  1. Okay awesome! I got worried there for a moment lol, reworking it for 320B would've been a bit tough.
  2. Oh I had thought that if kangaroo mode was on then this would eliminate the color issue? I could be wrong on that.
  3. Pokey music would be pretty sweet, I'm actually considering using the BupChip used in Rikki & Vikki as well. There's a lot of different sound options.
  4. Have been far to busy with finals to work on the code, but here's a 320 graphic for the introduction, to hold you guys over lol
  5. I am unsure which would be better to get, an Atari 5200 or an Atari 400. Any opinions?

get the computer and skip the 5200.

Get both!  Gremlins on the 5200 is great along with Space Dungeon and Baseball!

I had received the 7800 game a week or so ago, and didn't really plan on buying the steam release, but hey for 99 cents? I absolutely can't resist! Thanks for the bargin!
  7. Thank you! I am definitely going to continue working on this, gonna be adding a little intro that plays after the title screen
  8. Wow! This is so cool! I really appreciate you making this
  9. Wow, thanks guys! I really appreciate it 😀
  10. Here's the 7800Basic file and Rom for you guys to try out. You'll notice some changes from the original pixel art, and these were all compromises that had to be made in order to get it all on the screen. I wanted to have the entire background be filled, but I'm unable to do that without significant chunks of objects being dropped, and of course screen tearing, so this will have to do until I can make the screen draw more efficient or if I spot a way to speed things up. Anyway, I hope you guys like this, it was really fun to actually challenge myself in this way, and any comments on how to make my code better would be greatly appreciated. Thanks LadyLady.zip
  11. Thank you! I had actually forgot I had that one, just found it in a folder with other stuff 😂 Well I really appreciate the feedback! I'm glad to hear it turned out so well! Thanks a ton! Means a lot!
  12. Oh okay that's good to know that it's nothing to worry about thank you! I'll have to check out magick regardless, it sounds like a useful program.
  13. Okay so certain graphics are only triggering it, any of the "chunks1-a" or "LogoRowChunks", are causing the issue, while both the "Background1-2" and any of the "Let" graphics are fine. I tried adding the chunks one by one, but just adding one chunk gives me this: 7800basic 0.6 Jul 12 2017 22:46:35 libpng warning: Incorrect bKGD chunk index value libpng warning: Incorrect bKGD chunk index value libpng warning: Incorrect bKGD chunk index value libpng warning: Incorrect bKGD chunk index value libpng warning: Incorrect bKGD chunk index value libpng warning: Incorrect bKGD chunk index value libpng warning: Incorrect bKGD chunk index value libpng warning: Incorrect bKGD chunk index value libpng warning: Incorrect bKGD chunk index value *** (): INFO, GFX Block #0 starts @ $E000 chunk100 chunk101 chunk102 chunk103 chunk104 chunk105 chunk106 *** (): INFO, GFX block #0 has 3648 bytes left (228 x 16 bytes) It's a huge amount for just one chunk and adding another chunk just doubles the amount of warnings, so I'm not really sure what's going on with this. This time I'll include all graphics with the updated .bas file, to get a better idea of what's happening. Every incgraphic or incbanner is commented out, as well as the code related to drawing the screen, so you can selectively uncomment whichever of the commands you need to. Thanks for the help. 14. Okay, thank you! I will give it a try and see what I get.
  15. Thank you for the reply! I use a combination of Paint.Net and Graphics Gale for my pngs. Here's some examples:
  16. When I'm compiling a 7800 Basic program, I almost always get a "libpng warning: Incorrect bKGD chunk index value" for every graphic I use in the program. I got the message to go away once, but I have no idea what I did to make this happen. If anyone can help me in solving this issue I would greatly appreciate it, thank you. Also here's my code in case it's needed: LadyLady.bas
  17. Thanks for the reply! I'm actually a fan of Matsushita's work and his style, I like the cartoony-Japanese mix a lot. I was worried of hitting the limit of what Maria could handle, but it's good to know that I can add a background, I think I'll use 160A, to help with the bandwidth issue. I'll also be making an actual rom in 7800 Basic, so these graphics can at least be tested in an emulator, and we will find what kind of background is possible Also, with regards to ManMan, believe it or not but I thought of having a character named ManMan as a joke, poking fun at how silly LadyLady as a name may seem to most people 😂
  18. Wow, thank you I really appreciate it!
  19. Apologies for the double post, but I wanted to share this update to an older title screen graphic I never really finished. I've doing a lot of development with the LadyLady character over the past couple months, so expect to see a lot more use of this thread soon. I've also attached an upscaled version of this image, with proper horizontal compression of a 4:3 aspect ratio. Would love to know what you guys think of these, thanks
  20. Have you ever worked with POKEY before? It seems to be the goto 7800 sound chip, at least at the moment lol.
  21. I'm not sure this really belongs in the Atari 7800 Programming section. You'd have better luck asking in the trading thread or the regular 7800 thread.

Awesome news! I'll finally be getting a chance to get a copy before Christmas this year lol.
  23. Any tips for beating the Suzuka track on Pole Position II for the 7800? I'm completely stumped.

  24. Since Photobucket has decided to blur all my linked images in this thread, I have made an imgur that allows anyone access to my 7800 pixel art, no blur, no compression. If there's any pieces I have made that you wish to see added to my imgur page, just let me know and I will update it. Thanks! Link: https://imgur.com/user/RLeo1/submitted
