$200 retail... No Joycons...built in so some games might not work as expected. No docking option so it cant be used on TV, motion sensors are gone too. Nice 2nd console or if your looking for PORTABLE only... Not the best option if you dont have a Switch now... I STILL dont have one (was waiting for it to be under $200) but, this is not the option I want.. I need one that works on the TV..

Upgrade your Xbox live sub to Game pass ultimate for $1...
TheCoolDave replied to TheCoolDave's topic in Microsoft Xbox One
Awesome, it's a good deal if you don't mind the digital games... If I like I game, Odds are I will buy it anyway (I dont plan on keeping this forever unless i can get it for almost nothing like this deal). Make yourself a calendar entry, and disable auto renew like 2 months before it's over but ! If your upgrading Xbox live with a card... using a 12 month card, they will offer your a Month for free if you enable auto renew. IF you use a 1 month card, they will give you 14 days (almost 1/2 a month). There are some sellers on eBay offering a year of Xbox live with 12 1 month cards... that nets you more A LOT MORE Xbox live for your money. Also, as I have a SPARE 1 month code(I got 1 month too many), that I tried... It said would convert 20 of the days of the card to Xbox game pass ultimate ... SO when you renew again, you could keep the Xbox game pass going for a long time if you use 1 month cards to renew.... Next month I will use the card to keep my account maxed it for the time being.... -
Truth be told, there will always be a physical option... Even on the NEW high end consoles (New Xbox one 8K speced model), will have a media drive in it. After what people did after the original announcement of the Xbox one, I don't Microsoft OR Sony would make that mistake again. The ONLY problem you will see if some content/games will not be available via physical. Keep buying physical games and you'll be fine with those games...

What are they going for ? I have the original cockpit version of this game but, it's always nice to have..

TheCoolDave replied to toptenmaterial's topic in Emulation
Anyone using a Raspberry PI4 yet ? Wondering how it will do with with N64 and newer systems.... -
I'm a classic gamer but, I also have modern consoles. I prefer the Xbox because of a lot of the exclusives I like are on there and most of my friends play on the Xbox but, I do have a PS4 as well.. Anyway, Microsoft announced game pass Ultimate during E3, this offers Xbox One games (100+) and PC games... Normally $14.99. But, the fine print here.. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/xbox-game-pass-ultimate/cfq7ttc0khs0?irgwc=1&OCID=AID681541_aff_7794_1246483&tduid=(ir__u96rxtgpcokfrlspkk0sohz30n2xjzqyozxwtvkj00)(7794)(1246483)((b2d5f594674a651432d9efa1fcd707d8)(266696)(1650333)()())(b2d5f594674a651432d9efa1fcd707d8)&irclickid=_u96rxtgpcokfrlspkk0sohz30n2xjzqyozxwtvkj00&activetab=pivot%3Aoverviewtab Allows you to upgrade your Xbox live sub to Game pass ultimate for $1. I upgraded my Xbox live sub and maxed it out at 3 years(deals on cards)... I paid $1 and now I have 3 years of Game pass ultimate. Figured someone else would love to jump into this deal... Not every game I will buy but, there is a handfull that I would not mind playing and this helps with that....and you cant beat the price if your an xbox gamer with a xbox live sub already.. Fine print... Note: Purchase Xbox Game Pass Ultimate automatically upgrades your existing Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass membership(s) to Ultimate at a conversion ratio each based on days remaining. Learn how this works at www.xbox.com/gamepass. Future code redemptions are also subject to a conversion ratio. Conversion ratio subject to change. All conversions to Ultimate are final: Once converted, you cannot re-convert your Ultimate membership back to a previous membership. Maximum 36 months of redeemed Ultimate per account at a time, including any converted time from Xbox Live Gold and/or Xbox Game Pass (for PC or console).

Asking opinions on controller mod ports
TheCoolDave replied to Kain3n's topic in Odyssey 2 / Videopac
Personally, I was thinking about creating an adapter so I can use them and keep the console able to use original controllers if I wanted to. This will be preference to each owner. Do you want to keep it looking as original as possible, or do you just want function so it's easier to play ? -
Wow...an intel P133.... I remember... Paying $550 for that chip brand new and that was 10% above cost from CompUSA when I used to work there many years ago..

Unreleased DICE Sega Genesis/Mega drive game HARDCORE
TheCoolDave replied to TheCoolDave's topic in Sega Genesis
Sigh...I posted this original thread... I want to play this on real hardware and I missed out I guess i'll have to pray for a rom so I can try it in my everdrive... -
Yea, thinking the same thing. It's kind of expensive. Very cool, well at least my original Sega CD works perfect for the time being.... The price should drop over time and I might jump on then... Till then my X3 will do fine..

Selling my Apple 2 collection on eBay, advice wanted!
TheCoolDave replied to hoserama99's topic in Auction Central
I sell a lot of things on ebay, time to time.... 1. I like the Priority mail boxes. They come in good amount of sizes and the biggest complaint people give about a seller is how long it takes for them to get their package. Priority mail, 1-3 days through out the US 48. So it's fairly quick. For the odd ball size devices. Take your pictures, FIND a box, pack it, weigh and measure it, THEN list it. You will be able to find out EXACTLY how much it will cost to ship, saves a lot of headaches... 2. Bidding games like that happen time to time, I would not worry too much about it. 3. Did you do a search of sold listings ? This can give you an idea what things have sold in the past. There is always the option to put up a FAIR price, what you feel it's worth, then put "or best offer" So someone can just make you an offer if they are interested but, not for what your asking. I avoid $0.99 auctions because its normally those where I lose money on. Do your homework on each item to get an idea on what it is worth... You could always start something at XXX amount so, you think it could be worth $100 but, you want to get some people interested, start the auction at like $40... 4. These happen time to time... It's a hassle and you cant leave a buyer negative feedback for not paying (but, they can to a seller). If you get a non paying seller, You need to open a case with ebay, then they tell you that you need to wait 4 days, after that you can open a case, and get a final value refund. You need to do this, or your paying fees for something you didn't sell. I normally block (you can set buyer preferences on your auction), the max that I can for non-paying buyers in their history, after doing this, it's kind of rare to get them. 5. This I am not sure on, I started on ebay long before those types of limits so kind of grandfathered in . Good luck ! -

Any mature games coming to the Switch?
TheCoolDave replied to Rick Dangerous's topic in Nintendo Switch
I also agree on this one too. Ever sense I got a Wii, I discovered if I wanted the top AAA games in the best quality picture, I found that current Nintendo consoles are a 2nd console, and you would need another console for the main stream games. Not even 20% of the top games with a Mature rating will end up on a Nintendo system. It's just the fact if it all. If you want those games, you need a 2nd console. Its sad but, it's true... -
I own the cockpit version of this game. Dam that looks awesome, besides the lack of color, almost dead on... Impressive but, would love to see a finished product, running on REAL hardware and not a emulator... Still very cool WTF ? IS this a real cart ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3sup6GO65c

Fairchild Channel F Model 2 - A/V upgrade ?
TheCoolDave replied to TheCoolDave's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Did you have a chance to map out where to pull the Audio from on the Model 2...I am not a schematic expert. Thinking about ATTEMPTING to get one of your boards built but, if you already had some built, I would be interested in one or 2... -
