  1. Since most of your audience probably already has a copy protect defeat disk, I wonder if you could make a downloadable demo? Also I would explain on your site how Maqiupai is different from Shanghai. Finally, you might want to make some small banners that fans could put on their websites for some free advertising. That said, I'm not entirely sure that I will take you up on the offer primarily for a reason someone else stated, I'm not sure that I want to play these games. Before I had a family I would have bought them anyway. Might still be interesed in Maqiupai. Eric
  2. Man, but that does bring back memories. For those of us who are old enough, anyway. Eric
  3. Article here, I don't think you need to register or have Javascript. Eric
  4. Yeah, I knew I came here for the comic relief,
  5. OK, Goodwill wouldn't take it because it's too big. I'd prefer to give it to some organization as a tax writeoff, but really I want it out of the garage. Local takers? This thing is too heavy to ship anywhere. Basically when my wife and I setup housekeeping together we both had giant microwaves but hers was also a convection oven so it "won" and got to stay in the house. Mine has been in the garage. For awhile we lent it to some relatives but they replaced it with a smaller one. This thing is large enough to cook a chicken in, possibly large enough to accomodate a small child. Any takers? Need to come to Ellicott City, MD to pick it up (or somewhere around Columbia, I don't mind meeting around my office near I95). Eric
  6. Oooh, Palm version, that would be cool.
  7. I told you you didn't want to know...complete open and shrinkwrapped for 7800, Lynx and Jaguar, basically the systems that I like to play. Complete 5200 minus Meteorites (and I'm also missing a Competition Pro stick). Release games anyway, I don't have all the homebrew stuff. Budget curtailed since the arrival of children. Maybe if I ever get any of my homebrew efforts done I can use it to trade for the other homebrews. Last summer I dumped what was left of my company on my partner and got a real job, and I've been doing as much freelance work as I can get my hands on since then to pay off some bills left over from that era. I'm hoping that the bills will be done with by the middle of the summer, so maybe, just maybe, I'll take a freelance hiatus and maybe even a day job vacation to have something to show by CGExpo. Oh yeah, I also have a near complete Vectrex collection, basically missing one manual and a few boxes. Also one of my favorite systems. And I'm a holder of one of the fabled working, complete 1400XLs including lab Telelink and SALT carts for it. Maybe one day there will be pictures. I never really collected for the 2600 because I didn't enjoy the system all that much, and I didn't have one as a kid. I keep around a few 2600's and some of my favorite games (Seaquest and Crackpots come to mind) but not what I would call a collection. I have picked up some interesting 2600 controllers, my favorite being the Batman one. Something about those amuses me. Eric
  8. Still in the market? I have a spare 1050 (I'm pretty sure anyway, it's been awhile since I've taken inventory). It'll be expensive to mail since it weighs a ton, but that goes with the territory. I also have a bunch of games I'd be willing to part with, including a spare Star Raiders. Let me know if you're still interested. For convenience please reply to my personal e-mail, [email protected] Eric
  9. ...to make room for a playroom to stash the kids in before I go insane. Therefore I'm trying to empty out my trade/extras box. Make an offer, I prefer to sell but I would consider trades. (Remember, I am trying to end the day with less stuff, not more). American McGee's Alice, still sealed PC game 5200 Frogger loose good label Lynx Basketbrawl sealed Lynx Shanghai used Neo Geo Pocket Color blue marble design with Dark Arms Xbox memory card, Madcatz, sealed, preloaded with EA Sports and 4x4 Evo game saves Vectrex Blitz complete Vectrex Web Wars complete Vectrex Star Trek with manual Vectrex Heads Up with manual Vectrex system manual Vectrex Minestorm manual Sega SMS with power, TV switch, Rastan and a Genesis 3-button controller Respond soon or forever hold your peace...listing on eBay early next week. Thanks, Eric
  10. Yeah, I really like that title. One of the reasons to keep a Lynx handy. Which is wierd, I think most people gave it a tepid reception at best. I really like buying weapons upgrades in Missle Command, makes up for the lack of a track ball. Eric
  11. You folks probably don't want to know this... I have two complete collections, one shrinkwrapped, one play. That was before kids, I had the collecting bug bad. So I completed this over 5 years ago now. I also have similar for Lynx and Jaguar. By the time I got into the 5200 the urge to collect shrinkwrapped stuff was gone, so I only have opened boxes. Also I have a 7800 dev kit which I really should be doing something with, but unfortunately life has me too busy. Eric
  12. Extremely cool...I just played this game on the Game Gear for the first time last week. It's good news since the release lineup for the DS isn't all that appealing to me, and I'm almost finished Driller Spirits. Eric
  13. I have a spare SMS...the following parts: Console Power TV autoswitch Rastan cartridge I'm missing an SMS controller for it but I'll also throw in a Genesis 3 button controller, which works just fine and which I actually prefer. $10 + actual shipping OBO or trade. For trade I'm considering games for Game Gear, Saturn, DC, or NGPC. Watch this space for more stuff...my wife came into some family money and wants to redo the basement so I need to clean up my stuff. Getting rid of extras, non-video game items laying around, and maybe some non-extra video game and computer stuff that I don't really want anymore. Eric
  14. I was going to be skeptical of the topic but that's actually pretty cool. I have a giant box or two of controllers I don't use regularly but the shoe thing is actually a great idea for the ones I want at hand...I could hang that from the side of the TV shelf...cool. Eric
  15. Can I join the too many systems dullards club? I have this thing for controllers...I'll have six or seven around...get up for whatever, then when I get back I don't remember which one was actually hooked up, which requires either some experimentation or digging behind other stuff. Eric

    Newbie developer

Yeah, the Neo Geo has a 68K with a 32 bit address line...you do have the cartridge space to use in the Lynx, which amount to megabytes, but the only thing you can do with it is move the data to RAM, where it can actually be used. Eric
  17. Don't forget the Lynx...you have to halt it to let the blitter run. Doesn't it also have a few extra nice instructions like test and set? Anyhow, get past the assembler instructions by writing a couple of small programs to use much. You don't have a lot of options in 6502, so there's not much to learn, at least not from the book. The trick is learning how to do things in certain ways that save memory or processing cycles. Also, because you don't have a fast processor, or much memory, or really that much video hardware (compared to, say, a Radion 9000 and DirectX) that you really need to learn how to plan out what you want to do. Good luck, Eric
  18. Ah but what would a collection in the original shrinkwrap fetch? FYI I would have to be in pretty bad straits to sell mine, but it is going into storage until we refinish the basement. Eric
  19. I have a defective Baldies game for the Jaguar, but...it has a nice box, instructions and case. My working one also has the stuff with it, so... If you have a cold Baldies that doesn't have the box and instructions and case, this one is yours for the actual price of postage. I'll even spring for the box and packing tape. Let me know. Eric
  20. I can probably set you up with a 1050 FDD and some games. Also would an Atari 1200XL do instead of an 800XL? There's not much on your trade list, what's this stuff worth for cash? Keep in mind that the 1050 weighs a ton and will be expensive to ship. Eric
  21. Just bought a box 'o LCD games for $3 at an indoor yardsale. Can't figure out how to play most of them. Any ideas? Tiger Double Dragon 3 Tiger Ninja Gaiden Tiger John Elways Quarterback Tiger Wrestling Tiger Batman This one's especially odd: Acclaim Total Recall Hell, even this one is odd, I think it has something to do with scrolling: Micro Games of America Pac-Man (also the sound on this one is hideous). I don't even collect these games but for $3, at least some of the handhelds have the video game tie in to things I do collect. No instructions for any of these but other than being a little dirty they're all in good shape. Eric
  22. Quebec? No thanks. Calgary is a lot of fun though. Maybe we need to start a Canada forum. And you guys have Colin Machery. Actually the way politics has been going in the United States...well, I sense this is moving waaay off topic. Eric
  23. Serves you right for being Canadian. Only a matter of time before we invade to get your, uh, hey, don't you have diamond mines up there? Eric
  24. I discovered yard sale TV's. Generally never more than about $10. If they don't work I don't get too upset but so far I've never had a total dud. I now have 4 extra TVs in the basement. Basically the systems I like/have been playing a lot go on the nice TVs and the occassional ones go on the crappy sets. Right now I think the nicest TV in the basement has a switcher with the Sega collection on it...DC, Saturn, Genny and SMS. Eric
  25. Lately dump it in the basement for later until I have time. Haven't been getting much new stuff lately. Actually I've been getting new old stuff, because the current gen and portable systems are all upstairs, so they have walk by value/play time. Eric
