  1. Sending back my 3rd xbox 360 since December! :x :x

I spoke with a manger...she said ALL repaired consoles are updated with improved chips and cooling. I don't believe her and requested a brand new one.

She refused but did offer overnight shipping.

    Hi Guys:

Yep.... Microsoft did fix there models with improved chips & cooling on refurbished and new consoles. Sweet. Now buy a Xbox 360 guys (-_^)

    Anthony....

Then why do mine keep frying?

Like I stated earlier. It seems odd that certain people cant keep a 360 working to save their lives. I swear it has to have something to do with something in the house maybe. Some other equipment you're interfacing with, network related or maybe electrical related?? Either that or some people just have terrible terrible luck.

Well, my original machine lasted 2 years. It was purchased about 4 weeks after launch, so I was surprised it lasted as long as it did. I also am not a heavy user...(It gets turned on about once a week for an hour or so). My issue has been with the garbage replacements from M$. The first lasted 2 hours use, the 2nd one lasted about 5 hours use in 4 weeks.

I have gotten a different machine each time, even though they said mine would be fixed and returned, so I'm thinking I'm probably getting a high mileage POS that one part was replaced in and was sent back out.

    Steve

BTW I am sending the power supply back with this one. Have they made it smaller yet? :ponder:

  3. I must have gotten VERY lucky! I bought mine within the first 2 weeks of launch and have never had a problem :)

There are two things Jesus doesn't like: little boys who touch themselves and people who brag about the reliability of their 360s. Expect a bolt of lightning very soon.

As long as some rain comes with the lightning, that would be OK! ;)

Well, my 360 died last night....exactly 3 weeks before my warranty expired! I'm not usually this lucky.

  5. I hooked up a wireless 360 controller to my PC with no problems, and decided to play a little Quake 2. The game doesn't recognize the right thumbstick or the triggers. Is there any way to configure the game to have the "mouselook" option be set to the right thumbstick? The first Quake game behaves the same as well.

  6. I thought the 360 had some of the best launch titles of all time. Hyper_Eye mentioned two but in my opinion Kameo was a must play as well. The difference between the two launches is people actually wanted the 360. The PS3 is readily available, it's just most folks would rather not pay $700 to just to play one game.

    Don't forget $80-100 for a HDMI cable. ;)

I LOVED that particular series of bitchyness.

"ZOMG TEH MONSTAR CABLE AM 100! PS3 KAN'T DO HD WIFFOUT IT!111"

Actually, I had no idea they were that cheap now. I don't have any equipment that uses them, I had just seen the cables at Best Buy for that price yesterday. They were in the PS3 section. I'm assuming now that they are all the same? ie the PS3 doesn't have a special end to plug into it.

Thanks for the read CPU! I'm thinking of getting a flat screen tv. I want to run HDMI cable in my wall above my fireplace. (It's gas log so there is no chimney heat to worry about). Do they make some sort of recepticle plate to put on the wall to plug into for HDMI? This way I can put my video equipment in a cabinet with a video selector box. The tv would only require the one HDMI plug and a power pluc behind it. :)
