  1. I'm considering a Art Installation based on an A8 game cart. My favorite was Star Raiders. Anyone else have an opinion? I'll likely go with the most popular. Thank you
  2. top end Sony TV - my 130XE has no issue with it on the same cable. I did find the CPU has been socketed. Going to re-seat it tomorrow and see if that affects it at all. Thx
  3. Composite, The case is more yellow than my fathers or mine. I have no history on it. I can check it over an wipe it down but it looks pretty clean.
  4. So I have a 130XE my father seems to have picked up used. The cursor in Basic is 3/4 of the way to the left of the screen until it warms up for about 3 minutes. Then it rights itself. The help, select, option keys seem not to work. I am able to run programs from disk assuming I don't need the 3 formationed keys. Has anyone see something like this before? I'm planning on ordering a new keyboard mylar. I'm more concerned by the video behavior. Thank you
  5. I'm looking for any information or documentation on this peripheral. Anyone?
  6. @nogardvfx1970 It is good to meet you. I have been away for a while. I was wondering where John is today. He was a great guy. I loved how he gave everyone equal attention. 6 or 60 he valued everyone's input. Thank you
  7. This is too tempting - https://github.com/rossumur/esp_8_bit https://www.amazon.com/HiLetgo-ESP-WROOM-32-Development-Microcontroller-Integrated/dp/B0718T232Z/ref=pd_ybh_a_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=55S2JTM45BCWT88FMWED for $15 I got to see how it works. Anyone else done this? Thank you
  8. In my case it was pretty good. My advice is to read and re-read most of my disks worked a few in the dead pile read another day and I copied them over to a PC. I spent around 2 months working on it a bit everyday. May the force be with you Thank you
  9. This is a small parts tray - but typically it's like a hotel tray. I'm using this one for may aie and snacks. Hope that helps Thank you
  10. Not sure if this covers it: http://www.atari-wiki.com/index.php/Installation_procedure_for_Atari_STe_(and_Mega_STe)_computers Thank you
  11. So here to report I'm a member of the 1088XLD club! To recap - I have the Dropcheck IO mod on it with a Sophia Rev. C 1536 x 960. It arrived from @MacRorie ready to rock so to speak. The cable on the Sophia C was not seated well and had me a bit concerned at first. I think it happened in shipping. The XLD is a Beast onto itself. Had I not already had a U1mb and Side 2 I think it would have been dreadfully lost. Honestly it's a little overwhelming hom much hardware this thing is. Still dipping my toes in the water. There is a Mosquito in my office where it is located, so there is a price to pay when testing but worth it. Once I had good video it's been pure fun. I still need to get a CF card dedicated to it but I pulled my Side 2 CF and modified the @flashjazzcat firmware to look at it and I was off the the races. Once again I thank and appreciate everyone involved in the project. I enjoy the new fresh Atari 8 bit Buttery Goodness! Thank you Bee
  12. PM me your location. I might be able to help. Thank you
  13. Add me for 1 please - point me at the thread and I'll buy LOL
  14. The touch pad is a non mechanical switch being used for power and the function keys on the XEGS. In my case in the monitor but it could also be embedded in the EXGS keyboard to replicate the function keys in the keyboard without cutting the case. Thank you
  15. In a thread about the 1088XLD there was a discussion about reusing the XEGS keyboard. I brought up induction sensors - I decided to start a thread on my experiments. I'm embedding both toggle and momentary inductors. I have a repeatable design cutting MDF to 1/10th of an inch and a cut for the LED indicator. Here is the HDMI Screen I'm using an a test frame.

    XEGS

Fww - I have 3. 1 stock, 1 bare board, 1 with a U1MB, Sophia rev C DVI. They all work great. I went this way because of the option to use a TK2 XEGS plugin to a PS2 keyboard as well. Works nice with PS2 wireless keyboard and mouse. Here is the upgraded one: That is a 5 Volt 10 inch HDMI screen with the XEGS mounted vertically on this: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/skadis-pegboard-white-10321618/ Congratulations on your XEGS, just do a 3 count when power cycling, the memory takes a moment longer to lose enough power to dump their contents on those units. Thank you
  17. This is the v1.5 floppy running on a MegaSTE internal HD lun ID set to 3, with a Ultra Satan connected to after the Supercharger. I suspect the G drive is on the Ultra Satan. I was experimenting. With the Supercharger connected it forces the boot from the internal Hard Drive. I don't have specific DOS software I was looking to run. I was just trying to get the Emulator up and running. Back in the day I ran the GEM Desktop. I'm going to work with @remowilliams to try to get a sharable copy of this disk. I can't make a image and export it at the moment. When I moved to a 1040STE the Ultra Satan isn't seen after the SuperCharger. The 1040SET is where I would like to use it. More to come. Thank you
  18. It's alive. DMA cable arrived! It is running from floppy. @remowilliams I will work on it. I currently have no way to get anything off the ST. It will take some time. I happen to have pile of disks. No PC that can read them and no external connection on the ST yet.
  19. 3 left https://www.amazon.com/Adafruit-Standalone-Capacitive-Sensor-Breakout/dp/B00SK6M1M6/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=AT42QT1070&qid=1588441839&sr=8-1
  20. Ok I have run a quick test. You would need to wire directly to the pads to save vertical space. My understanding is a field is calibrated around the pad on each power up of these sensors. Using a real XEGS keyboard case. I'm triggering the sensor with my middle finger after placing it and applying power. If I make this alteration to my keyboard I will paint a outline in the corresponding button colors to see the "target area" on the top side. A small piece fiber optic can work as a light pipe if you want to bring the LED to the surface. Job Done. After looking at it, I might even make a Aluminum Atari log to replace the help button so all the function keys could be sensors. If I were any good at CAD I'd make a mockup. Unfortunatly I'm just OK with CAD. But I'd line up the sensors on the left side of the case. http://www.the-liberator.net/site-files/retro-games/hardware/Atari-XE/atari-xe-keyboard.htm Thank you
