When though? Who knows.

You say Tom-R-tow
Lets just agree the whole things off.....

If whatever money they are making from preorders isn't enough to cover production + overhead, they have a relatively large problem. At that point, they are basically dead as a company unless they somehow suddenly get a lot of cash from somewhere.
It's quite sad to see what was once a promising and interesting product become... this.
It seems to have become a pyramid scheme although not originally intentional. I suspect its now collapsed. Glad I never paid them anything and sympathy to those who have lost money.

They have gone quiet on Twitter. They often seem do so after an announcement attracts flack as the streaming one has done.

I do think though that had they stuck to the original FPGA vision but within the modules not the base and minus the hybrid emulation failure, maybe with delays, they would now have a monster hit on their hands. Analogue have proven FPGA is the way. That would have been more costly but would have created more custom. The overly high price now is to recover wasted spending.

Zero commitment from Polyflop to further retro consoles support is an epic fail from my pov. Once the community gets hold of it sideloading roms will likely happen. Polyflop said somewhere that while they do not support that they will not seek to block it. But homebrew and side loading really needs a big install base. All very catch 22. The opening pages of this thread read much like the latest ones as do Polyflops posts on TwitFace. I will check in here in a years time when Polyflop launch will be just a month or two away as usual.

All the delays have made me re look at the PS2 homebrew scene recently and it has developed well over these last 4 Polyflop years. I had overlooked it I suppose in expectation of RetrobloxFPGA then the Polyflop. So PS2 homebrew is where I am heading. No costs really. I have all the kit. It plays PS2 games oddly enough.....

I have followed RetroPloyMegaBolx since early 2016. I was on their original forums. Streaming but no commitment to additional retro consoles and a stupid price.....
It's finally over now. I am done with it.
It might be interesting to check on it in year or so to see how long the launch delay is though.
I don't do TwitFace or others but we know Poly read this thread. Bye bye to them.

Makes me glad I have an original Megadrive and Everdrive. The prices make RetroGamePloyBolx a non starter though at this time.

I truly want this to succeed but I'm getting dejavu. 4+ years ago the chatter was about extra modules. Atari 2600, Coleco, 3DO etc. There's chatter again now on Twitter about PSP and 3DO modules from new joiners many of whom are also asking questions that have long been answered. Hard not to be worried when I've seen all this before over the last 4 years of Polyretromegablox.

I have to wonder if the 6 they've sent out are the "pre-production samples" that they were "focussed" on some time ago. Other than any prototype / development stuff they have at their base, does any other hardware exist I wonder?
MVG comments on his video today that the beta system he's received has clearly been used.....
I'm sure I first came across the Retroblox website in Jan / Feb 2016 (sixteen...) That does tie in with their Twitter join date. Can anyone confirm that Retroblox web site date ?

The silence on this thread is concerning.......

You've previously said you may look at producing a custom controller after launch. Any updates on that ?
-
Any updates on the progress of these controllers ?

Pat and Ian can address me publicly here if they have an opinion. Where have they expressed that ? This forum however is not for opinions on each other - it's about our common interests. I've reported the post on the basis on Pat and Ian's behaviour.

I found the original post:
Q Will you show off more modules you have in the works ?
A Yessir.
Did I interpret the posters meaning wrongly? Did Polymega interpret wrongly. Not sure I spose, but that's the question and answer ........

E3 seems to have gone well for Polymega. I like the light gun design. To me the orange version looks camouflaged - quite cool really! I want one!
Before E3though, they said on Twitter that they had "huge announcements" at E3. The gun was announced before E3 - was that the "huge announcements" or have I missed something ?
Also on Twitter, they were asked if they would be announcing new modules at E3 - they said yes. They've shown the 4 we knew about - where are the new ones ?
It's looking promising but I've wanted to be fair on these points and wait till E3 was over before posting.

I skipped over the original Intellivision (Atari VCS to Coleco) but this concept does does look interesting. I'm watching......!

I was real hopeful for this until I heard about emulation. If the main part of the system was FPGA and all the add ons were for each respective system(s), that'd be pretty cool.
Their original sell was FPGA in the base before they switched to emulation only, although they claim future individual modules may have FPGA - I'll believe it when I see it.
Which has reminded me about Genesis J Cartridges (contoller ports for player 3 and 4 built into the cart). They claimed back in FPGA/Hybrid emulation days thay they would work - but of course they wont as there's no active cartridge reading.
So they won't be playable "properly" but maybe will work with 2 cordless and 2 wired controllers.
E3 will tell - it's boom or bust for them - they either blow my socks off or I'm gone.

In my eyes, the PolyMega that is delivered is a seperate project that was designed to be underwhelming. The original system, that got all the attention and buzz, was cancelled and is still as impossible/impractical as we ever said it was.
I completely agree with that view.

Re rapid Fire, I wonder whether the Sega Master System rapid fire adapter may work. I have one in my collection.
-
Now that they've switched to an Emulation PC, the door should be easily open to emulating older consoles. For me that would be Atari 2600 VCS and the Colecovision/Adam. And a proper version of Pong!.....
These and others had official threads - created by Polymega themselves - in their now closed forums.
Both had the same pad socket as a Genesis/Megadrive so that might be a way to allow connection of original controllers.
Why not have an SD slot in the dust cover/blank module that comes with the system for these old Roms ?
Are you reading this Playmaji ? It's a PC - just like the one I'm typing on now which is 7 years old and plays roms of EVERY game I ever had.

Should we have received any kind of email acknowledgement after signing up? I haven't.
Thanks

Looking at your image I got the impression that your thumb stick screwed into the middle of the d pad. If not could that be a solution?

"I will check in here in a years time when Polyflop launch will be just a month or two away as usual".
I said that on May 31st 2020. OK so it's 11 days short of a full year - near enough.
So here I am - and here the Polyflop is not.
I've been off planet for 6 months plus in a way. Heck, even the Atari VCS thing finally appeared 4 months or so ago which I missed - early adopters seem unimpressed with it though.
Just waiting now for them to reset their eternal teasing by saying they've rebranded, redesigned and are launching a new and upgraded Polymega 2. Any bets ?
It's as far away as ever. Or more correctly it's as far away as NEVER.
