  1. As for Analogue shipping, if you can do better for your customer, do it! As for RetroUSB shipping, glad I ordered my Nt Mini v2. I was frustrated at first to have missed the wagon on this one, but happy ending getting the better version in the end (anticipating questions: better because of the black color and because of the cart port; nothing really hype, just personal satisfaction).
  2. Amazon is really efficient, that's for sure. And I pay less taxes going through Amazon for import, too.
  3. Obviously, they have a deal according to the number of units they are going to produce and get better prices behind the curtain. Also, remember part of their benefit is made through the shipping rates...
  4. Wouldn't be a first. At least for the Super Famicom, they released themselves illegal copies of their games in Hong-Kong ahead of Japan to audit the local gamers' reception and decide upon how many carts to produce for Japan to make sure they produce the right number. That concerned first and third-party games, notably including Capcom as "partner in crime".
  5. The problem is that there could be an uncanny similarity that gets you in hot water or the rights holders could try to claim that it was not possible to do without violating their rights (whether that is true or not). This is why Compaq paid lawyers to oversee and audit the separate groups when they made their clone BIOS. They were able to document the isolation so thoroughly as they went along that IBM knew better than to even try. The team that wrote the compatible BIOS had not been shown even a single byte of code from the original regardless of any resulting similarities. Still show off. Better Call Saul; your lawyer will thoroughly document your fake teams isolated work while the real one do the math.
  6. Well, I keep a copy of the leak files to myself, like many have done. For the rest, isolated teams and all are just shows off for legal issues, but who can prove teams were totally isolated for real? Just work offline on disposable hardware destroyed after the work is done and that's it, gone are you proof and your lawsuit. This is not Halt and Catch Fire, but reality. That reminds me when the GBA devkit leaked. Emulators started to pop soon after and every emu author made a point to state they didn't use the devkit for developing their emu, while showing pictures of their emu running the demo included with the devkit. Total hypocrisy.
  7. I think I remember Kevtris explained he used something "virtual machines" (not his exact words, I believe), but that would be enough for me to call Kevtris' FPGA implementations "emulators". Otherwise, Black Nt Mini is sould out again, DAC is still available as preorder, Mega Sg adapters are still sold out.
  8. So much joy on his face. I now have a better understanding of the poor customer support from Analogue.
  9. "3/23/2020 - ABANDONED - NO STATEMENT OF USE FILED" It seems they simply forgot to do some paperwork, which would be typical Analogue way to doing things right. ?‍♂️
  10. Once again : what Analogue says and what Analogue does; two different things.
  11. If they could be as superb for putting back said adapters on sale...
  12. Now waiting for the adapters to be restocked so that I can buy mine, finally.
  13. What you are going to read is probably going to scandalize 99% of the people here and I promise this is not a provocation from my side, but I do NOT care about jailbreak. So, if it doesn't have jailbreak, I won't be unhappy about it. Of course, it is a bonus which I would rather have as an option, but the lack of jailbreak is not a dealbreaker for me. I care about having the best NES FPGA money can buy (and, fact is I trust Kevtris more than anybody else for FPGA console emulation) and I am so PUMPED to have placed my order the second I saw the mail coming to my mailbox. This made my day. Really. I read and reread the order confirmation mail so many times before coming back here for the latest gossips. Now, I only miss the adapters for the Mega Sg and I will be full. My DAC is also preordered (still available for interested people) with two B&O CRTs ready for it and now, I am saving money for the Pocket, but I hope they will give us some time, because this last Nt Mini batch is quite heavy on the price. Also, I would rather had a plastic and cheaper version, like the Super Nt and Mega Sg, or even having them offering a Famicom colored edition like they did for the Analogue Nt (which I sadly missed), but well, as long as I have the FPGA working, it's fine for me. Finally, this closes the regrets I had selling my second batch gold Analogue Nt, but because of space, money and future proofing concerns, I decided to concentrate on FPGA stuff for consoles, so, yeah, happy day! Oh, and, while I am not the last to point out Analogue shortcomings – and various are they –, this time, I am really grateful to Analogue to have made the effort of producing another batch of their most sought after console. THANK YOU ANALOGUE AND KEVTRIS.
  14. And Nt Mini was designed by Kevtris, AVS wasn't. I do NOT mean to bash AVS's engineer. Just, I follow Kevtris' work almost since he started to post on Internet (yep, am that old...) while I don't know at all AVS's engineer; basically, it is a selling point to many people to rather buy something from someone you know than something else from someone you don't. But, to be fair, I have only seen very good reviews for the AVS, so I wouldn't say it is in inferior product in quality, especially since I never tried it. I just express my personal and non-flaming feeling, adding that I keep the AVS as a replacement option if I never can get an Nt Mini.
  15. Finally happy to wait for the second batch... Seems you ALWAYS must wait for second batch with Analogue more than with any brand.
  16. They said that. Analogue saying and Analogue doing is like comparing Marvel and DC ; totally different universes. So I rest my case: i Want the sold out button to turn ASAP as a Buy button; I will even settle with a pre-order button, as long as I can pay and secure my adapters package.
  17. I wish they would repoen orders for the adapters. Analogue is accumulating a lot of fiascos lately...
  18. Not welcome, nope. I don't trust AVS or Bunnyboy, not even Analogue, BTW, since Analogue people personally lied to me twice, which is a good reason to me to support bootleggers if Analogue doesn't stop this shortage bullshit and the bootleggers beat them to the market. Of course, I rather support Kevtris – He has my trust –, and I would even send Kevtris a personal donation to cover the fact I would buy a bootleg.
  19. I regret everyday not buying an Nt Mini when it was available. I curse Analogue everyday for their shitty marketing ways. And because I gave up on Analogue, I hope everyday for bootleggers to release their own Nt Mini.
  20. Also, probably has got the same programming capabilities than their portable thingy.
  21. I would rather have a new FPGA NES from ANALogue, even without jailbreak. Is it asking that much?
  22. I wasn't talking to you, attention whore! ?‍♂️ And I would be very surprised if you ever say something that catch my interest, BTW.
  23. How dare you complain about shipping fees?! ?
