  1. Congratulations on the flash cart! It looks like you DID give yourself a Christmas present. [emoji16] Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  2. I could use some help with Christmas Carol as well. I've actually played that game quite a lot, and the best I have ever done is probably the fifth or sixth screen. I think it is a terrific game, but I also find it VERY difficult. Any and all advice is welcome. I have been eager to see all of the cutscenes for a long time, and I have only ever seen a few. 3. What level are you guys playing on? (Out of curiosity.) Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  4. I can't even imagine how it is possible that you never experienced a crash. I couldn't count how many times I did, both the black screen and the Pandemonium screen shaking one. I saw it on every console I own (except for one, just because I never tried that one) and on Nostalgia. You should play the lottery or something! [emoji16] Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  5. Someone has to kick it off. Here you go. 8,900. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  6. What level for Frogger? (Did I miss it in the post?) Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  7. The LTO Flash is still in stock. Perhaps it is time for a Christmas present to yourself. [emoji39] Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  8. Three, and it was going up to four since I didn't die fighting Pandemonium. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  9. A fitting end to this round of the competition. Some of you will know why. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  10. Still out shopping, but I was able to get one last game in before leaving. I was doing very well, definitely on my way to a record score. I needed to sacrifice a life to knock myself down. So, I moved into position to take a hit, then BANG BANG BANG, I lost three in a row. I mean, all at once. After that everything fell apart. Clearly it wasn't meant to be. So, congratulations Bamse! Very well deserved. [emoji122][emoji122][emoji122][emoji122][emoji122][emoji122] Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  11. So, I took a quick shot at it in Nostalgia before leaving this morning. Just in case any of you were curious, the game still crashes in emulation. It is absolutely a bug in the game code. Also, I had never tried Nostalgia before. I'm actually quite impressed. It is so much easier to use than Jzintv, even with that frontend that was developed for it, and I felt like the emulation was quite accurate. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  12. Holy cow! Amazing, incredible score. I think you have this in the bag, since I will be out Christmas shopping all day. [emoji39] Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  13. I've never had it happen with fewer than five lives, but it also only happens on the later levels. I don't think any of us have really figured out what causes it. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  14. That definitely is the case. I am at the point now where it crashes 100% of the time for me, unless I carefully manage my extra lives. Even then, it still crashes frequently. I guess "disheartened" is kind of how I feel, but part of it is that it takes a while to get to the point where the crash happens. After all that concentration and work, it is mentally very difficult to start over and try again, particularly when I know that there is a very good chance that the game will just crash again. I don't want to grow to dislike the game, because currently I still do like it despite my struggles. I hope that is a decent explanation. Now, that said, I am very curious to see what the next game is going to be. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  15. It makes me not want to play, to be honest. I find it difficult to get back on the horse after having a terrific game where it crashes. All the effort just feels so futile. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  16. Whatever it is, there is definitely some relation with the crash and getting kind of deep into the game. It never happens to me right at the beginning. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  17. How low do you keep your lives, though? I thought I was okay at five or below until this morning. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  18. Hey all, In the ongoing saga of the "black screen crash", I wanted to tell you about my latest experience. I was playing this morning, and at around 4,000-5,000 points I lost two lives one right after the other. I refocused and managed to get back on track. As I was up at around 8,000-9,000 I had not died and had gotten my lives back up to five. Then the game crashed to the black screen. I think that while the crash has something to do with having a lot of extra lives, I think it also has to do with how long you have gone without dying. In my previous attempt I was consistently gaining extra lives and then killing myself to bring them down. This time I went for a long time without dying, because I needed to get my extra life count back up. It's just an observation, but I do think there might be something to it. Any thoughts? (One last thing... are there any plans to extend the competition that will run through Christmas? I imagine a lot of us will not be able to devote much time over that week. Personally I will be out of state for the entire second week of the competition, if it only runs for two weeks.) Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  19. That would be really appreciated. (Selling them here, I mean.) I have been trying to get my hands on some of the Mattel-era Bump 'n' Jump stuff on eBay to no avail. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  20. Got it. Well, regardless, thanks for the compliments! Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  21. I think there was a laughing face. Perhaps I am just a bit too earnest at times. [emoji16] Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
