaker but, the music will come parts of both speakers by mixing the mono, you get the shooting from both speakers but, get a nice affect on the music. Trust me, follow this, you will not regret it, I tried running each channnel to each speaker and some games really sounded like crap with it...
