  1. Yes, you can see pictures of the packaging on page 1 of this thread. There are a bunch of screenshots of the game and at the end of those screenshots you can see some pictures of the packaging.
  2. Thank you for your interest ^_^ I have enough materials to create 3 or 4 copys more except for the custom plastic boxes. In a few months I will order a batch of custom plastic boxes and create those 3 or 4, and I will send an email to those who (like you) clicked on the button "let me know when this product is back in stock" in order of date of request. Also, if in the future I can find a source of those special cartridges that this game requires, we will create another small batch. Happy holidays everyone!
  3. Thank you for asking ^_^ No, far from it. My neck is as scarred in the inside as it is in the outside, after so many cirguries everything is scrambled and out of place and I feel it every day. Also, after those 3 weeks in the hospital without knowing if I was going to live or die, without being able to eat or drink and only feeling obscene amounts of pain, and tubes inserted in my neck, mouth and nose, I still have nightmares one year later, so mentally I am not ok either. (for those who don't know, last year the stress and anxiety lowered my defenses and I got a severe bacterial infection that almost killed me, I couldn't breathe). So I try to avoid any stressful situations at all costs.
  4. I would love to make another one, but since I don't have any secure, 100% guaranteed cartridge provider that I can count at a 100%, nor anything close to that, and considering that what happened with "The Sorrow of Gadhlan Thur" almost 2 years delay was an indescribable nightmare and caused me serious health problems due to the anxiety and countless nights of no sleep, I must say this: If anyone can guarantee 100% that I can count with whatever amount of cartridges I need when I need them, I will make another Kai Magazine game. Until then, if I make another game it will be in my spare time, for free, in rom only for everyone to download, but my free time is very scarce as of late, so it might take more than a while. Anyway I appreciate A LOT the sentiment. I thank you all of you who supported our developments over these past years!
  5. Thank you! I attempted exactly that, to make it look and feel as close as possible to a Game Boy Color game, regardless of the huge technical differences. Please do check the other games I made for Intellivision such as, Ninja Odissey, A.F.: "Antropomorphic Force", A tale of Dragons and Swords, Star Mercenary and The Sorrow of Gadhlan Thur. You can check them in my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@kaimagazine8221/videos All of those games are being sold by the publisher: Elektronite except for The Sorrow of Gadhlan Thur which is sold in my online store but it is currently out of stock on physical format (I will do some more units in a few months) but it is available in digital format. Thanks again for your kind words!
  6. The pre-order of Life on Earth: Reimagined begins! "Life on Earth: Reimagined" is our third game for the Sega Genesis / Megadrive. It is a spin-off of the top seller: "Life on Mars: Genesis". It is based on our 2017 MSX2 game of the same name but it has been massively improved in all aspects. The game is an action-packed mix of Contra, Shinobi 3 and Rolling Thunder, on a Cyberpunk setting. The game has 3 difficulty settings for the standard game mode and 2 additional game modes: -Arcade: With the Contra/Sunset riders rules of 1 hit=death, but you respawn where you died and you have infinite ammo. -Heroic: Gunstar heroes rules: 1 life but lots of HP, but the enemies as well. Infinite ammo. The soundtrack is being composed by the amazing composer: SAVAGED REGIME (Xenocrisis, AsteBros) Here is a video of the game: Here you can see an awesome Retro gamer Boy review of the demo: You can pre-order at a reduced pre-order price here: https://kai-magazine-software.fwscart.com/browse/cat4398490_555342.aspx Box contents: -Region free cartridge (works on cosnoles from USA, Europe and Japan) -Box with reversible cover -Full color instruction manual -Several postcards To be released and shipped on Fall 2023. More videos will be released during the pre-order period. 7. "Life on Earth: Reimagined" is our third game for the Sega Genesis / Megadrive. It is a spin-off of the top seller: "Life on Mars: Genesis". To be released on Fall 2023. If you still don't own Life on Mars: Genesis, now is the time to take advantadge of the special release price, which is in it's last weeks. Now in stock and ready to be shipped, and still at launch price, just for a few weeks more: https://kai-magazine-software.fwscart.com/browse/cat4398490_555342.aspx
  8. Yep! You 100% it! There are indeed a few squares that can't be explored. Sorry about that ^_^;
  9. I forgot to mention; After you finish it, try a harder difficulty level (in the Options menu). The game gets a lot better the harder it is.
  10. The total playthrough time may vary quite a bit from player to player depending on their previous experience with this kind of games and also on their play style. Some people will try to play it as an arcade game, trying to find the right path and push through using skill and brute force, others enjoy exploring the full map and try to find all the upgrades and secrets, farm for resources and level up, etc. So while some people can finish it in 4 or 5 hours (which is very quick and it will get kind of hard at the end) others will spend 8 or 10 hours and will not suffer so much at the last areas. This is the beauty of these kinds of games, you can play them however you want.
  11. It indeed has some Dead Space vibes since it is one of my favorite games as well ^_^ There will be a sequel, but first an spin-off/prequel will be released. That spin-off will not be a Metroidvania, but an arcade game, set in the same universe as Life on Mars and expanding on the story and the main characters, so the sequel will be richer in content and depth.
  12. I have a strong feeling you didn't read the manual before you started playing ^_^; I am glad you are having fun with the game!
  13. I received the game today. As far as I can see there are a lot of quality of life improvements such as: You don't lose most of the items after you use them once (except for money and the grenades). This is a huge improvement over the 2600 version since you don't need to go and collect that same item over and over. You can actually collect all the items in the game and keep them due to a large inventory system. There is a limited number of snakes in a room and they pursue you on any direction. Once you kill them they don't respawn until you re-enter that room again. Infinite bullets for the gun (once you buy the bullets), making combat a lot more fun. If you get paralyzed by the spider web or by tse-tse flies you can still use your whip or gun to defend yourself and kill the spider or the thief. If you escape the dungeon prision using the "press down for several seconds" trick, the cave's top exit wall will not close over time (the bottom one does close) so you will not get stuck there and have to reset the game. Grenades kill the snakes and they don't kill you if you don't leave the first room. Some things are more intuitive. There are probably more things but that is what I've seen so far.
  14. Yes! We started the shipments a few days ago as advertised. Shipments will take a couple of months and we will ship them in order of payment. Please check your spam folder often to see if we sent you our shipping confirmation with the tracking information. Thank you everyone for your support!
  15. Hi Numan, Please do watch this video, from minute 2:40 to minute 13:33 You will see how you can get the first items, including the throwing knives wich will allow you to explore new areas. I also strongly recommend you read the entire manual since there are some clues as to where to find some items or how to use them. Happy adventuring!
  16. Ironically enough, while I developed this game, I don't own an Intellivoice. I don't want one for free, so if you let me know the price you would sell it for I would be happy to pay it plus the shipping costs to Spain. PM sent.
  17. Thank you very much for sharing your feedback, that makes me very happy to hear/read. I really hope the publisher (Elektronite) can produce more copies eventualy so more people can enjoy it.
  18. I am It makes me very happy to read that you liked the game and the packaging! Yes, I am feeling a bit better every day. It will be a very long and slow recovery but everything seems to be going in the right direction. Thank you for your concern ^_^
  19. I am super happy that you enjoyed it ^_^ I am not 100% sure but I belive there is an autofire upgrade you can buy early on the game, and you can enable-disable it by pressing a key or something.
  20. It makes me really happy that people are liking the box so much. It will also last as good as new waaay longer than any cadboard box. The plastic box, with the customized foam, the big manual and the cover is also pretty expensive, but it is worth it in my opinion.
