Thank you, I usually tune this kind of stuff out or try to rationalize my position, but I'm new on this site and didn't want to go around stepping on toes or anything. However, when he insinuated that me or my friends were weird and that's why I draw this stuff, is just uncalled for. I already stated clearly why I draw that kind of stuff, idk why he felt the need to go on a rant about anime nerds.

I don't watch anime, hentai, or am interested in futa or anything like that, and I never implied that I was or any of my friends were, nothing has suggested that. I have my doubts that anyone, especially me, would post explicit material like that. What I had posted to begin with, was about pixel art for the 7800, this subject may have gone a bit off topic, but I think it's not in any way that would bring in inappropriate pictures, videos, etc. I am offering to alter the material if it truly is offensive to a large amount of the demographic I'm trying to appeal to, so I don't mind making changes if it really is an issue. I'm simply trying to get into development and pixel art for the 7800 and I don't understand how it's derailed into the freaky junk, anime fans are, apparently into.

I respect your perspective, and while I don't 100% agree, I've seen enough negative feedback to make some alterations. I have some questions though: 1) Is it all the female characters that are the issue, or just some specifically? 2) Would clothes assist with the issue, or is it predominantly the anatomy? Also, I'm mostly into adult entertainment i.e. Family guy, Ralph Bakshi films etc. so that's the main reason I draw these types of things, not trying to push anyone's buttons or nothing. But, I'll do a few redesigns to make it a bit more modest.

Wow! That is hilarious! I'm honestly a huge fan of using MSpaint, and have been using it ever since I started doing pixel art. I've also never really understood the bashing of the program either, it's perfectly serviceable and simple to understand; I'd say I'm a fan

I used paint.net for the 7800 pixel art, but the others was either MS Paint (Believe it or not lol) or a program called PIROPaint for the MSX pixel art.

The Emerson Arcadia 2001 was a console that had a ton of clones (some by Emerson, some not) and a lot of these clones have different cartridge ports, same hardware though. I've tried to look at pictures to see what's compatible with what, but the pictures don't help much. Looking at these two consoles, the dust flap where the cart goes in appears to be the same size, but the pinout may be totally different. I'm looking to buy an Arcadia system, but the original, the Arcadia 2001, is just too pricey. I've seen some clones, however, go for a lot cheaper; So I'm trying to see if i can find out which clones are compatible with the American release of the Arcadia 2001, meaning they have the same cartridge pinout. Some examples of clones I would be interested in knowing about would be the Bandai Arcadia, Tryom Video Game Center, Ekusera, or any that aren't in the PAL format. If anyone has any info on this, I'd love to hear it!

No need to apologize, I've actually never seen Perfect Strangers, heard of it though lol. The bug characters were largely inspired by classic cartoons, like the old Donald Duck shorts, Warner Bros cartoons, Felix the cat and definitely Fleischer I had actually drawn a picture not too long ago that used the bug characters in what looked like an old short film poster.

What Castlevania Rondo Of Blood would look/sound like on 7800+POKEY :)

Absolutely love the visuals on this! The cover is fantastic! Happy Halloween -
Wow, thank you very much! I haven't done a lot with the bug characters in a while, maybe I'll try picking them up again. Also, I'm assuming by Hudsonesque you mean Hudson soft. right?
-
Thanks! I think kangaroo would be a great addition to the 7800, it could use some more platforming games
-
Thanks a bunch! If you don't mind me asking, why did you pick those as your favorites?

An original IP would be absolutely killer!

Many thanks! Glad you enjoyed it

I appreciate the feedback on the sprites, but I would have to respectfully disagree when it comes to my portrayal of the female characters. There are many people who enjoy this kind of art, and I'm not exactly sure what aspects of the design make it distasteful, whether it's the lack of clothing, or the figure of the women in general. There are many artists who specialize specifically in drawing curvy, voluptuous or scantily clad women (Think pinup art, japanese art, etc.). I can understand more about it not appealing to as large of an audience as most of the sprites I have done would only be suitable for adults. I don't really see it being an issue, however, when none of the drawings I've posted have been specifically aimed towards children or something of that sort. Thank you for the feedback regardless, and I'm always open to more of it. This post made me laugh! Thank you very much!

Thanks a ton! I have only driven through Texas on my way to Phoenix, Arizona, but I would absolutely love to visit and see the sites Also thanks for enjoying my art style, I'm actually often a tad subconscious about it, so it's very nice to hear someone enjoys it! Oh yeah, I am totally open for commissions as well; The Princess Peach drawing sounds like it would be a ton of fun! P.S. Thanks for all the gold stars, I'll hang with the ruffians in the back of the class

Absolutely! I hope these give a decent idea of what I can do. Here's some of what I've done: (MSX/Colecovision/SG-1000) (ZX Spectrum) (SEGA Genesis) (Master System) (ATARI 7800) (NES) (Game Boy) (Virtual Boy) I'm sorry if these seem a tad unorganized, I haven't gone through some of these files in a long time and some images are smaller than others, I tried my best lol

Thank you so much for the feedback! Also I'm cracking up I had to google what a sailor fuku was But yeah I'm thinking of coming up with some alternate design for the character that's a bit more modest. The lady is from Texas, and in my mind I imagined her character being very flaunty, and therefore, not wearing a whole lot of clothes lol (Here's a drawing of the character so you can see what I mean, she's in the back.) Thanks! I haven't done too many for the Atari systems with the non-square pixels and all, but I have done a bunch for other consoles like the NES, Master System, SEGA Genesis, and MSX computers
-
Thanks for the feedback! I kinda imagined the image would be used for intermissions, like a splash screen before the game begins. I may have to try and put together a title screen Thanks a ton! I'm sure it seems funny that the lady isn't wearing clothes, but that's just how the design turned out lol

I just recently created this pixel art image, while attempting to follow the limitations of the MARIA chip. This was the final result: I'd like to know what you guys think, and if you have any suggestions or tips!

Is there any Atari 7800 Graphics tool out there?

Oh wow! This is super helpful, thanks for the info! I may just have to start using GIMP a bit more often now -

Yeah the indexed color is a great tool in GIMP. Do you know if there's any way to display a pre-made image on screen using 7800 BASIC? -

I realized I can do the same on Paint.net, which I'm more familiar with. I just wish there was a way to check that my final image wouldn't be too much for MARIA to display on screen. -

I agree with you about the interface for sure, I've just had to learn to adjust or swap the image between programs and only really using GIMP when I absolutely need to. -

I actually have gimp so that sounds like a pretty good! I'm having a hard time with grafx2 so I may just try that idea.
