  1. I have a retron 3 and I was contemplating getting a blue tooth 8bitdo blue tooth controller and dongles for the nes, snes and genesis. This way I could have one wireless controller for all 3 systems with out it being the crappy included one. Is this something that is advisable?
  2. I have been having issues with Donkey Kong Jr. (Coleco) . I didn't see it on this list at all. Anyone have issues with this game? Maybe its my cart?Works on my 7800
  3. I like it for the most part. My 2600 library is fairly small (around 30 games), it plays all of my games. The joystick it comes with is responsive but fragile. I actually broke it clean off today. I love playing atari in glorious HD.
  4. I think I am going to recant my statement a bit. The nes is pretty equal. With some things looking better on one and others looking better on the other. I may actually like the s-video better on the RetroTink before I was trying to line doubled and it looked bad so I would have to use that smooth filter but without line doubling it looks great and is closer to correct aspect ratio. That being said the cooldigital was $38 with cables vs RetroTink $104 without. Ultimately I am pretty impressed with the retron 3 as a sega genesis with s-video. If the master system games didn't have those minor graphical issues. I may not have ordered the retrovision cables and just used that as my sega for the flat screen.
  5. its not bad, RetroTink is a little bit better there. I would mention that if you are using original hardware the RetroTink wins on all counts. My guess is that Retron 3 s-video output must be pretty good. The cooldigital stuff is very much garbage in/garbage out. I think the latency comes from the 240p to 480I jump. So maybe the better signal helps with the latency.
  6. I recently got a RetroTink. I have been running my retron 3 s-video out to the RetroTink and I have to say my genesis and master system games looked really good. Just for kicks I decided to try the cooldigital to compare and I must say I think the cooldigital might look better. The other benefit of the cooldigital is I am able to run the nes side out to the s-video and some how that looks really good. The retron 3 only outputs composite for the nes, however running it through s-video into this scaler makes it look better than anything I have gotten out of the RetroTink for the NES.
  7. are you saying atgames 2018 can play master system games? If so how well?
  8. I think these would be realistic with licensing Food Fight, Desert Falcon, Basket Brawl, Ninja Golf, Centipede
  9. I think these might be realistic with licensing. Food Fight, Desert Falcon, Basket Brawl, Ninja Golf, Centipede
  10. Thanks for the write up. Doesn't sound like its really much better than an av2hdmi with an aspect ratio switch like the cooldigital.
  11. If it is just upscaling composite than its no different then my cooldigital av2hdmi with an aspect ratio switch and I'm not interested. If it's at least s video I'd consider purchasing this. Right now I am using my retron 3 for s video output and when I use that, giant use my converter with the aspect ratio switch. Its either s video or proper aspect ratio
  12. I think I am beginning to realize all of these clone systems are relatively the same. If I want flawless master system a modern tv, I am going to have to go with the mega sg or an emulation based solution like the retron 5. That being said the glitches are pretty minor.
  13. Has anyone seen this. I wonder if it is any good. https://hyperkinlab.com/hdtv-cable-for-genesis-hyperkin/
  14. I know it's just a pass through but Genesis tends to run very smooth so I found it weird that sms games so consistently had those minor glitches. That being said I threw a lot of sms games and it did play everything except afterburner and cloud master.
  15. I have a retron 3 and noticed minor graphical glitches on pretty much all master system games. I am using a power base mini. I gave also seen the same thing in videos for the retro trio plus and mini gen HD. Is this a power base mini bug or do all of these clones have the same bug? Has anyone tried another converter with these clones? Same results? Different?
  16. I just picked up one these for $25. I have noticed graphical glitches on master system games. I am using the power base mini. This is the same behavior I would see in videos of the retro trio plus and the mini gen HD. I am wondering if that converter is causing the glitches. Anybody else see these issues? Most of the time its playable but is a bit annoying.
  17. So are you saying for NTSC master system games run fine?
  18. Yeah I can't play one full game with out it freezing. I guess ill stick with the 7800 version and have guerilla war fill my run and gun on the nes.
  19. I have had this issue with two separate copies. I have tested on an original NES and a Retro bit RES. For me the freezing is random.
  20. Double Dragon 2600 Commando 2600 (complete all 8 levels and wrapped around to level 1 Golden Axe master system (first time since the 90's) Golden Axe Genesis (first time in 10 years)
  21. I wonder how the retro bit trio or gamerz tek mini gen HD compare to this on master system comparability
  22. Has any one tried hooking the retron 77 to a CRT via some sort digital to analog converter? If so does it run well?
  23. $41 is a good deal for a Retron 5. I have thought about getting one but for $150 I didn't think so because of the issues with emulation. I have a Retron 77 and do like the save states but in a lot of ways it isn't just ready to go out of the box. Firmware updates, getting a 2600-adapter for paddles. Not sure I want to deal with that at that price point. I'm guessing a RetroTink basically uses line doubling to convert the signal to 480i and then converts it to 720p? I guess I was very surprised just how much better 480i looked on a flat screen and how good that little console is for $20.
  24. I bought one of these for $20 (the one without HDMI outputs). I noticed even on my HD tv it looks pretty decent where the original NES would have muddy colors. To be honest it isn't much different than playing it on a CRT. Does anyone know why the RES is so much better? And do all of these clone consoles have improved composite signal?
