  1. I just got my first 2600 second-hand a couple of weeks ago. Light Sixer: Sears Tele-games Video Arcade S/N: 19430 T Manufactured by Dimerco Electronics in Taiwan Shell has speaker slots The paper that was taped to the shielding inside the shell is dated July 16, 1980. The guy I got it from had no idea if it still worked. The RF switchbox was toast, so I bought an F-type to RCA adapter and tested it out. After adjusting the pots for the RF modulator and color and disassembling/cleaning/reassembling the b/w switch, the unit works perfectly. The outer shell cleaned up very nicely too. He also included several games, two joysticks (cx-40), and a paddle controller set. Both joysticks look pristine, but one did not register left or down. After taking the joystick apart, the problem was that the wires were very loosely connected to the board. I tried to tighten the clamps on the wires, but they were so brittle they started to break. I decided to just snip off the wire clamps and solder the wires directly to the board inside the joystick. It works perfectly now. The paddle was very jittery, so I disassembled/cleaned/reassembled it and now it works smoothly. I haven't tried the second paddle yet.
